Title: Motion
Post by: Summicron on June 07, 2008, 09:14:09 PM
I seem to spend half my life sitting in bus shelters, and on this particular occasion it was raining, not particularly heavy, it made the red bus stop markings intensely colourful, then I noticed the effect car wheels were playing with wet road. I thought, "Would this work as a photograph?" A fairly slow shutter speed, pre-focus the lens on the line between the red and grey, then just wait for the front wheel of a car to come into the frame, took on or two shots, everyone worked, especially this.

Interesting view.

It took a lot of patience, and waiting for a bus taxes patience.  A unique way to overcome both forms of impatience!

Good work.  I do so enjoy seeing life through your eyes.

This is great.  The saturated colors make this one special, as much as the wisps of water from the tire tracks and the blurring of the wheel.

BTW, it nicely shows that the actual motion of any given point on the wheel is not circular, but rather describes a cycloid:

Very nice.
