This is about all that's left of my first career in bacteriology:

The microscope was ancient when I first used it (ca. 1920) and the Bergey's Manual was printed in 1969, when I bought it new.
The microscope, I mean. (I'm ca. 1947)
I remember using one like that in school.
Good black and white, when it comes to old school the B&W seems to work the best!
