Title: Profiles of Power
Post by: Summicron on May 31, 2008, 09:04:38 PM
Knottingly, West Yorkshire, a £2 Yorkshire rover ticket used to get us on quite a few excursions on the train around Yorkshire, this was taken from an embankment above the engine sheds in Knottingly, three class 56 locomotives are butted up to a class 58. All these engines are used for hauling coal from the pits to the power stations. Trains are called MGRs, short for merry go rounds, they run round a loop of track at the pit and the power station.
