I was trying to post this in my gallery, but kept getting a critical error message half way through? :-\
So I decided to share it with you all here. I took the photo in color and converted a copy to black and white. Then with the smart select tool, I selected the pear in the original and transferred it over to the b & W copy.

Awesome photo
Fantastic! Great work.
Thanks guys!
Good work! I'll have to try that someday. I've gotten that critical error message a couple of times, though not recently. Once, my pict was a pixel or two, too big, and the other time, I wasn't sure what the deal was. ???
And this is the first time I have seen a red pear.
In His Grip,
Kevin
Thanks Kevin! I hadn't ever seen a red pear either, until I found this one in a grocery store. As soon as I saw it, I thought it would be great to take pictures of, plus I was curious about the taste, so I bought a few. The pictures did turn out interesting having the red pears in there, but we were disappointed when we found out the inside looks like a typical pear and it tastes like one too. With changing the rest of the picture to black and white, I'm sure people think I tweaked the pear's color too, but it's the real thing. :)
What a great job you did!
I'm going to try that in Paint Shop Pro and see if I can do it.
Thanks Pat! It was a lot of fun and the fact that the color contrasted so much with the colors around it made it a lot easier to select than other things I've tried. Glad you like it and hope to see yours when you try it too. :)
Yes I have seen red pears, not any difference in taste, yes it was disappointing.
The picture is far from disappointing though it is great.
You have a great eye!
Thanks Judy!
Have you any other Pictures that you can post?
I've posted a few more pictures in my gallery, but none are like this style. I have another one of the out of bounds pictures to post of my son Matthew. I'll try to post it in a few minutes.
Will look forward to seeing Matthew, Deb.
I like this phot....I'm hungry!
