  I am in desperate need of some advice! I love my D70 but I am getting horrible results when I  try getting any tiype of action shots at any level of light. I cant get anything in focus or its to dark or to
light. Please any advice would be helpfull.

What are you setting your shutter speed, aperture, and ISO at?

Having come upon this rather late, i don't know if you've resolved the problem or not.

You can try setting the camera on shutter priority and try that. To catch a bird in flight on a bright day set the shutter to 1/800 or 1/1000 and let the camera set the aperature for you. It's a good way to learn what works.

I just finished shooting a skating event - working in total darkness with no flash and managed to stop the action using an ISO of 800 and shutter speed of 1/300 using the D70 and an ISO of 1000 and shutter speed of 1/800 using the D200.

If you are indoors and need to use the flash you'll have to remember to turn it on - shutter priority won't automatically put the flash on for you.
