Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Hi, gang! I will probably be purchasing a new DSLR in the coming months, and I don't know where to start when buying one, or even researching what I need. Right now I have a fairly simple point & shoot (a Kodak C875), but I'm wanting to take my photography to the next level.

I also have some major travel opportunities coming up that I want to be ready for, so that's my main consideration.

I need suggestions for cameras and lens that:

travel well
take great landscapes and people shots
excellent for architecture, nature
night shots

I'll eventually want to try macros too, but that can be added later with additional lens if need be.

My questions probably show my ignorance, but maybe I'll eventually learn! With your help, I hope!

Any and all advice concerning brands, styles, models, lens, filters, etc very, very welcome and encouraged. Oh, and budget is a consideration too. I don't have to go cheap, cheap, but I also don't want to break the bank (or give Tim a heart attack!)

Blessings my new friends,
Tracy

Hi,
First I feel that you are not giving yourself near the credit you should.  AS far as your ignorance......Aren't we all!....at least in some manner or another.    Use your web skills to reserch particular products.   You probably will do no wrong going with either a canon or nikon product.  Simply comes down to your budget.   Make sure to pick up some "fast" lenses.   For instance I purchase only lenses that will give at least 2.8.  Have fun.
Be Blesses,
John
