Title: Challenge #37 - DEVOTION
Post by: Jeanne Lee on October 09, 2009, 12:15:31 PM

How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)

Here's our
37th Challenge for you all.

"D E V O T I O N"

(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi495.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Frr320%2FJubilee_bucket%2Fcrossandfish.gif&hash=d39302bd0149795f75a6218f82d2bd4951f94b98)

Details:

  • This topic was chosen by Ron Tesnear, who won our  last Challenge. He chose the new subject of "Devotion".  He says simply - "No limitations or parameters to add. Anxious to see what comes from this. ".  So let's see how many ways we can show this wonderful concept.  Put on those thinking caps and let your imaginations go!

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.  If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.  It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.  Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on October 25, 2009  and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it.  Please only enter photos taken by you.

  • Please put a short title above your photo.  We need the title for the poll listing.  If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please put it below your picture or in a separate post.

  • Please post only one entry per post/message.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!

First, Let me congratulate Ron for his well deserved winning shot, as well as the other amazing entries from equally talented photographers.

Second, I would like to thank Ron for picking a very challenging theme. This subject of
"Devotion" is quite interesting.

Let us all have fun sharing our visions of Devotion.

Grow Old Along With Me

Candidly shot in Toronto with Fuji Finefix S2 Pro. I could not resist the sweetness of
this elderly couple. All these years, they are still so devoted to each other.

Thanks Pat and Jeanne. It never fails to move me every time I look at that elderly couple's photo. How often do see couples as sweet as that?

Thanks, Steve.  Jazz is a great, fun friend.  The two elderly gentlemen are there often, chatting.  And the young couple was fishing on the large rock in the background, but let the tide sneak up on them.  It was fun watching his devotion to his "girl".

Pick-up Your Cross and Follow Me

[attachimg=#]

Shot in Jerusalem in 2005. The cross is the one used by Christian pilgrims in re-tracing the steps of Jesus, to Golgotha.
The sandals are mine. The view through the narrow door (which was shut at the time of the shooting) is En Geidi which
I layered for better effects. Fuji Finefix S2 Pro and Photoshop.

Thanks again, Steve.

I am glad I picked that one as my fourth entry, over the other shot which shows two elderly Chinese women performing their daily morning Tai Chi. You probably would have liked that one too. That one would have made it as my fifth. Well, maybe on one of my postings I will include it.

Life is short; let us make the most of it and praise God.

Hey, Steve!

Don't understimate your shots. I am a big fan of your shot: That's My Mommy. It is an excellent photographic interpretation of Devotion. It has the winning edge. It definitely won me.

Anyway, I wish you the best weather for your upcomng vacation. I hope and pray that it will be a safe and enjoyable one.

I suppose, I don't need to remind you to take your camera with you. It is the standard operating procedure. Right? Forget the luggage, but not the camera. Ha-ha-ha!!

Have fun on your holiday,
Mario (Laughing Peppers)
