How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)
Here's our
Thirteenth Challenge for you all.
AUTUMN SPLENDOR
Details: - Show us your best photos illustrating the Autumn Colours in your area for this challenge. Maybe the autumn colours are over (as they are nearly over here in Canada) but maybe you took some photos of them. Show us!
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.
- Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.
- The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on Nov. 6, 2007 and then we'll vote on them.
- Please put a title in your post for your photos. We need the title for the poll.
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!
Well, I'll start...

Get yours added today! FOUR entries!
Oh my! I can already see this is going to be a challange alright! I love these photos ... also love this time of year ... How will anyone be able to choose among such great photos?

WOW!!! What fantastic entries!
Do I have everyone in the poll above up to this point?
WOW all these great photos. I especially love the ones of Yosemite, looks like home to me. I used to leave their all summer every summer growing up. My Aunt was the Postmistress for 30 years and my Uncle worked for Yosemite Park and Curry Company before he went into the Real Estate business in Oakhurst. The shot along the Tuloumne river with Half Dome in the distance is gorgeous.

Marilyn,
Thanks for the comment. August was the first time I saw Yosemite in person in my life of 46 years. I fell in love with the place then and was really excited to be going back to CA on business for two weeks on 10/22. When they gave me the choice to fly back to TX on the weekend I said "No way!" I knew I was going back to Yosemite. I'd love to go there in the winter, although I can't imagine driving on those roads with snow or ice on them. ::)
I also enjoyed Yosemite. Not sure if I'll ever see it. It's certainly a long way from me.
Nice one of Darwen, Michael!
An early evening shot of our own town center of Darwen, on a murky November afternoon, using a bus shelter as a prop forthe camera.
Again a picture taken in Darwen town center, this time a study of that birch tree set against the rear whitewashed facade of the cafe
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6404.0;attach=950;image)
Another wet day, and the warm prospect of a baked potato stall, as autumn fails into winter.
A bit of radient colour comes to Darwen, as the trees on the side of a river parkway, adorn themselves in their autumn finery.

Hey Kathleen! So lovely to see you. I've been wondering how you've been doing.
I looked at all the photos displayed to date and what a beautiful collection. I think the colors of fall are so rich and certainly reveal the beauty that God has provided for our enjoyment as the life cycle of plants is once again completed.
I sure agree Larry! I think it's one of my favourite times!
What a beautiful bunch of photos! I agree that Fall has such richness and variety of colors. We are having Indian Summer here, temps in the high 70s, but this may be the last such day for some time! So I think I will go for a walk and just enjoy it!
Wouldn't you just love a quilt made of the photo of Kathleen's reflection shot?
For sure, Michael! That would make a lovely quilt!
I would love to go walking in Jims pictures...totally awesome!
Let's start voting tomorrow on these!
Then we can maybe get another Mini Challenge in in time for Thanksgiving or Thankfulness!
Hope this is alright with you all.
I'll open it to voting after midnight eastern time tonight.
"Autumn Tree"
I took this photo on my first trip to North Carolina, last year. We just missed the peak for leaves, but there was still plenty of color to suit my fancy.
Fixed it, Kathleen! The brackets were in the wrong place.
You missed the peak for leaves? We don't even come close to the colours you've got here where i live in Lancashire, the leaves just go rusty, and fall off, that's our autumn. :hello:

THANKFULNESS (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6428.0)
I've voted!
Have you?
Great to see several have voted.
Hope we can double that number!
Yup, Pat ... I voted yesterday  although it surely was NOT an easy choice. :-\
Can you ALL see the poll right above this topic where you vote?
I had one person write me saying that they hadn't noticed it.
That's where you vote folks. You vote by clicking on the little round radio buttons and make sure you have your TEN to vote on all at once.
I voted, too! I'm sure glad we get 10 choices. Would be way too hard to vote for only a few or one. So many great shots here! Way to go, friends!
Nice to see 18 have voted.
Let's remind all of our friends to get in here and vote!
Has everyone voted then?
I voted!
So did I! ::)
So glad everyone voted. What a fun challenge

Congratulations Everyone!
Now, due to the fact that I chose this topic, I'm going to pass the torch over to Kathleen who came in second to choose the next topic.
And please don't forget that we have the 14th Challenge (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=6428.0) going on right now with the Theme of "Thankfulness" so let's see lots of entries there.
Pat
Thank you so much folks! I appreciate the votes on my Small Cemetery on the Pennsylvania Mountainside. It was, indeed a lovely scene.
Congratulations to the others in the top 10 and I'd also like to congratulate ALL members who entered. I personally found this challenge a difficult one to vote in as there were so many good ones entered.
Lots of fun. Thanks for letting a relative 'noobie" to the board participate.
-Jim
Jim, I loved your entries and hope that someday I'll be able to visit that area.
Please look through your pics and see if you have any for the next challenge and congratulations once again.
Congratulations Everyone! There were so many great entries. :)

Kevin I couldn't have said it better myself! ;) It was really a "challange" to try to choose. :-\
I messed up on the voting procedure and only voted for ONE - at least it was the winner so I feel I contributed !
Yes, congrats to everyone! That was fun. Since fall is my favorite season I especially enjoyed seeing all those lovely shots!
Wordsculptor-Don't feel bad...I had two blonde moments regarding the challenge. First, I couldn't see the voting pole and then relized it was because I wasn't signed in, yet. DUH!!!!!!!!!! Guess I didn't realize the general public couldn't vote. Oh well.
My other blonde moment was when I wondered why the ones in bold type didn't match the percentage of votes. Oops, the ones in bold are the ones I voted for. Double DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was great to have a "people's/peers choice" type of challenge instead of certain judges with predisposed ideas of what they are looking for.
Pat-Congrats on your beautiful 1st. place, image!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh boy, now I have the pressure of coming up with the next subject, ha?
Hmm, I didn't even get THAT right - I voted for Autumn Tree which came second not first !
HAHAHAHA!!!
I'm sitting here giggling at the blonde moments and your voting Keith!
Yes, Kathleen, drop me a PM with your choice of the next topic and we'll set it up and announce it to the general membership.
came in late to look but it was wonderful. I am hoping when things settle, I can get back here req. If we move this time maybe will have new pictures. aw
Hey there, Alice!! It's good to see you here  ... (I'm Jaywalker at SN ... Bobbie knows me)
Quite a promotion to do a 'blonde' moment - my grey halo was really chuffed !!
Keith, I'm so glad for you! You always give me a smile on my face! Thanks for that!
Alice, it's great to see you back here.
I enjoyed looking at each and everyone.
