How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)
Here's our
Fourteenth Challenge for you all.
THANKFULNESS
Details: - Show us your best photos illustrating the theme of Thankfulness for this challenge. It could be a turkey, your family, or anything that illustrates the idea of being thankful!!
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.
- Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.
- The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on November 24, 2007 (which is after Thanksgiving in the USA) and then we'll vote on them.
- Please put a title in your post for your photos. We need the title for the poll.
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!
New Every Morning
I'm thankful that God says that His mercies toward us are new every morning!

New Life
Great start to the new challenge Woodsculptor,
Wonderful!
Two very different photos and both super special. Thanks ... I'm thankful for such great photographers among us! :)
"You Are My God"
Because He is, I am.
Because He died, I live.
Because He loves, I am loved.
Because He gives, I receive.
For this, I exalt Him.
For this, I am humbled.
For this... I am thankful beyond measure!

I could go on and on with reasons to be thankful, but I decided to keep myself to few words this time, hoping to speak through only my image and poetry.
BYW:The person in the photo with the outstretched arms is my oldest daughter. :D
Wow! So lovely, Kathleen.
I really like that!
I'm thankful for the bountiful Harvest the LORD has given my family and myself. I'm also thankful for my family and the LORD working in their lifes so that all of them might be saved. I'm thankful for the harvest of souls he has brought right to our doorsteps. I'm thankful for the drought we are experiencing in the Southeast. It helps us to learn to depend on him.
My entry is entitled:
A Bountiful Harvest of Thanksgiving
Psalm 95 verses 2-4 and 6-7.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great king above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

EDIT: We'll see if we can show your pic, Steve, to make it easier to vote. :)

Great image!
Anyway of putting it right here in the topic? Will smugmug allow deeplinking?
ONLY THREE MORE DAYS TO SHOW US YOUR
"THANKFUL" ENTRIES!!
I agree, it's lovely to see the scripture verse, Steve. Can we add it then? I can modify your post to put it in if you'd like.
"Deep" linking or "hot" linking or "linking back" all mean about the same and some sites don't allow it but some do and it seems your site does as the photo shows at least for me.
Just love that photo. We have many old order Mennonites near to my city of Guelph so that's quite a common scene.
It would be great if you could link it up to the picture. I'm sure Smugmug does aboput anything. I look into the Deep linking part. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving. We're getting answers to our prayers for drought problem. Hope it keeps on raining for a while. To God Be the Glory.
Steve
Pat, I would love it if you could put the verse in the picture. For some reason the picture came out much smaller. I'm going to have to check on how to do the Deeplinking.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving
Steve
Don't we all have much to be thankful for.
I'm thankful that I can go in here, and view all the talent you C.Per's have with your God-given talent.
Keep up the good work. Its much appreciated.
Love to all.,
Judy M. :)
I realised something when posting a couple of night shot photographs tonight, and that is, without the fellowship of Christian friends, I would have missed taking and seeing some of these most wonderful scenes, so here's a great big thanks to fun, fellowship, and photography. And jodrel Bank is just one of those places that God put in our way.
great shot of the observatory. (I looked it up on the internet) Radio receiver?
Here's another, having a place to sit in the woods shaded from the heat of the sun and able to photograph people enjoying the simple pleasures that an afternoon in the woods afords, perhaps not even knowing who this God is who has given them the wonderful provision of His common grace.
Yes Marilyn, and I think it was the worlds first large radio telescope.
Thanks for sharing your photos of thanksgiving.
Yes, Thank you for sharing your photographic thankfulness ... I am thankful for all of YOU!! :)
Griddled Chicken, in Britain we may not celebrate thanksgiving as a national holiday, and certainly not as a family get together, and thanksgiving, but food and the thankfulness of it was always an important element in the lives of the Jesus and His apostles, they always seemed to be dropping in on someone for a get together and a meal. In Acts chapter two, we read that the believers went daily to each others houses, breaking bread, with gladness of heart, and the Lord added daily to the church, those that were being saved, well here's some mouthwatering chicken, grilling over an open fire on a market in Albefuera, Portugal, makes your mouth water just to look at it, Michael.
Ah yes Michael it does look good.
I am thankful for my Sunday School Teacher/ Associate Pastor/ Worship Pastor I've learned so much from his class. He is so encouraging and full of the Joy of the Lord. Pastor Danny calls him Joy Boy. He and his wife Conny are so very caring.
This is Pastor Dennis.
Mmmmmm Michael, that chicken looks "good enough to eat!" :D
Thanks, Marilyn, for the opportunity to meet Pastor Dennis (and Conny).

Hi Steve!
I see you managed to do this! So I just edited it a wee bit. Hope it looks alright. I love your picture.
LEST WE FORGET
We should always be thankful for what our troops did during the World Wars to fight to give us freedom.
This is a memorial to D-Day.
Jane you met Dennis and Conny when you went to church with me. I know you remember them.

Yup ... That's what I said (didn't I?) ??? Anyway, that's what I meant. :)
Pat. Thanks for putting the scripture on the Picture I posted. :) I found a way to put the sciptures right on the picture. It's nice to see all the entries. I hope we never forget the men and women who died to give us Freedom. But most of all I hope we never forget the LORD Jesus for giving all who trust in him a Full and meaningful Life and eternal Life. John 14:6.

Not that many entries but I've opened the voting.
Vote for your top THREE before clicking on the SUBMIT button.
Winner will choose the next topic.
With all the hoopla about The schools and shopping Malls saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. What about pictures Poems, etc. telling what Christmas means to you.

PS. This is new to me so I may need some advice

Well done Fotobirder.
I loved your entry. I think everyone was a winner. I still don't know how all this works. Just give praise to God for such graet people on this website.
Steve
Congratulations to all the winners.
Ohhh, we got behind here and I do so apologize!
Kathleen suggested something to do with Winter for the next one and Fotobirder suggested something to do with What Christmas Means to Us
So, let's put them together.
Let's have some of both.
