Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

How to Use This Board

Here's our
40th Challenge for you all.

"Your Best Shot of 2009"

Details:

  • This topic was chosen by Don, who won our  last Challenge.
He explains:  "My selection for the next challenge is simple. I want to see your best shot of 2009. The subject matter can be what ever you want, no photos before 2009 please. So go search your photos and find that great shot!"

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.  If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.  It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.  Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on January 14, 2010  and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it.  Please only enter photos taken by you.

  • Please put a short title above your photo.  We need the title for the poll listing.  If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please put it below your picture.

  • Please post only one entry per post/message.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!

QuoteDon, how do I check to find out what my resolution is, and/or how do I change it (keeping in mind that I'm very nearsighted?) :( .

Minimize all open windows to get to desktop.  Right click and choose properties (xp) or personalize (vista).  Then choose display settings.  You will then see a slider that goes from low to high.  The lowest setting will be something like 800x600.  I'm on a 24" with the resolution set to it's highest at 1920x1200.  If you are passionate about photography, I highly recommend the highest setting along with a good monitor calibration kit. (link provided is what I use)

Now that the highest resolution is set, which is good for us photography buffs.  Another adjustment that can be made to help with reading this forum and the net in general, is Ctrl and mouse scroll.  While holding the Ctrl key down use the scroll wheel on your mouse and roll it up or down to adjust to your liking.

Another step would be to use the Firefox browser instead Internet Explorer.  Firefox also offers a "web developers toolbar", you are not required to be a developer or need the skills of such to use it.  HERE is a quick little tutorial.  A very niffty tool that is offered is "Resize".  So, even on my 24" I was able to see that the problem with the boards and the scrolling issue is at 800x600.  There is still a little bit of scroll at 1024x768.  No scrolling at 1280x1024 or larger.

Hope this helps.
