Hi Everyone!!!!
As many of our regular members are aware, we've had problems with our server we were on and the webhoster has moved us to a new server and most of us are now finding that our site is working like a charm--really quick!
Because I was unable to notify you all until now that we were voting, our votes are way, way down in number and we'd really appreciate it if you could all PLEASE click on the link in this email and vote for your favorite FIVE photos that describe the topic well in your estimation. When the voting if finished next Saturday, we'll get the winning member to choose the next topic and hopefully next time, all will be great!
Thank you for your patience for the past six weeks or so and let's thank our Lord for the way He has brought about this change for our site.
God richly bless you all!
Pat
How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)
Here's our
57th Challenge for you all.
"Mom and Dads".
Details: - This topic was chosen by goldenstarphoto, who won our last Challenge.
What a wonderful variety of subjects this offers! Thank you Doug for suggesting this new topic!
Please read carefully the "Details" about what is expected, and the rules for posting your photos.
Details as described by Doug:
"Show an example of parents interacting with their children or set up a portrait of your parents or a parent. Can either be a first time parent, or a parent from a long time past."
Let's encourage folks by letting them know we're enjoying their entries.
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen. Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.
- If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it. Instructions for doing this are in the "How to" section. CLICK HERE (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=9255.msg141517#msg141517) If you need any help, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.
- Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.
- The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on June 10, 2011 and then we'll vote on them.
- Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it. Please only enter photos taken by you.
- Please put a short title above your photo. We need the title for the poll listing. If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please put it below your picture.
- Please post only one entry per post/message.
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Let's ALSO NOT put any photos in this challenge labelled "NOT AN ENTRY" or anything that is not to be voted on.
Remember, this is a fun project!

Mario, I'm so sorry you couldn't get that last pic posted in time. I've moved it to the "Conversations" messages to avoid confusion here. ;)
I went to vote this morning and found I was too late! :'(
As many of you know, we've had serious trouble with the server we're on on our new webhoster. This weekend, they have moved our whole site to a new server and I'm so happy to see the speed in which we are moving around today.
I've asked Jeanne to re-open this challenge and we'll even allow more photos to be added. Let's consider it a brand new challenge. I'll send out an announcement to say we're accepting photos and then perhaps, next Sunday we'll open it again to voting and see what happens.
Is this suitable to all of you who entered?
I've been in Virginia for a couple of weeks and was unable to get online to enter or vote and neither did Paul. The photos entered are so special and I certainly enjoyed viewing them but maybe if I get a new Announcement out to all of our members explaining our new situation, we'll get more entries.
Thanks so much for understanding folks.
And may God bless you all.
That's find with me. But I think the main ones who need to agree is the ones that are ahead in the voting. If they'll agree, I certainly will.
Steve
Does that mean if we've already enter our limit of 4 that we can enter more photos. I don't remember just having 12 voters. Except the first time I entered on Thanksgiving a long time ago. There was about 15 voters and I still think you'll let me win that one to keep me around.LOL
Steve
Well, we have 15 entries and I'm certainly fine with leaving it that way but we'll definitely have to have more votes.

I wouldn't say that, Steve... But maybe there were some of our members (I was thinking) that didn't even know we had a Challenge going due to the fact that I couldn't properly let them know. But if you'd like to just re-open the voting, that's just fine with me as well.
We just need more votes for the 15 that we have. :)
I changed my post to be more in line with the way both of us were thinking. Maybe someone tried to vote and just couldn't get into the system. I was trying to post some Wildlife Photos and had the same problem. It's great that all of that is fixed. So, Let's extend the time like you said and people who haven't had an opportunity to vote can do that.I think it will make it much better. I think I stated that right!
Steve
OK Steve...
OK Let's open the voting again and let's say one week (next Saturday). I'll send out an Announcement and let's see what happens.
Maybe I'll just go and do the re-opening of the poll and we'll work on the Announcement.
Thanks Steve! :)
OK Folks!
Steve and I have made an "executive decision"!!! :)
Voting is now open for one more week!
Please vote for your favorite FIVE entries!!
Well, look what happens when I don't get here for a while! ;D
Pat, I'm so glad you went ahead and took care of extending the voting - but you forgot to unlock the poll :D It's unlocked now and the date for closing will be, as noted, Saturday June 25. So whenever you can get the announcement out, Pat... Let's hope that works now.
Sounds Great Pat! Maybe some of our members will come in and vote. This total is way to low.
Steve
Thank you for opening the voting again. Had I known, I could have scanned a photo of my granddaughter meeting her dad shortly after delivery. Brings tears to my mind each time I view it.
NOW, ahhhh, it's time to vote! :)
All of the entries are truly beautiful and thought provoking.
Ruth Ann
Thank you for voting. Looks like others followed your example.
Steve
Well, I voted and what a difficult time I had!
Added in my vote - what a delight it was to see these photos!!!!
Hear ye! Hear ye! I have voted! 0:-)
Ye hear too. I too voted.
It was a good idea to extend the voting! Much better now. And still another day to go, too.
I think I was the second one to vote --- the first time around.
I wonder why my avatar photo has now disappeared? Do I need to re-do it Jeanne, or can you fix it? :o
Jim, I think it was probably when we changed servers. A lot of our avatars disappeared so we re-uploaded.
Jim, mine is gone, too. I just haven't taken the time to upload it again. You can just go to your profile and repeat what you did before, to get yours back. Holler if you have any problem doing it.

Ok thanks, Pat & Jeanne!
Love your new avatar, Jim. My parents used a camera something like that many years ago.

Thanks Pat. It's an old Ansco folding camera I got at an antique-collectibles mall a while back. I think it's from the 1930's or '40's, but am not positive. I don't think it works, but it makes a good display item. :)
(The rose is from our garden).
Way to go, Jim!
I remember that camera! I wonder whatever happened to it?
I have a camera like that! It's my Mom's Eastman Kodak that she used all throughout my growing up years .... It's currently sitting on the counter in my kitchen. Lots of memories associated with it. :)
Mum and Dad's camera went into Murray's little camera museum, Judy.
We have our winners!
