How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)
Here's our
87TH Challenge for you all
suggested by Chocky who won the last Challenge.
"CHURCHES AND CATHEDRALS"
Details: - From Chocky: "Show us your best photos of CHURCHES AND CATHEDRALS for this challenge--Striking exteriors, intimate interiors, all sizes tiny to huge, city or country - Here is an opportunity to come up with some fascinating and creative pictures! "
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.
- Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.
- If you possibly can, please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it. But if you don't know, please post the picture anyway. We want to see your photos. :) Please only enter photos taken by you.
- The challenge is open now and will be locked to uploads on Saturday, November 15, 2014 and then we'll vote on them.
- Please put a title in your post for your photos. We need the title for the poll.
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!
Thanks to Chocky for suggesting this topic. She was the winner of our last Challenge entitled "Turning of A Leaf". Thanks Chocky!

A Roman Catholic cathedral, located in Cobh, Ireland. St. Colman's is a relatively new and young cathedral for Ireland. Construction began in 1868 and was completed in 1915. I took this photograph when I visited Ireland in 2011.

Mission San Antonio de Valero was established on the banks of the San Antonio River around 1718, and was a home for missionaries and their converts for a number of years. The chapel of the mission is what came to be known as The Alamo. I took this picture at night, because that was the only way I could get a clean shot without a bunch of people in it!
"Beginning in the early 1800s, Spanish military troops were stationed in the abandoned chapel of the former mission. Because it stood in a grove of cottonwood trees, the soldiers called their new fort "El Alamo" after the Spanish word for cottonwood and in honor of Alamo de Parras, their hometown in Mexico. Military troops–first Spanish, then rebel and later Mexican–occupied the Alamo during and after Mexico's successful war for independence from Spain in the early 1820s. In the summer of 1821, Stephen Austin arrived in San Antonio along with some 300 U.S. families that the Spanish government had allowed to settle in Texas. The migration of U.S. citizens to Texas increased over the next decades, sparking a revolutionary movement that would erupt into armed conflict by the mid-1830s."

Community Bible Church in Musselshell, Montana is my home church. Although it is a white building today, for many years this church was brown, and became known simply as "The Little Brown Church." This photo was taken last year when we celebrated the 100 year anniversary of worship at our church.
