Title: Got Any Favourite Photo Gadgets, Tell Us About Them
Post by: Summicron on September 05, 2008, 05:00:42 PM
Mine is a second hand Gitzo Gilux Reporter tripod I got several years ago, cost me 35 quid, the ball and socket head cost more than the legs, its rock solid, the legs slide in and out like silk, and I was re greasing the leg nuts this afternoon, they were getting reallydifficult to unlock, they just kept freezing solid. That tripod has been one of the best buys ever but I thought with the legs freezing up I might have to get a new one, its possible that the threads on the locking rings were just gunged up and needed cleaning with white spirit, and then re-greasing, seems to have done the trick.
Just gave me the idea to start this topic.

I bought a Lowepro Slingshot 200 sling bag for my camera gear, and I absolutely love it.  I had never heard of a "sling bag" and was about to buy a backpack, when I noticed the sling bags on Amazon.com.  Sling bags are like backpacks, but they can be rotated from your back to your chest, and you can get your camera out without having to take the bag off, like you would have to do with a backpack.

These Lowepro sling bags come in three sizes, model numbers 100, 200, and 300.  I guessed right when I ordered the 200, because it held my camera gear perfectly.

The Slingshot 200 was very comfortable to carry when I was hiking out in Idaho and Montana this summer, and it was so easy to get my camera in and out of it.

I was able to carry my Canon Rebel XTi, two extra lenses, my Canon 430EX flash unit, lens hoods, extra batteries, camera manual, and other stuff.

I highly recommend the Lowepro 200!

Those Lowepro sling bags sound good.  I have a Lowepro backpack and for the very reason you say, it's difficult to get your camera out quickly.

My Lowepro 200 sling bag is my first experience with a Lowepro product, and I am very impressed.  The bag is very well made and should last a lifetime.
