Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

"Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible,

through the word of God which lives and abides forever."

1 Peter 1:23

Trying to start my computer on Saturday I got the "black screen of death" oh noooo!

This is a serious matter. I tried to start in "safe mode" but I just got another black screen with "safe mode" written along the top, no good.

Tried to go back to "last known good configuration" another black screen!

Was at my wits end, I back most stuff up but there is always some files and photos in "my documents" and other places which were meant to be saved to a CD but were forgotten.

I thought; "three years of my life is partially in this computer!"

I went online with my wife's computer and read all the "blackscreen" queries it was all very disheartening.

So I went into the bios and changed the "boot up" to CD drive.

I was able to start from the windows CD.

I ran the repair programme- nothing- it couldn't be repaired!

O well here goes, a re-format, a reinstallation of windows.

So I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled.

At last a bright new desktop appeared absolutely nothing on it, and a lot of programmes to install.

My relief was very great believe you me It was painful to lose things, some very dear and familiar to me, but when I think of what it cost Jesus to "Wipe" me clean then it seemed so irrelevant!

God works all things together for good for those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose!

I thought about how He calls us from our sins and when we are given the gift of repentance, we are "wiped' clean of all the past "stuff" and we are given a new bright shiny start. Sometimes we miss some of the things that we have lost and left behind but not for long.

The joy of a new beginning is wonderful the slate is wiped clean and all is ahead.

Our relief, and joy, and gratitude are very heartfelt.

We must not install some of the "stuff" that we had in us before this time, no way!

We know that some of what was in there was no good and some of it caused the crash, We would be much better off if an "expert' reinstalled the new programmes and that is what we must do, bow to a higher authority, One Who knows how we are made and what is best for us a "System Manager" Who will always be on the lookout for the viruses and malicious ware!

He scans us continually and shows us the correct procedure as to how to function best.

His "manual" should be read every day and prayed over, also we must pray every day for those who still have a machine which will crash one day unless they give Him the controls, we also pray for those who's "machine" is sick, Thank You Lord God for lessons learnt.

Pat

Thanks, Chris, for posting this.

Something similar happened to me while in Virginia the last time and I had to buy a new hard drive.  If I hadn't backed up onto an external drive, I would have lost so much but thankfully I had backed up just a few days before.

Yes, the Lord uses many lessons to teach us things.

God bless you both.

That's such a good illustration, for computer users, of the way God deals with us!  It's really a classic.  I'm very glad it's here to read.

Pat and Al, so very nice to see your happy smiling faces once again, our very best wishes to your "better" halves.!
All our love to you,
Chris & Margit :D

Hi Chris!  What a great analogy!  I am so glad that the Lord knows how to wipe our harddrives clean, and install only good programs.  But it is up to us to remain vigilant about not allowing malicious stuff to get installed again.  Jesus is our virus protection!  :)

Wonderful way to look at it.  Yes, our hard drives are cleansed by the Blood, and kept free by our vigilance in pursuing His will.

Thank you for that illustration.  I too have had computer problems.  One very important file wiped out....you know the feelings that brings.

BUT as you say, our sins have been wiped out by the blood.  Praise God for that.  May God richly bless you this year.
