A great picture! What kind of fly is that?

Love this one, however I don't know what kind of fly it is!
I am not sure either.
It seems to be some type of hover fly.
This was taken on a hillside mountain meadow in Seneca Creek Wilderness, WV.
My boys and I were hiking along, and I was captivated by the flower, and it just so happened that the fly landed on the flower.
Just got a new macro lens so I was thankful to get to see it in action.
In the full high res version you can actually see the individual lenses on its eyes.
The entire fly was no longer than maybe 1/10th of an inch, it was very small.
Yes.
It looks like the 'Hornet Mimic Hoverfly' it's quite large.
