This little crab spider is perfectly colored to blend in with Mrs. Barbarian's marigolds, where he's taken up residence.  I've been watching him, and he's very successful.  But not this time.  The bee got away.

These are beautiful, and I did not notice the little crab spider until you mentioned it.

Beautiful picture.  Well done and no I did not notice the spider!  Did you see it (the spider) before you took the picture?

No, I had seen him capturing insects before, but until I looked at the result, I didn't realize he was so close to the bee.   The bee left right after the shot, presumably to escape.
