In the countryside, not too far from where I work, last autumn. This is the "aki-akane", the autumn darter.

He looks almost golden. With a name like "darter" it must be hard to catch a picture.
Well done. Is that a twig he is holding on to? I love the sharpness of the veins in the wings. Perhaps this would be a good one for the current challenge.
These do have a gold tint. And that is a spent cosmos flower it is clinging to. Thanks for commenting. I'm glad to share where and when I can.
