Title: Raynox fuzzball
Post by: gjtoth on December 01, 2010, 07:07:26 PM
I found this guy toodling around in front of our fireplace.  I believe it's a Wooly Bear catepillar but I'm no entomologist.  He's about 1 1/2" long.

I have seen them before...but have no idea what butterfly/moth they turn into.  Chloe, Scotty's sister may know.

Great pictures by the way.

I can't see the picture.  :'(
But maybe if it works later, I can tell you.

Hi, Chloe!  Great to see you posting here.   :)

I agree, Gary, that looks like a wooly bear caterpillar.  But like Judy, I have no idea what kind of butterfly/moth it turns into.  The size of the stripes is supposed to indicate what kind of winter is coming, but I don't know whether it's wider brown or black that means a severe one.  Notice how well informed I am?   ;D

I can see the pictures now. I have seen them kind of a lot, but I could never figure out what kind of butterfly/moth it will turn into. I've been trying to figure out. I'll keep trying, and when I find out I'll post in here. :)
Good pictures by the way!
