This Cat-Faced Spider may have become my new best friend! Harmless to people, this orbweaver is wrapping up a yellow-jacket or small wasp for a later meal. My wife isn't too impressed with the presence of this critter on our front porch, but she is nearly to the point of admitting she provides us some benefit! :laff: Just for reference, in the pose this picture was taken, she's about the size of a half-dollar coin.
Nice shot of ol prickley legs Ken. Wonderful markings on this one.
Good picture. Definitely a benefit capturing those wasps!
Eeeeewww! :o
Thanks all! Jeanne Lee, now you're sounding like my wife! Just look at the cute cat-face design on her back, and you might begin to appreciate this gorgeous creature a little more!
