Easy Peach Cobbler
1 can peach pie filling (or apple, strawberry, etc.)
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 Jiffy yellow cake mix
5 Tbs butter or margarine
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Pour the pie filling into a sprayed 8x8 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cut the butter into the cake mix until crumbly. Add pecans.
Spoon it on the pie filling evenly.
Bake at 350* about 53-54 minutes or until golden brown.
If you want a large cobbler, 9x13 pan, double everything, and use a
regular cake mix instead of Jiffy.
THIS IS REALLY AN EASY ONE, I WILL TRY IT. SEEMS TO BE JUST THE RIGHT SIZE FOR ONE PERSON.

Hmmm! Five ingredients!! I must try this one!!!
Wonder how it would taste without cinnamon. :-\
I'd sure give it a try without cinnamon, Jeanne. It's really too bad how Gene is allergic to this. :(
Yes, I am still amazed at how allergic Gene is of cinnamon. And really bad. How about nutmeg? Is Gene allergic to nutmeg? Also, if you use Apple Pie Filling, it might have cinnamon in it. Just a thought!
It's only cinnamon he's allergic to, Etta Sue. I always avoid anything in the cake or pie category that has apples - it's bound to have at last some cinnamon.
Somehow nutmeg doesn't really work as a substitute
Janice - Is "Jiffy" the name brand? We don't have that brand here., but a small pkg of cake mix would do wouldn't it?
Sure does sound good!

Janice ~ I made this but used Cherries. It is great. Kind of like a crisp. Really easy and good. I didn't look at the recipe before I shopped and I got White cake mix but it was still very good and easy. Thanks much!
Judy ~ Jiffy cake mix is a brand but if you have a small cake cake mix, it will do. Jiffy makes a 8 x 8 square cake or one layer.
Jeanne ~ I don't think there is a substitute for cinnamon if nutmeg wouldn't work. Never heard of artificial cinnamon!
