Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Sweetened Condensed Milk

1/2 C. Cold water
1 1/4 C. Nonfat Dry Milk Powder
3/4 C. Sugar

Measure water into a 2-cup glass measure.  Gradually stir in milk powder until smooth.  Microwave on high 3/4-1 minute or until milk is steaming hot.  (Do not boil)  Stir in sugar until dissolved.  Allow to cool before using.  Use as a substitue in recipes for one 14-ounce sweetened condensed milk.

Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Pat this doesn't call for butter!  It will be better for you than the one we used to use.

Thank you Etta Sue

Yes, I might try this and see if it's the same as the one I always used.

I had one recipe that called for butter/margarine that was cooked on the stove.  This one was simpler...no fat and in the microwave.

I was afraid to use it at first...sometimes these recipes call for costly ingredients.  But I bit my tongue and tried it and I could not tell a bit of difference with this homemade sweetened condensed milk and the can bought at the store.  Now I do make mine and refrigerate it over night.  Seems to thicken up to the consistency of the canned milk.

Try it!!!!

Sue

I decided to try and make this Monday evening.  I followed your advice Etta Sue and put in the fridge overnight.  Last night I made some 7 layer squares with it and took some samples into work.  Not one person even hinted that anything was wrong and when I said that I had used homemade sweetened condensed milk was asked for the recipe by several of my co-workers.

I'm going to be using this from now on.  Thank you for posting this.

Well, that's good news, Sue.  I still haven't tried it.  I have always used the one with butter and in the blender.  I never cooked mine, Etta Sue.

But I must try this one.

Thanks, Sue.  Glad you tried it and all your friends liked it and asked for the recipe, too!  It is sooooo easy, isn't it?

Sue

Unbelievable so, Etta Sue.  Thank you.

I thought I had printed this out but it wasn't with my recipes, so here I am again......Now to get a couple of "cans" of milk mixed up.
