I've seen a lot f those along side the roads around here.

Sharp and nice contrast.  Aparently parts of the cattail are edible.  Do you know what parts?

I don't know that.   I remember Euell Gibbons saying so, but then he ate almost everything.

One thing I did find out is that the roots are a good potato substitute! 

I do like the picture.
