Not the most spectacular flower, but to this Iowa country boy, an old friend.
Oh my...... what memories this picture has. Have you ever pulled the petals off the clover and tasted the nectar? As a child I would do that and Have taught each of my children to enjoy it as well.

Oh, I had forgotten that. But now it comes back. And wild columbine. That also has a sweet bit of nectar in each blossom.
