They are beautiful.  I love the way the sun shines through the trees as well being filtered by leaves and the direction changed by the trunks of the trees,

Well done you have captured this essence of light and shadow so very well!

The second picture just looks so strange, the grass looks so well manicured its like somebody decided to have a, horse race course, a golf course or something else happening, and the action all moving from right to left, I think that's because of the tree on the right. You enter in from the open end and disappear behind the tree. I like this there's an air of expectancy, just waiting for something to happen, and when it does it'll take you by surprise. Teddy bear's picnic happen. You can just imagine figures creeping out from behind trees.

Huge tracts of california woods were like that before Columbus arrived.   The Indians removed brush and other trees to encourage oaks from which they harvested acorns.   Families had rights to the acorns from specific tracts of forest, and they kept them park-like.

I can only imagine what things were like at that time. It must have been something to behold.

Come here to Northern Ontario.  We still have huge tracts of land that are bush.  The openings are marked by rock cuts and waterways.  Urbanization is coming here too though.  If you read Louis L'amour the first of the Sackett series "Sackett's Land" it tells of England being wild and marsh land and bogs.  Too bad that the urban sprawl has taken so much of the wild out.

Michael I can see what you are seeing in that picture.

It does look as though the grounds have been carefully tended.  Both shots are beautiful.
