This stretch of creek reminded me of an illustration in a book of fairy tales I had as a kid. I tried to give the image that same sort of attractive but ominous feeling that I got from the book.
I think you succeeded quite well! Good one.
Ominous indeed! ;)
I can imagine an ogre hiding near by. You got the feeling you wanted! Do you remember what the story was?
The story was about this German hunter who was far from home. He came to a dark stream and as he approached, he had a feeling that the place was the property of a forest gnome. He called out, "please excuse me, if I fill my canteen from your stream, but I am very thirsty."
He filled it, and drank and nothing else happened. But when he got home, his canteen was very heavy. When he broke it open, it was filled with precious crystal with veins of pure gold.
That shaft of light is marvelous! Oh how I'd like to sit or stand somewhere down by that creek for an hour or two. Wonderful shot!
I do enjoy myths. This sounds like a good one.
I do like the picture, it is ...ummm...expressive!
Really nice Barbarian. The light just dances all through that one. :thumbsup2:
