This is what we call a "gumamela" in the philippines. I think it's called a hibiscus outside the country. I was just walking through my old University this morning with a friend and decided to snap some photos that I can send to my mom through email. she says i never take enough photos of happy things. she really loves flowers.

Very nice shot.   :thumbsup:I like the shallow DOF and bright colors.  Pretty flower, too.  Your mom will be pleased.  This is a happy shot for sure!

Love the DOF, and the fact that you shot the flower from the side instead of directly into it.
