Title: Tulip
Post by: SmokeytheDog on June 07, 2010, 03:39:07 AM
I'd like your opinion on this photo. I'm not sure this photo of the tulip works. I tried softening the edges, but does it just make it look like a red blob?

I can't help with the technical questions, but I like it.   ;)

A little more stem would have helped.  Still a beautiful picture!

Out of focus.

You know, I think he's right. It's not just vignette around the edges like I wanted!

I think the composition has some great potential. Judy may be right more stem might have helped. Although, I think no stem and just a little less bloom would be good as well. Personally I think it's worth trying to setup again in the future and keep working it. It makes me want to force grow a tulip and try it myself.
Funny thing, I don't always know what the shooter was wanting to convey, but I'm sometimes like Ford Motor Company and think I have a "better idea".  :coffee:
Keep up the good work.

My simple opinion is go back and re-shoot it from different angles and lighting contrast.
I am old fashioned, I like flowers to look like flowers.

I am too, but I have seen some great non traditional shots on this, and other sites, I thought I'd try something different. Sign, now I have to wait till next year.
