Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I *STILL* haven't learned to keep a camera on me at all times.

I didn't want to leave one in the car because of heat/cold, but my memory is so...how do I say this nicely? Let's just say...challenged  ;) that I forget to take one with me.

Which leaves me kicking myself half the time!

The other morning I went down to the Rogue River for a few minutes alone.

There was a BEAUTIFUL heron sitting there on the bank just looking out. Perfectly still. I think it was mocking me, because every time I have a CAMERA they are sitting on the other side or just leave. It somehow knew.

As I sat there admiring it, I heard splashing and yelling. I went along the rocks to the river bend and saw a fishing boat coming along. Two men and a woman, and the woman had something on her line. The noise drew a few other park goers and we watched as they caught and netted the biggest salmon I've ever seen someone with a fishing pole catch! It was unbelievable. Everyone clapped and cheered for her, and they pulled up the boat and held the fish up for photos.

So what do you do so that you are able to capture these moments at a...moment's notice?  :) How do you keep a camera both safe AND available?

Maybe you could get something like this Olympus stylus 770

It's waterresistant, shock resistant and freeze resistant

Thanks, but the main problem I've had with cameras is the heat...especially forgetting it's in the car and leaving it in there with the windows up. The temps here in the summer can get near the hundreds outside.

Right now, about the only thing I trust myself with is a disposable.  :-\

Would a digital still be a problem?  I'm thinking that a small, relatively inexpensive digital would be great, because then you can download to your computer.

What a site that must have been!

I've also been in many situations where I've not had my camera and wished I had.

That's probably what I'll end up doing.

I just have a mental block against using digital. It seems so impersonal.
