Title: Good Photography Schools
Post by: Sanna on July 11, 2005, 09:32:27 PM
Hi Everyone,

I'm 25 years old and am absolutely in love with photography. I come from Finland where I got myself a degree in business and admin, but I find that that's not what God made me for, I guess I just don't enjoy it. I enjoy taking pictures. My husband and I are about to move to Denver CO where I wish to attend a photography school. My problem is that I have only found the Art Institue of Colorado and would like to have some other schools to compare with.

So I turn to you... What would be a good photography school in Denver area? Any suggestions and recommendations are GREATLY valued and appreciated  :)

Thank you so much and God bless you all!!!!!!

I totally don't know about schools in denver, sorry...  It's actually hard to rank what a "good" photo school is sometimes because it really is a difference in styles that they teach sometimes (altho some are obviously pretty bad).

As for offical best schools that are ranked, I believe that Columbia College Chicago is still one of the best in undergraduate and School of the Arts Institute in Chicago as well but they're ranked no. 1 for Grad school.  San Fran Art Institute is up there as well...

I graduated with a BFA from Columbia but truthfully, I'd say just go visit some of the schools/classes in your area and pick one where you like the facaulty and you feel like you can learn from.  Basic photo techniques here are generally  the same basic photo techniques there but it takes a good teacher to train your eye.

hope that helps.
