Title: Photography Books
Post by: Pat on January 19, 2005, 07:00:23 PM

I've been thinking of buying a couple of good books to help me in my photography hobby.

I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions of some good one.  I'm thinking of actual book rather than magazines.  Maybe even the library would have some.

Someone suggested to me that this is a good book...

"The Art of Photographing Nature" by Martha Hill and Art Woolfe

Do any of you have any suggestions?

By far my favorite: Rick Sammon's Complete Guide to Digital Photography: 101 Lessons.

That was the book I used when I created an independent study course at my school. It is very easy to read. One of the big reasons I got it over some of the others was that it had more pictures. Funny, I know. But most of the other books I had looked at had more words that pictures. Seems kind of contradictory for photography right?

Also, any of the books from Amherst Media are good choices. They are really good. I've read several and they are very detailed.

I'm writing that down and will check that out, Ryan next time I go to Chapters Bookstore.

I like pictures too.
