Title: problem with pc
Post by: aladavlis on December 17, 2006, 02:08:54 AM
Hello,
I am having trouble with my Internet explorer. It is doing some very odd things.Sometimes it will completely close the page i am visiting for no reason or it will be very slow loading pages and when i say slow i mean very very very slow for eg i tried to google something and after 10 minutes of the page trying to load i gave up.I thought that it was perhaps the topic i was searching so i tried putting in random things to see if that made any difference but it didn't.Another problem i had was when i was on a forum and clicked on a link and nothing happened i tried to open a new tab and that wouldn't work either and it would let me access any options that are in my tools menu.i had to restart my computer.Just to let you know i have high speed Internet connection. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me with this problem.

Sorry you are having trouble.

I've just gone to many pages using both Firefox and IE and had no trouble.  I do hope that you get it solved.

And by the way, :welcome: to Christian Photographers!

Hi, Have you called your high speed provider. They have always been able to help me. Sometimes when there are a lot of people using  the Internet it takes a very long time to load even with high speed. I have cable Internet. Have you cleaned out you history, temp files, cookies and defragged lately. Perhaps your PC could use a system restore. What are you using XP, Vista, 98, 2000? How much storage do you have and  How much memory do you have? My XP is running at 512, when I bought it it was 128 I have added memory and that speeded it up quite a bit loading.

In addition to Marilyn's suggestions.....

Have you recently run a virus scan?  If your computer is infected that may slow things up also.
