Title: Program for resizing photos
Post by: RuthV on September 10, 2011, 05:37:55 PM
Some time ago a post was made about a program that could be downloaded that automatically re-sized photos to 500 x 600 pixels or less than 175 KB in size.
I had downloaded it on my old computer, however it doesn't seem to have made it over to my new one.
Can anyone help to remind me the name of this program or the site I can go to to get it?
Thanks!!!

I don't know which one you used but I have an old copy of PSP and you could use that.  I can give you sone direction for cropping and resizing as well.  Give me a call and let me know.

Thank you Judy..... It's a little late now..... I think I will be heading for bed soon.

The program I had was where I could drop the file onto the icon on the desktop and it would be immediately re-sized.

I'll try to call sometime tomorrow afternoon. We have to borrow a car, as mine is going into the shop for repairs. :sulk:

Ruth, I don't know of any program that does what yours did, but there are free programs that you can use, and there are directions for using a couple of them in the How To topic.

Shrinkpictures (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8291.0)

Irfanview (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8290.0)

or if you want to get Judy's PSP:  PSP (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8288.0)

If you need help, let me know.

Thank you Jeanne Lee!!

I recently got in from a very busy day!!

I did find the post I was looking for. It's

I'll bookmark your suggestions too, in case Free Batch Photo Resizer doesn't work in Windows 7 (so many of my old programs don't). I was looking to put a picture of the apples from my apple tree, somewhere, to see if anyone can identify the type....

Thank you again Judy & Jeanne Lee.
