Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Strength Made Perfect

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
(2 Corinthians 12:9)

When you run into an impossible situation, a situation you simply don't have the strength or the ability to handle, are you often tempted to simply give up and accept defeat? Don't! Instead shout, "Glory!" because the Word says God's strength is about to be made perfect in you.

The word translated "strength" in this scripture is dunamis. It means "God's miracle-working power." Just think about that. When your human strength ends, God has promised that His miraculous power will bring you through!

If you'll look in Acts 14, you can see that promise in action. The apostle Paul was stoned by a group of Jews, taken out of the city and left for dead. Paul's human strength had ended. He was absolutely powerless.

But the disciples gathered around him and prayed, and the Lord raised him up and he went on his way. In other words, when Paul didn't have enough human strength to overcome, God's miracle-working power was sufficient for him. It enabled him to be an overcomer in spite of his weakness!

So, if you are facing a crisis today. If you're sick and medicine has failed you. If your finances are out of control. If your family is falling apart. If bad habits have you hopelessly bound. If you've done absolutely all you know to do and you still haven't gotten results. Then rejoice! For when human strength ends, the power of God excels! Only believe! God's grace is sufficient for you!

Hi everyone,

Janet, that is a very powerful devotional thought for today and one that probably fits the situation for many of us.

Samantha, I see you plan to be in Atlanta.  We actually live probably 60 miles or so from that area, which is on the West side of Atlanta.  We live about 30 miles East of Atlanta.  I hope  you have a very nice visit to Atlanta.  It is going to be hot here today, up to 87 or 89 (can't remember which).  There is a lot of fog in the area this morning.

Marilyn, hope your new job(s) become known to you quickly.

Pat, I hope you are looking forward to having your granddaughter live with you for awhile.  It will be different having another person in the house after having it all to yourself for quite awhile.

Nothing much on my schedule today.  A couple of catch-up projects and then more work on my computer.  My wife has a physical exam scheduled for this morning.  I know she will be glad to have that over.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Carol

Janet:  A very thought-provoking study this morning.  Thanks a bunch!

Larry:  I hope that Pat's physical goes very well.

Carol

Marilyn

Good Morning.

Great devotionalthis morning Janet thank you.

Larry God is in control. I know there is just the right job for me out there and that  will find out very soon, I got 3 calls yesterday, I turned down one because it was a 12 hour shift at night.

I am going for another blood draw this morning before I go to Jan's. This time I am going over to thehospital where I know they will be able to get enough blood.

Morning everyone! Hey Pastor Al, I get whole beans from Sam's Club...Hawaiian Hazlenut. Mmmmmm! :thumbsup:

I read about Marilyn waiting for new jobs, and I read about many people who are out of work, etc., and I am once again thankful to be on the retired side of all that!  Sometimes we're scratching for money, sometimes I admit that I worry about having enough for this or that need that's coming up, but, over all, I'm glad to be retired!  I even get into dreams sometimes in which I wonder whether I'll still be employed tomorrow, and then I wake up and say, "I don't have to worry about that anymore!  Thanks be to our Father for providing for us!  The only thing I have to be careful about these days is thinking I'm secure in something or someone other that my Father in heaven.  He is, finally, our ONLY security in life or death.  Thank You, Father!

Hey there AL ... I totally agree with your post!   :thumbsup:  I also agree with Marilyn and this morning's devotional (thanks Janet) ... God is in control of everything in my life ... His grace is sufficient ...  His strength is made perfect in my weakness ... He supplies all my needs .... What a great Life in Him!  I wouldn't want it any other way.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Good Afternoon!!!  Great devotion, Janet!!

Kitty called me this morning and said that she had time to help me with my mattes.  I am going to enter three photos in the Indiana State Fair.  I printed them last evening.  Kitty helped me cut my matte board into 16" x 20" a while back.  So today I went to her house and together we matted my 8" x 10" photos.  The State Fair is very precise.  The photos have to be permanently mounted and a certain thickness and no bigger than so and so and no smaller than so and so and no printing on the picture or the mattes....da da da da!  But they are ready now.  I will get my entry blanks to affix to the back of the pictures and then we will take them to the fair I think July 29th...not sure of that...have to check out the book again.

So that has been my day!

Marilyn ~ The nurses have a hard time getting blood from me and finally after 30 years I was told to drink lots of water before a blood draw....it hydrates my veins!  They have had no problems getting blood since I have been drinking water.  Also today, Kitty checked my blood sugar and it was 85.  And that was after I had eaten breakfast.

Does my top of my post and bottom of my post graphics go together or what???  That Dancing Kitty looks so much like my Inky!

SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Marilyn

Before I went to have my blood drawn, I drank lots of water, jumped on my mini trampoline, lifted my weights about 25 times, put on  a long sleeve t shirt and a sweater. I was ready and they got two yes two vials very quickly.

Now I am having a cup of tea before I take the dogs for a walk.

I have to go to Eureka again tonight. Bummer. This is really burning up my gas.

Hi Everyone...

It's so nice to read all of your posts.  I had a few errands today and now I have a meeting tonight to go to and so not home much today at all.

I wonder where Anthony is these days?

Al, sometimes I dream about my old job and wake up with a start and wonder if I missed my bus run!  :lol:

Talk to you soon, (after my meeting)

Give of Your Best to the Master
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Howard B. Grose, 1851-1939
Musician:  Charlotte A. Barnard, 1830-1869

Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof,
even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
Numbers 18:29

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Throw your soul's fresh, glowing ardor
Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave.
Give Him your loyal devotion;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Clad in salvation's full armor,
Join in the battle for truth.

Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart.
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave.
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Naught else is worthy His love.
He gave Himself for your ransom,
Gave up His glory above.
Laid down His life without murmur,
You from sin's ruin to save.
Give Him your heart's adoration;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

I have decided to work my way up to swimming a mile a day, so today I added four laps, for a total of 20, which is 5/8 mile.

Had a busy day and am tired.  I hope all of you have had a good one.  I have to take Beth to Liberal tomorrow for both occupational and physical therapy, appointments at 11:00 and 1:00.  So I should have time to take my media card to Wal-mart and get prints of the wedding photos.  :)

I must go visit with my hubby, we have been "passing like ships in the night" today.

School Bus runs?  Do I miss them?  NO not on your life.  But I do miss the truck.  Driving the truck you don't have to worry about the cargo smoking, or standing up or bad language.  I do miss the truck but not the school bus.  I have let my school bus classification go about 3 years ago.

We have had a hot humid day here, rain has compicated the humidity.  I am thankful we don't have the problems Rick called us about today. Philladelphia had so much rain I was told that the roads were flooded.  Thankfully we are on a hill and only have a wet basement when there is a heavy spring runoff.

John is gone for another 4 days.  So I am going to veg out tonight and tomorrow if the weather is dry get into the garden and weed around the good growth.

HAve a good night everyone.
Judy

When human strength ends, the power of God excels! Only believe! God's grace is sufficient for you!

I would like to thank those of you who have prayed for Wendy and the ICBC settlement problem that has gone on for the past four years.

Things were looking rather bleak regarding a fair settlement and they met with the mediator yest. They only were asking to be treated fairly...something that does not happen much in this world today.  Enough to cover the horrendous medical costs incurred and future cost that will come.  ICBC is not noted for fair...But then so many people are consumed by greed and not honest.  Sort of the 'one bad apple spoils the barrel'....

Marilyn and her church prayer warriors prayed Sunday night, as did some of us who are close to Wendy.  They went in with all the medical records and bills, were told that there was absolutely no doubt about the seriousness of her condition, spent five hrs. dealing with all the details, and a reasonable settlement was made.  No one is getting rich.  No one wanted that....but they will be able to get on with life as it now exists, and the terrible financial stress will end for all of them.

Not a harsh word was spoken.  The mediator and the ICBC rep. (A woman) both hugged Wendy and told her to never stop being cheerful and positive.  They hoped that one day something will be found to end her physical pain.

Ralph was raised a Catholic.  Wendy is a Baptist/Anglican.  Yes, it is possible to be one thing and attend another....They will be married 25 years in August.  Most marriages do not survive this kind of change and stress.  They have changed that statistic.  God is able to do great things.

I thought some of you might like to hear a Praise Report.  Think it needed to be said.  To all of you who have prayed for her and family, I thank you.  None of us can know how long we are going to live.  I plan to treasure every minute with my family.  Salvation and Family are God's greatest gifts.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Pat

What a wonderful report, Liz.  I have a little sticky on my monitor here with both your name and Wendy's on it and it sure helps me as I pray daily for our CP family.  This is good news indeed.

Thanks so much for the report.
