Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where He made the water wine.
John 4:46

Jesus.came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom He raised from the dead.
John 12:1

Cana and Bethany! How insignificant they were until Jesus came. These two quiet villages, one in Galilee and the other in Judea, are now remembered as the scenes of His first and last miracles.

At Cana He increased their joy.

At Bethany He alleviated their sorrow.

Still today, in grace, He enters into the joys and sorrows of His people wherever they are.

Jesus Calls Us
(Click to hear music)

Cecil F. Alexander, 1852

Jesus calls us o'er the tumult
of our life's wild, restless sea;
day by day his sweet voice soundeth,
saying, "Christian, follow me!"

Jesus calls us from the worship
of the vain world's golden store,
from each idol that would keep us,
saying, "Christian, love me more!"

In our joys and in our sorrows,
days of toil and hours of ease,
still he calls, in cares and pleasures,
"Christian, love me more than these!"

Jesus calls us! By thy mercies,
Savior, may we hear thy call,
give our hearts to thine obedience,
serve and love thee best of all.

Hi everyone.  It looks like I will be first today until someone else is posting as I write.  Not much going on here this week as it is the beginning of the summer lull, which I always enjoy as a time to get some things done that I have put off and not have to rush to do it.

Liz, so glad to read your praise and know that this part of the ordeal seems to be over for Wendy and the family.  It has certainly been a long drawn out event.  Taking away the financial worry is one less thing to for Wendy to deal with.

Marilyn, it sounds like things are lining up for you in the job area.  Glad the blood draw went better.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.

JudyB, hope you will be able to get into your garden.  One thing about living where I do is that even after heavy rain it seldom is muddy for more than a few hours.  This is so different that it was in Missouri where it could stay muddy for days.

Janet, hope you don't overdo on the swimming as you work up to the mile.  However, know that is wonderful exercise.  Hope the phyiscal therapy appointments go well for Beth and for you.

Etta Sue, glad you got your photos ready for the fair.  It sounds like they have very precise regulations.  Guess that lets them focus on the picture and not the framing.  For some reason I don't think Inky would like to be dressed up like your graphic.  :)

Hi Jane, Al. Carol and Ritz.

On Friday several of us that are involved with the Computer Learning Center have agreed to go there for an hour interview with a man who is working on a PHD on the area of "Older Adults Perceptions of and Experiences with Computer Technology.  We got a one page survey to fill out to take with us for the Interview.  I think there are about 6 of us being interviewed.

Well it is about time to go to coffee.  Hope this is a glorous day for each and everyone visiting CP today.

Carol

Enjoying today's music selection.

Larry:  Enjoy your day!

Marilyn:  That trampoline will get your heart rate going - good for your idea on the blood draw.

Pat:  Good morning to you!  What's up for you today?

Anthony:  What is happening in your area?

Best to everyone.

Carol

Etta Sue

Liz ~ What a wonderful praise!  One, that part of the ordeal is over....two, now Wendy and the family can get on with living.  I, too, will be praying for a cure/healing!

Marilyn ~ Glad the blood draw went better.  Seems you already knew to hydrate and pump up those teeny-weeny veins.  I go the end of July for a blood draw to see how my blood sugar is.  I was pleased with what it showed at Kitty's yesterday but I best not be over-confident.

Pat ~ What a great devotion today.  God is everywhere...in our elations and our disappointments.  Thanks bunches for that reminder.

Judy B ~ I sometimes wish I had a garden...then I gain back my insanity!  When driving through Amish country in northern Indiana, we see many many vegetable and flower gardens that are thriving.  And laundry on the line and pristine yards and farms and white, white houses!!

Janet ~ I wish I lived near a public pool.  I love to swim.  There is a pool at the hotel in Grand Rapids but I have yet had time to indulge.   :'(

Larry ~ I had to laugh when thinking of trying to get that bikini on Inky!  She sure wouldn't stay still for that!!  But the cat looks like Inky!

Hi Carol, Jane, Ritz, Kevin, and everyone else that I didn't mention that might be reading these posts today!  Everyone have a God-blessed day!

Me, I am doing laundry today and packing.  Will check the forecast to see if I need to mow again.  I can't do it Thursday or Friday but if rain is forecasted for Saturday then I had better mow today.  I am off to Grand Rapids again tomorrow and then we take a two week break!  Looking forward to it.  But I can't enjoy it too much because we start up again the third week of July until probably the end of October.

I have a little bistro table with two chairs on my deck with a blue umbrella.  Ivalou called me last evening and said while I was at Kitty's, she was going to her garage to leave and my umbrella was beside her drive.  It was opened and the wind must have lifted it out of the table and blew it over to her house.  Then she said...do you know where your umbrella is now?  I said, no.  She said, look outside.  I opened my side door and there was my umbrella.  The wind took it up again.  So now it is closed down.  So Pat....unless you want to chase down your umbrella, close it up!!

Back for posting the NEM for tomorrow later!

Larry need some help.Ever since I instaled IE7 my computer is running much slowe than it ever has. I have a cable connection and it was real fast before IE7. How can this be corrected. I have just installed Firefox again and am tempted to go back to IE6 I also installed the recommended patch to make 7 think it was 6 and run better but it didn't work either.

Well Good morning everyone. Etta Sue I am sure glad it is not me doing all that driving back and forth those many miles every week. I used to drive a lot of miles twice a week to visit an Ex husband in prison.
When I saw that cat yesterday I immediatly though it was inky but I really knew it couldn't be.

Well today is the interview. I really do need to have either one more client with a few hours daily or one with  at least 6 hours daily. The latter would allow me to quit Fay, and have onle one other job beside my once weekly with Jan.She told that if I fond another job that paid better I could leave her.

I too am doing some laundry this morning. We have the same guest tonihgt at Bible Study that we had on Sunday, so I really looking forward to tonight.

Good Morning!  :coffee:

Thank you Pat, for the Word.

From Isaiah...

Seek God while he's here to be found,
      pray to him while he's close at hand.
   Let the wicked abandon their way of life
      and the evil their way of thinking.
   Let them come back to God, who is merciful,
      come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.

Good Evening and thanks for the devotional

I have got all of the reading done but I am sure that I will fall behind again.  We still have issues involving our extended family and only God can  be the guide that will help the folk involved work things out.

School is almost over the both of us have to go out tomorrow for approx. 1/2 an hour.   The company had a breakfast this morning and in an hour we will be headed out again for a strawberry supper. yummy

I believe it was Carol that asked about coffee and perhaps tobacco. Marilyn you memtioned that it was Mormon and yes you are correct their is the Reorganized Mormons and just the Mormans.  I have done a little checking and this topic is mentioned in the Book of the Doctrine And Covenants  The tobacco and strong drink  is talked about in Section 86 1 d. and also  again in Section 119 3d.  I thought that there was also something in the Holy Bible but at the present have not been able to find anything.  Another note I was told that it was only the Reorganized Mormons that used the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. but I am not totally sure on that.

I must get ready to head out so will check in again.

I have a very urgent prayer update on Rick's father.

After taking the wrong drugs he has gone downhill quite rapidly.  I received an email, which told me his hemoglobin was down at 78. (It should be 140 - 170).  He was taken to the hospital after the doctor ordered 2 transfusions.  They have kept him in hospital.  He has internal bleeding shown rectally, which indicates a return of bowl cancer.  They are going to operate after a cat scan.  This dear man whom we have come to love has signed a DNR order.  Please pray for the family, Dad is at peace, whatever the outcome.  Rick is taking this very hard.  He (Rick) knows you are praying.

Thank you

Judy

Ruth The Mormons (as you said just Mormons) Uses the Doctrine and Covenants,
Also the big black book of Mormon Doctrine it tells about Alcohol, Caffeine and Tobacco. I was a Mormon for years before I got saved, I was inactive for  about 7 years prior to learning the truth and getting saved.

The Mormons use the Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price in addition to the King James Authorized Version of the Bible as scripture.

The Book of Mormon starts just before the Tower of Babel.

Papa John

I'll just drop in for a minute tonight.  Things are going well here.  We have been having some beautiful early summer days.

Good to see everyone.

Judy B., sorry to hear about Rick's father.  I had colon cancer and lost a lot of blood and had six transfusions.  Because of prayer and God's grace the surgery got all of it.  I haven't had any symptoms but I am scheduled for another colonoscopy this year.  Sometimes when everything looks bad prayer can change things.

1Thes 5:15-18
15   See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16   Rejoice evermore.
17   Pray without ceasing.
18   In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(KJV)

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Because He Lives
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by William J. Gaither
copyright 1971

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matthew 28:6

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

Thank You Papa John for that word.  It is much appreciated.

Pat that is one of my all time favourites.  I cannot sing it though, Too many tears!

Rick has left for Earlton.  Not sure which hospital his Dad is in, probably the Liskard hospital.  I will know more tomorrow.

Hello all!  Seems like the hurrieder I go, the behinder I get.  Of course it is nothing compared to Bernard.  Since Monday morning, he has worked about 48 hours (this week alone -- 23 hours straight Tuesday).  Talk about a tired man.  :(  Hopefully, it will slow down in the next day or two.  Keep him in your prayers.

Gotta run.

love yourns

Ruth

Marilyn:  It must be the Mormons and not the Reorganized Mormons  that use the The Pearl of Great Price as I have not heard or seen that one.  As we all say there is only one True Book and that is the BIBLE.    Praise the Lord.
