JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Morning Devotional...

Behold the man!
John 19:5

Behold your King!
John 19:14

Twice in one hour, Pilate, the pagan Roman Governor, quoted Old Testament Scriptures (Zech 6:12; 9:9). Not that he knew it, but he was in the hands of a sovereignty greater than that of Rome or Caesar.

Pilate never, ever, would have had a man before him like this Man, and he certainly never would have had on trial at his judgment seat a man who was king, as this Man.

But this Man was unique.

Whether he spoke in sincerity or in irony, Pilate spoke truth when he called, "Behold the Man ... Behold your King."

Crown Him with Many Crowns
(Click to hear music)

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Revelation 19:12

Author:  Matthew Bridges, 1800-1894, and
Godfrey Thring, 1823-1903
Musician:  George J. Elvey, 1816-1893

Crown Him with many crowns, The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! how the heav'nly anthem drowns All music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King Thro' all eternity.

Crown Him the Son of God Before the worlds began:
And ye, who tread where He hath trod, Crown Him the Son of man;
Who ev'ry grief hath known That wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own, That all in Him may rest.

Crown Him the Lord of love! Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above, In beauty glorified:
No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his wond'ring eye At mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o'er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife For those He came to save;
His glories now we sing Who died, and rose on high,
Who died, eternal life to bring, And lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of years, The Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres Ineffably sublime!
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me:
Thy praise shall never, never fail Thro'out eternity.

I am blessed reading the different ways we all choose to worship.  God is so wise in creating us with our uniqueness..........right down to how we humble ourselves before our God and King, and worship in holiness.  He created us, remember, for HIS pleasure.  :)  Some are quiet, contemplative, and others are so filled with joy they can't help but say something, sing something, move something. haha

I've been in many church groups with differing ways of worship.   What we all want, and what God desires, is that HE can do what HE wants in our midst.  Also that the Holy Spirit be able to move freely, and not be hindered by man's schedule.  We don't ever want to ask God to move in our time, but make ourselves fully available for His timing.

I remember when I first met the Lord.....having never been in church as an adult, and finally "trying" church, all excited to be there.  I cried when I left, and my heart was broken, because even being a brand new Christian, I knew that He wasn't welcome where'd I'd just been.  It was a lesson I'll never forget.  If a brand new Christian is aware of the Lord's Presence, or non presence, then we should be able to.  And that's all that matters.  Is He Here in our midst?  Is Christ welcome here?  Is He welcome to come upset our timing, our agenda, our own way of doing things?   I

I believe this is just what God is about to do. :)  Oh, how we need that.

Anyway.........we are all in agreement.  There are times for silence before the Lord, when almost your own breath is too loud, and there are times when it would be almost impossible  not to respond to His Joy with laughter and praise and singing and dancing. :)   It's our heart He wants.

ok...just my thoughts on the whole thing.  Mostly I'm quiet, but sometimes I'm loud. lol

blessings,  Nita

I am up and going.  our local taxi company does telephone wake-up calls.  It is am advantage because of all the summer power outages we have.

Pat enjoyed both yesterday's devotional and today's.

It is so quiet in the house.  Kassie is quiet so much quieter when we are alone.  I enjoy the one-on-one time withh the girls.  Elizabeth will be home tonight.

Well I have to get ready, Bonnie needs a pick up, and I may have to make 2 trips as her friends said they were coming to church today as well.

Bye for now, Have a God day.

Good morning brothers and sisters.  Behold your King!  Ah, what a thought with which to start the day.

Soften my heart and the words of my mouth, dear God. Let me be a peace maker, rather than an agitator. Let my words spread comfort and calm, and make my actions a testimony to Your great love. Amen.
Walking by faith means you see God's hand even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Amen, Carl.  And, O God, make us a blessing to everyone around us today!

I agree, Nita, we do need to be open to our Lord's ways instead of being imprisoned in our own agenda.  We need to be moveable (by the Holy Spirit), and especially open to His Word today!  Oh God, open our hearts to Your Word through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Marilyn

Church was awesome today!  Both ministers preached on 'The Parable of the Weeds'.  Are you a seed or a weed?

'The one who scattered the good seed is the Son of Man.  The field is the world, and the good seeds are the people who belong to the kingdom.  The weed seeds are those who belong to the evil one, and the one who scattered them is the devil.  The harvest is the end of time, and angels are the ones who bring in the harvest.

Weeds are gathered and burned.  That's how it will be at the end of time.  The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everyone who does wrong or causes others to sin.  Then he will throw them into a flaming furnace, where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain.  But everyone who has done right will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom.  If you have ears, pay attention!'  Matthew 13:36-43 CEV

When you think about it, there are only two kinds of people in this world...those who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior and those who have not.  We Christians need to bring weeds to our churches so they will will accept Christ and turn into seeds.

Church was let out earlier today.  The Teen Minister had a substitute and he wasn't as long winded...and I am saying that with a smile on my face...as the Teen Minister.   <3

Now I am tired and I feel a nap coming on....ZZZZZzzzzzzz!

Etta Sue, the Parable of the Wheat and Weeds was the topic of our Sunday School lesson today as we work through Philip Yancey's "What's So Amazing About Grace".

Thank God for King Jesus! :coffee:

I got up at 3 am this morning to watch the World Cup Soccer final.  I need another  :coffee:

Also, we are going on a 3-day trip to the ancient capital of Kyoto.  Lots of sites to see, pictures to take.  We'll be back late Wednesday night, Japan Standard Time.

Paul wrote this to Timothy...

I'm charging you before the life-giving God and before Christ, who took his stand before Pontius Pilate and didn't give an inch:  Keep this command to the letter, and don't slack off. Our Master, Jesus Christ, is on his way.  He'll show up right on time, his arrival guaranteed by the Blessed and Undisputed Ruler, High King, High God.  He's the only one death can't touch, his light so bright no one can get close. He's never been seen by human eyes—human eyes can't take him in! Honor to him, and eternal rule! Oh, yes.

Church today was totally awesome.  God is moving at Abundant Life Center. We had a fantastic time of worship that carried through the preaching. We had two, yes TWO altar calls. One at the beginning  during the worship and one at the end. Our young youth Pastors wife wrote a song called "Bring Me Anointing". Wow what a message. She sang and played it at the end of the service and almost everyone was at the altar seeking God. One lady was so touched by the Spirit that she went  absolutly limp, when she arose she seemed to be drunk in the spirit and dancing; there were four others surrounding her to make sure she didn't fall without someone to help her.

Then this evening at prayer meeting we are meeting at the McKinleyville Community Church to gather with other churchs of this area  for then last hour of a 48 hours of prayer that the churches have been participating in since Friday evening. Powerful things ae happening in McKinleyville.

Here is a song that the girls and I love.  We crank the volume and sing along.

This is by Aaron Schust and is on his album "
Anything Worth Saying".

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at his right hand
Stands one who is my savior

I take him at his word and deed
Christ died to save me this I read
And in my heart I find a need
For him to be my savior

That he would leave his place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my savior

My savior loves, my savior lives
My savior's always there for me
My God he was, my God he is
My God he's always gonna be

Yes, living, dying; let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring
That he who lives to be my king
Once died to be my savior

That he would leave his place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my savior

My savior loves, my savior lives
My savior's always there for me
My God he was, My God he is
My God he's always gonna be
