Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Jesus Sends Seventy Messengers
Luke 10:1-24  NLT

1The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them on ahead in pairs to all the towns and villages he planned to visit. 2These were his instructions to them: "The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest, and ask him to send out more workers for his fields. 3Go now, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. 4Don't take along any money, or a traveler's bag, or even an extra pair of sandals. And don't stop to greet anyone on the road.

5"Whenever you enter a home, give it your blessing. 6If those who live there are worthy, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you. 7When you enter a town, don't move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide you. Don't hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay.

8"If a town welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you 9and heal the sick. As you heal them, say, `The Kingdom of God is near you now.' 10But if a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11`We wipe the dust of your town from our feet as a public announcement of your doom. And don't forget the Kingdom of God is near!' 12The truth is, even wicked Sodom will be better off than such a town on the judgment day.

13"What horrors await you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have sat in deep repentance long ago, clothed in sackcloth and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse. 14Yes, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on the judgment day than you. 15And you people of Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to the place of the dead."

16Then he said to the disciples, "Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God who sent me."

17When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, "Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!"

18"Yes," he told them, "I saw Satan falling from heaven as a flash of lightning! 19And I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20But don't rejoice just because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered as citizens of heaven."

21Then Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and said, "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever, and for revealing it to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.

22"My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

23Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and said, "How privileged you are to see what you have seen. 24I tell you, many prophets and kings have longed to see and hear what you have seen and heard, but they could not."

What would have been most exciting about this trip for you?

Jesus thanked God that spiritual truth was for everyone, not just the elite.  Many of life's rewards seem to go to the intelligent, the rich, the good looking, or the powerful.  But the Kingdom of God is equally available to all, regardless of position or ability.

We come to Jesus, not through strength or brains, but through childlike trust.  Jesus is not against those engaged in scholarly pursuits; he is against spiritual pride (being wise in your own eyes).

We can thank God that we all have equal access to him through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Trust in God, not in your personal qualifications, for your citizenship in the Kingdom.

Amen, Etta Sue.  Words to remember.

Good morning brothers and sisters in Christ.  As some of you know, I have been the photographer for our VBS this year and last night the children made their frames with the individual pictures of them that I took.  It was a blessing of joy to me watching them work.  But even more than that and my job as photographer for the event, it has been special to me to get involved with their songs and festivities and return to my own child-like reverence of our Lord.  There is a joy in my heart.  My favorites for the event was the 4 year olds, who last night during the closing were the loudest in singing "Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes Lord, YES".  Oh the sweet joys of innocence.  Truely a blessing to serve, at whatever level we serve, be it organizer or the person cleaning up afterwards...what a joy it brings.
Walking by faith means you see God's hand even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Marilyn

Carl it is always good to see and hear the children rejoicing.

God devotional today Etta Sue. thanks you.

Good Morning to everyone, I hope you all have a terrific day. I am short on time again this morning as I have been busy doing other things. I have completed one load of laundry and another is in the dryer. I am going to work soon.

Good Morning Everyone!

Carl, what a blessing that must have been.  For me, there's nothing as precious as hearing these little ones sing.  I just love it.  What a nice little "job" for you to have for the past week or so taking photos of these kids.  Great!

Thanks Etta Sue for the words of wisdom today-- and the graphics as usual.  Love seeing what next you will come up with.

Hi Jane and Marilyn...

hmmm i think i'm getting used to this posting thing! haha. even though i very well might be the youngest one who has ever joined; that just makes it all the funner.

Carl, i know that exact feeling. i'm a part of it's called Crosswalk, http://www.crosswalkinc.org a mobile ministry team that goes to lower income developments and tells kids ages 3-12, and anyone who sits off the tarps haha, about drugs, alcohol, but the importance of having Jesus in their lives. during the summer we go to churches and do VBS's, and the like - and i'm always the one with the camera. our last retreat we did was for missionettes in ohio, and it was their districts 50th birthday. our lesson was following their dreams and what i did was took girls who were friends and girls only [i'm not sure if you're familiar with missionettes, but friends is like going up the ranking, and then girls only is the highest you can get] and took their pictures, asked them what they dreamed of being, with no costs, no limits. and then when there was a ceremony for them at the end of the week with parents everywhere and about 500 girls some with awards some with not, there was a slideshow presentation with their picture and "i have a dream to be..." it was so cool. my mom was actually the speaker because she's a part of the crosswalk team too, and she had the privelege of speaking at the ceremony about dreams and living out your dreams and so many people commented about the pictures, so it really was a blessing.

hope everyone is having a great day so far !

be blessed.

Janet

Cnadice, what a joy to work with kids as you do!  And how YOUNG are you??  ;)  Not that age matters at all, we are so happy to have you.  We love people of ALL ages here.  How wonderful that you are being a servant of Jesus at a young age.  May your numbers greatly increase.

Ohenry, what fun you had at VBS, too!  That sounds like a job I would enjoy a lot.  Kids and their innocence and enthusiasm are a real joy to be around.  I only wish their innocence could stay with them longer, but this old world tries to destroy it as quickly as possible.  At least the kids raised in church have a much better chance.

Darrel and I did circuits for our workout this morning--15 min. on the treadmill, 15 on the stair stepper, 15 on the bicycle, and 15 on the rowing machine.....then stretches.  (Isn't that exciting?)  Sorry.  :-[

I need to be about working on my new business some.  The beauty of it is, it isn't work, to talk to people about something you believe in and that will bless their lives!  :)

Etta Sue, I loved the devotional today.  Sometimes I think I'm in too big a hurry to read all of the long ones, but that is not a good attitude.  If we are too busy for God, we're too busy!  I read every word, and that is one of my many favorite passages of Scripture.

I'm wanting to post a few photos, but since my computer problem, on my PSP, some of the tools are not showing---namely the resize and jpeg ones--and I haven't yet figured out how to get them back.  Lots of tools there I have no idea how to use, and wouldn't you know, the ones I used all the time come up missing.  :(

Oh, well!

I turned 17 july 6th. last night i was talking to my mom and i'm like "mom, 17 is not 3 years from 20. nor is 20 three years from 17, i'm not getting old, nor am i driving by myself."  she laughed. but i've been told i could pass up to a junior in college, and not once have i been told i look younger.  man, i don't want to get old tooo fast. but sometimes i do wish i could skip these ages.

you said something about a new business, and said it's not work, being it just talking about something you believe in.  me being the one that has just joined you might have already stated where you've started working, but i've missed it.  where do you "work"?

:)

Janet

I work at home!  I don't want to be commercial here on CP, but have come into something that is a blessing physically and financially to hundreds of thousands of people.  It is a company founded and run by dedicated Christian people whose greatest desire is to help people.  :) :) :)  I'm excited!

Thanks, sweet one!  Prayer is always appreciated!

I came back to say I had a short email from Anthony Patrick.  His Mom is not well at all, and he would appreciate prayer for her.  They were having trouble getting her the meical attention she needs so desperately.

He also said to tell all of you hello, and he will pop in and post when he can.

Hi everyone.  I have been on the run all day and am worn out this evening so am just stopping by to say all is well here and I will try to post more tomorrow.

Marilyn

Hello again everyone: I have been busy since I got home form work, folding my laundry, watering my potted plants, installing  hose holders in on the front and rear of the house, walking the dogs,  reading email, answering email, doing dishes, and making a tuna casserole. Are you tired yet?

Good to see Candice posting here in NEM.

Tomorrow I am taking Fay out to luch for her 97th birthday, we are going to the Oriental buffet in Arcata because I know she likes that food there and will eat what I put on her plate. I made her a cake while I was there yesterday morning.

Still no signs of a new caregiver. A woman called  me yesterday and said she did everthing except cook, and that is exactly what Fay needs.,

:) i do what i can. i don't have the average teenager summer. i do work, but it's at my churches rec center where they also have a computer with internet access. and when i'm really not home, i'm out on ministry trips with Crosswalk, and definitely no internet access there. so i just leave this screen open and refresh it every once and awhile.

tuna casserole, if you had a teenager you would notttt be eating that!  just joking hahaha, although watering plants i wouldn't mind.  hope you find time to relax tonight after your long day!

be blessed.

Marilyn

I never made tuna casserole when the kids were at home although now my youngest son (33) loves it and so does his kids. He is the one who brought over a Tuna casserole to share with me I have just acquired a taste for it. Besides it  doesn't take much to please me anymore  and doesn't cost much to fix.

My daughter was a Missionette and  three of the boys were Royal Rangers.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on CP lately.   So busy!      I was at the airport in the middle of the night last night picking up a girl from Korea.  She will be staying at my house and I will do homestay.  I just came home on the subway with her to show her where she will be going to school.   Tonight I will sleep early.

Please pray for Israel!     Their enemies are giving it to them from two different angles.    If they had their way they would wipe them off the map!   But God is in control.    God Bless

Love Ruthie
;D ;D ;D
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Janet

Hi, Ruthie!  Yes, pray for the safety of Israel.  They have every right to defend themselves, and have many enemies close by, wanting their destruction.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we are told in the Word.

I went to a concert of the Continentals tonight here in town, and it was very good.  Oh, my!  The energy of those young people is amazing!  ::)  Their director was from Costa Rica and had a very interesting accent.  (Of course, Pat says I do, too.!)

I'm going to bed.  "Night, all!  (Nytol?)  ;)
