Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

The church, which is His body.
Ephesians 1:22-23

The church universal is the body of Christ as is the local church. It is
the personal expression of Christ to the people of that area and they will
judge Christ by what they experience there.

What do they see? Selfishness? No love for sinners? Morally proud and self-righteous people? They make a judgment of Christ based upon our behaviour and attitudes.

Oh, that they may see that which will draw them to our Saviour--something of His love and compassion which led Him to give His life for them, lost and undone by sin.
--David Croudace

They are watching you, marking all you do,
Hearing the things you say.
Let them see the Saviour, as He shines in you,
Let His power control you every day.

Let's remember to pray for the missing member of the Digital Photo Challenge website that Soni was telling us about.  This is so sad.

I was reading that he has a little 2  1/2 year old granddaughter and other family.

oh what a great morning! it's only 70 some degrees out! granted, it should be a good morning, regardless of the weather, because i have woken up, have gotten up..and i'm sure that is more then some can say.

but it is cooler, some nasty storms rolled through here last night, so it's dropped the temps to be in the 80's today rather then the high 90's to 100's. i think God was realizing that people in our area were dying [literally] of the weather, and we suffered enough. someone posted about a church sign saying "you think it's hot here.." i thought that was the funniest thing ever. and our church would totally be the ones with that up in our area.

well last day of cleaning here i come. as well as driving down to an old youth group to some friends i haven't seen in a long time. today i drove to the Crosswalk office all by myself.  :) [first time ever driving a long ways by myself..] besides the fact i followed my mom haha. and to really get a kick, we had to stop at the post office, and i made her back be out of the parking spot, because i am really awful at that.

hope everyone has an amazingggg friday.
blessings,
candice.

Good morning, everyone.  It's close to noon, but still morning. :)

I've been on the phone all morning.........mostly waiting.  I turn 65 in October, so was trying to opt out of the Medicare Drug Prescription Program.  It seems I can't do that right now.  I must be enrolled first, and I haven't gotten the paperwork for that yet, and then notify them that I want to opt out.  I have ChampVA For Life, and get meds free.  I guess it's the government's way to not do anything to rock the boat, or the process.  I don't know. haha   I thought I'd let them know not to enroll me, but I thought wrong.

Yesterday it was soooo windy!!  So far, today, we are nice and still.   I had a heavy plastic lawn chair tossed into my flower bed.  We have wind here on the coast, but it seemed to me that yesterday was worse.

Ohenry....I liked your Bandon pictures.  I have some in my gallery of Bandon too.

Etta Sue, I checked out the photo tips you posted.  I think I get worse all the time!  I haven't gone out to just photograph something in awhile, and when I try around home, I'm never satisfied.  I think I need to do more setting up and checking camera settings.  I'm getty lazy I think. :)

My niece wants her aunts and cousin, Kim, to record a song for her wedding.  She wants us to sing God Blessed The Broken Road (Selah does it as well as Rascal Flatts).  I've downloaded a recording program (N-Track)and have been playing with it.  Kim actually made her first CD. haha   I'm concerned about the quality of the computer mic and what it will turn out like.  Pam will do part on guitar, my daughter, Kim, will do some keyboard.  THey will probably also do most of the song and my sisters and I will come in with added harmonies.  I sure hope this works for her.  We're going to try to set up mics for voices and hope that gives a bigger sound.   I'm sure you wanted to know all this. LOL     If you have any ideas, I'm all ears!

Gotta go and vacuum, or finish dishes.  Have a blessed day.  Nita

Hi everyone.  Today is suppose to be last day here for awhile with temps in the high 90s.  For the next few days they indicated this morning the temps should get up to 90.  That will be a help.

Pat and I had a very frustrating morning.  We had to go to a town south of here to attend to some business and the instructions to the address I got from Google Maps told us to take this particular road and when we did it was a short little deadend and the road ahead was closed and no more.  We didn't have a clue what to do as I had never driven in this town before.  I stopped at a convenience store and there was a very nice black man there as a customer who heard my questions about needing directions and said he was a truck driver and knew the area well.  He gave me instructions, which I thought I wrote down correctly, and we started out again but something was wrong and once again we were lost.  We ended up in the downtown area and stopped at a bank and Pat went in and there was a nice lady waiting to be served and she was familiar with the road we were seeking and gave us very good instructions.  From there we were able to find the place and complete our business.

I have decided it is time for a GPS system and am going to buy one.  It seems we are getting lost more often and we plan to travel at the end of September and early October and know it will come in handy.  I believe it was will a very worthwhile expenditure.  I got very frustrated this morning with the whole situation and having that driving aid should help us when needed.

Carol, thanks for your kind offer of fleece for Pat to use with the parafin treatments for her hands.  Fortunately the kit she got had a pair of fleece mittens and that really helps hold the heat, as you know.  After she dips her hands I hold the plastic bags open and then help her get into the mittens and close them around the wrist.  These treatments really seem to help her as you indicated it did Don.  It is nice that this is a treatment not related to a chemical pain killer.

I see several comments about southern gospel music.  I like it a lot also especially the type that is done by the Gaither Vocal Band and some of the older groups.  On Sunday aternoon we have a Christian television stations that plays several hours of that type of music videos.  I will often listen to it.

Marilyn, 10,000 posts is really a lot.  However, I notice that Pat has over 17,000.

Ohenry, as you know this discussion format is great in that you don't depend on others being online at the same time when you post or read messages anytime of the day or night.

Al, my whole perspective on having birthdays changed after I had my first heart attack and survived some very serious surgery.  Since then have had several other procedures where the doctors have told my wife that it was very high risk due to my heart being weak.  So to me each new birthday is a special gift from God that I most happily welcome.

Candice, glad your cleaning job has finally ended for you and also that you are getting cooler weather.

We are back from Ohio.  It is nice to have my sister back home.  This was the first time she has been gone for any length of time without me knowing she was going.  I sure missed her!

Larry ~ The Magellan is the Cadillac of GPS's.  IWay looks like another great one.  Hope Fry's have some refurb ones for you to choose from.  The only complaint I have on my new one is it is hard to see in the daytime...reflection.

I sure did not think that I was away for as long as I was. I am back but there is a possibility that we could be going away for the week-end, tomorrow we will decide. I have been having trouble sleeping and I kinda feel that perhaps I have an infection of some kind yogurt seems to be working but if it is not all gone we will be staying home.  I was having deep fried fish for Dinner so we invited a couple from Orangeville to join us - no leftovers.

Candice:  Your posts keep us young.

Nita:  What you are attempting to do for the wedding can be done and it sounds good. We had attended an 80th Birthday and a song was put together for that.

Carol:   I hope the bug leaves you. Try yogurt.

Larry:  Mel has GPS in his boat and loves it.

Etta Sue: Thanks for the tips.

We have a most beautiful day lots of sun

Hey Ruth!  Take care.  Infections sometimes take so long to clear up.

Hi to everyone else.  We were invited to my youngest sons' tonight as Janice and Phil got home from a little few days vacation and it was good to get together on the spur of the moment sort of thing.

Tomorrow is Ian's son's birthday party so I'll be away again for that.

At least it's not quite so not now so that's a bit better.

Hi Marilyn and Carl!

It's not too hot here today and that's good as I have a busy day ahead of me.  I have to pick blackberries and they are loaded and I'm getting about a quart every other day!  Also, it's my grandson, David's birthday today.  David is Ian's youngest son and Ian is our webhoster.  We're having a BBQ up in Orangeville so I won't be around much.

I hope to get some photos.

What are your plans for the weekend folks?  I hope it involves taking some photos!

We had a storm warning last night and another ten drops of rain - it just isn't happening this year.

Ruth:  I hope that your infection cleared.  Thanks for reminding me of taking yoghurt.

Marilyn:  I love the message about good people taking care of their animals.  I always remember an uncle's funeral and the pastor mentioning how lovingly Uncle Walt cared for his horses.  They were babied.

Pat:  Just love blackberries.  We used to have tons of bushes in the alley behind our home in Seattle - mom canned, froze and made blackberry pies all the time.  I hope that your heat isn't so bad now.  We have had the mercy of a drop in nighttime temperatures.

I can't believe the furkids let me sleep in until almost 10 this morning.  Then after breakfast and my devotions, I took my second cup of coffee and went to Ivalou's to chat.  I missed that last week.

Then while I was eating my lunch, Ivalou called me on the phone.  The lady that is in charge of our Beef and Boards nights said she got the new schedule for next year.  You choose your table for each show for the first, second and third choice for the nights you want.  I told Ivalou that to let Marge do it and we will adjust and make our plans accordingly but now it seems we are all going out to eat tonight and do our choosing.  Sounds like fun!

I don't think I got a ribbon on my photography.  Kitty says that they call you if you place.  Now I am praying that at least one of my photos is displayed.  We go tomorrow evening to Open House.  I should know then.

That's it for today.  Not much to chat about.

Oh, yes.  Thanks for the thanks about posting the tips.  Give a thanks to Kip May...all the tips are from him.

Marilyn

Good afternoon to all. I have been just piddling around here today. I took my next door neighbor to work, made a couple of new stationeries in PSP, colored my hair, took a shower, redid my jam (it didn't set), did my nails washed my car. made some cole slaw, and tqalked onth phone.

Carol and Ruth I do hope you are feeling better today.

Glad you enjoyed yourself with your sister Etta Sue.

My day is about like yours, Marilyn. Just piddlin'....a little this, and some of that.

My grandson is here for awhile today, so we've been visiting.  He's watching Monsters, Inc. now, so decided to check up on my email and visit CP.

My daughter, who moved to Eugene last week, is supposed to come by sometime today.  I haven't seen her in awhile, so am looking forward to seeing her.  Leaving her home, after Jim was killed, and now a brand new home by herself, plus today was his birthday....I imagine she's trying to stay busy.

I met my new neighbors over the fence.  They just bought the house behind mine.  We have a fence between, and a nailed closed gate.  The original owners had kids my kid's age, so we had a fence built between our properties so the kids could play together. The kids grew up and they moved  out of the house.   After I got Ty and Rocko, I had my son nail it shut.  I didn't want to take a chance on someone leaving it open.

Marilyn, I've been thinking of coloring my hair.  I decided to let it go all gray...and it did and is. :)  I haven't decided yet.  I may stay with gray, but not sure.

I love blackberries too.  I have just one long vine that we've babied each year.  I get enough for a few cups to freeze.  I have them frozen with my cereal.

Carol...sorry about the 10 drops of rain.  Maybe one of the storms will make it through and give you some nice watering.

I guess I'll go piddle some more.  I have some dishes to wash and dogs to brush. :)   Nita

"piddling around" is the name of the game today.  This morning I got up very early, then went to the men's pryer breakfast at 7AM, then about 9:15 went and did the week's shopping at Winco.  Meanwhile Marbeth (now feeling fine) went and did the week's laundry.  After I brought her home at about 10:30, she visited with the neighbor for a while, then we went up to Tinidad and had lunch at the Seascape, where you can sit and watch the pier/dock and the seagulls.  Piddlin since.

P.S.  A little later on, I'll watch the only MLB team worth watching (said for Larry's benefit), the San Francisco Giants.

have a great week guys.

Hi everyone.  I didn't think I would make it to post here today as we had storms in our area and while we didn't lose power I lost the Internet for about 2 hours.  About 9 pm it came back on.

This morning after coffee my friend Rod and I went to Fry's, MicroCenter, CompUSA and finally to Costco.  Following that we went to Smokey Bones and had a bowl of Brunswick Stew.  He hadn't been to that place before and they have great food and the Brunswick Stew is no exception.

At Fry's I purchased a Garman GSP Street Pilot C230 (think that was the number).  They had it on sale and while not cheap was must less than it generally sells for.  It has a colored monitor and is suppose to adjust to the light and be easy to see.  We are into a no sales tax period for 4 days on school related clothing, supplies, computers, etc. but of course it didn't cover the GPS.  We did buy some Mead spiral notebooks with 70 pages for nine cents each as they had lots of school supplies on sale.  When I got home, and after a nap as I was beat, I took the GPS out of the box and installed the software and when it came to the point in the program to unlock the map program with a 25 digit number there was no number.  I called Fry's and they were no help and the Garman phone support doesn't work on weekends.  I sent an e-mail to them and will call Monday morning to see if they can help me and if they can't I will take it back for a refund.  I think I would have liked it as it was easy to read and had touch programming ont he screen.  I didn't hear the voice yet as it didn't have any preinstalled maps.  I hope I can get the code as don't want to return it.

Not much else today.  Just enjoyed the morning with my friend as we took out time in the stores and I got along well.

I am looking forward to church tomorrow as the choir resumes it position in the choir loft and will offer the anthem.  When we started practice Wednesday night we learned that two of our long time choir members had moved away and would not be attending our church anymore.  However, we had two new members who fit into the sections where they each had been.  God is good and provides.

We had a nice rain this evening.  My friend, who lives maybe two miles or so from me said he had over an inch of rain and we may have had that much as well.  At least we didn't lose power tonight.  Till tomorrow.

Ruth

I spent most of yesterday and today piddlin around but I must say that I did get a lot done. The bills got paid, the necessary paper work got filed and the rest went to the garbage. It does not seem like much but some of the paper work required some discussion with my hubby.   Later this evening after Mel watered the plants he spent a lot of time spraying a wasps nest that is lodged in a small crack at the the front steps. He sprayed a bit then jumped back sprayed a bit and jumped back again and again.   ;D  Not so funny to him though.

The rain storm of Thursday netted us about 1 1/2 inches.

Marilyn:  I am feeling much better but it will take time to get my system built up again

Nita:  I usually let my hair go without color in the summer then about the end of Aug. I will have it colored  my hair dresser thinks I should not do this but oh well it is my hair. Since I still drive school bus colored hair goes better with the kids young & old.

Pat: Does Ian live in the newer part of Orangeville?

Enough typing nite to all

Well, while you were all piddlin' about today, I was picking blackberries and laundry and then off to Rockwood and then up to Orangeville.  Haven't been home long.  Had a great time with little David.  I found out that his other Grandma is the "Airplane Grandma" as he has to fly out to Edmonton to see her.  So I said, "Well, if she's the Airplane Grandma, who am I?" and right away, he said, "Grandma, you're the Doggie Grandma!  Silly!"  So, that's how he tells us apart!

No, Ruth, Ian lives in the old part on First Ave.

Well, it's time to lock the door, folks!
