Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional...

Jesus on Seeking Honor
Luke 14:1-14  NLT

One Sabbath day Jesus was in the home of a leader of the Pharisees.  The people were watching him closely, because there was a man there whose arms and legs were swollen.  Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in religious law, "Well, is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not?"  Whey they refused to answer, Jesus touched the sick man and healed him and sent him away.  Then he turned to them and asked, "Which of you doesn't work on the Sabbath?  If your son or your cow falls into a pit, don't you proceed at once to get him out?"  Again they had no answer.

When Jesus noticed that all who had come to the dinner were trying to sit near the head of the table, he gave them this advice:  "If you are invited to a wedding feast, don't always head for the best seat.  What if someone more respected than you has also been invited?  The host will say, 'Let this person sit here instead.'  Then you will be embarrassed and will have to take whatever seat is left at the foot of the table!

"Do this instead--sit at the foot of the table.  Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, 'Friend, we have a better place than this for you!'  Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests.  For the proud will be humbled, the humble will be honored."

Then he turned to his host.  "When you put on a luncheon or a dinner," he said, "don't invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors.  For they will repay you by inviting you back.  Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.  Then at the resurrection of the godly, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you."

When would others say that you look out for yourself too much?

Jesus advised people not to rush for the best seats at a feast.

People today are just as eager to raise their social status, whether by being with the right people, dressing in the right clothes, or driving the right car.  Dressing nicely or striving to be suddessful in school or in sports is not wrong in itself--it is wrong only when you want these things just to impress others.

When do you try to impress?  Rather than aiming for prestige, look for a place where you can serve.

It is getting fallish looking in Indiana.  The trip to I.U. showed some beautiful colors but the peak time is next week.  Hope Ivalou and I get to go 'Leaf Looking' next week.

We have had some bad lightening here tonight.  No damage here but I got an email from Kitty saying that her house was struck by lightening and they don't have any phones and their garage door opener isn't working.....AND THEY HAVE LIGHTENING RODS ON THEIR HOUSE!!  (She is in Ohio, her husband called her on the cell)  Must attract lightening or they aren't grounded properly!  This is the second lightening strike in less than a month for them.

Well, my eyes are drooping....time for ZZZZzzzzz!

Good Morning. kinda dreary here this morning but that is nothing new just the same ole, same ole.

Good message at Bible Study last night on Joy and Hope.

One of my recipes is the recipe of the month on Gilbert's website. He used the Orange Pineapple salsa recipe. Shelly next door is now the owner of his car. It seems odd to see it sitting in her driveway instead of mine.

My business is doing well It never ceases to amaze me that I don't have to do anything but give away gifts of the product and it sells itself. I don't do any selling at all, if the person likes it they call and order it themselves if they don't like it that's OK too. No pressure. Actually I  did have someone from  my Tai Chi class come by and pick up something after trying out the Regenicare for the joints.

You will notice that I took off my official website.

Gotta go now

Etta Sue:  A strong message today on people preoccupied with what others "think" - wear and drive for that matter.  Don't we wish that a larger group of teens would be more inclined to ignore what others wear - all those status symbols?

Marilyn:  How kind of  one of your friends to pay your way to your day trip.

Larry:  I will check back in here to read what your appointment today turned out.  Hugs to you.

Loved the photos - they are all so interesting.

Well, I have already been to the bank, the P.O., out to breakfast and the Dollar General.  I have read my devotions and then got online.  I am all caught up in what I tend to do daily online.  I have my 4 photos ready for Monday night when I go the Photography Guild.

I have also uploaded four photos to the gallery of a farmer combining his soy beans across the road from me.  Might be interesting to you city folk!

Kitty tells me this morning that at 3:30am their security alarm went off and her husband couldn't get it turned off until he cut the circuit off.  They also don't have their outside light working.  When he went outside this morning, the lightening even lifted the wire out of the ground to the outside light on a tall pole.  Also their oak tree was struck and half of it is on the ground.  Seems they really got hit hard...just 4 miles from me.  And I just remember of seeing the sky brighten up a few times.

Hi everyone.  Here I am late once again but spent all morning seeing my doctor's PA and then going to the Kaiser office for blood tests.  They changed one of my meds that control the angina and increased the diuretic.  I am feeling better today than I have the other days since we have been home.  Maybe I am beginning to get rested up.

The cable man came this evening around 7 pm and installed the high definition box and I am watching several different high definition programs on TV, including a baseball and football game.  Just doing that man thing of switching channels. It really is a greatly improved picture.

Etta Sue, it sounds like your friend had quite a lightning strike.  Sure glad it didn't set their house on fire.  Thanks for the devotional today.

Marilyn, I am glad to read that your business is doing well and you are enjoying it.

It is about bedtime so will sign off for tonight.

Pat
