Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Larry,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Colin,

What a touching story about Patch.  And "Sunshine in My Heart" is so powerful.

Amazing posts by all.

Hello from a very soggy Vancouver Island!  We have been drenched with one-third as much rain as we usually get in an entire year :(  Some say the only thing keeping the shingles on the roof is the driving rain.  Of course the rest of the country doesn't take our weather seriously.....if we say it is raining really hard, they ask if we need grief counsellers.  Course we don't need block heaters for the cars, but BC Transit is thinking about lashing its drivers to the steering wheel on some routes, so they won't be swept away into the churning waters.... ;)

At least my daughter & SIL are happily soaking up the sun in Maui now.  They went on a much needed holiday...hope Wendy will be able to travel okay.  That is always a worry.  Won't be back until Dec. 03 and I am busy looking after two cats, 7 Bunnies and my granddaughter...who is either in college or working weekends.  So feeling lonely, trying to stay happy and hugging poor Squeek(cat) as she desperately misses Wendy.  Since Misty is my cat, she couldn't care less!

Larry, I am so sorry about Mr. Tiggers.  Since we share a mutual love of animals, can relate to your pain.  And it is painful.  Pets bring us such joy and I do believe that God sends them along to make our lives better.

Colin, I am enjoying your poems, jokes and pictures.  I hope to clear away all the work and get back to my watercolors soon.  Liked your painting.  The colors are lovely.  Used to write poetry.   Sometimes even woke at night and started to scribble down this and that.....mind has become rather an empty space lately.

Marilyn, I loved what you wrote.  Made me feel real good.  Etta Sue, your posts usually make me feel hungry...you have such interesting days and they seem to mostly end with delicious meals.  Yum!

Janet, I come to read from time to time...or lurk.  Have not had a lot to say, so say a prayer or two, then leave.  Must post some comments in the gallery.  Saw Kamat's children, went to her sites, saw Sonifo's name under DPC, went and admired her beautiful pictures and lovely children.  Stopped to check on Nards and little Tiger.  So many folks not posting now.  I also miss them.  Like Papa John....Sarah, etc.

Time to go, ironing awaits.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Liz, it's so good to hear from you.  Ever since this heavy rain started for you, I've wondered how you were coping.  All our news has been full of it and now the thing about boiling water?  Does this affect you?

Hi everyone.  Thank you all for the wonderful and comforting thoughts you expressed.  Yesterday was a day of grief over one of God's gifts to us in the form of a loving pet but today I am sensing gratitude over the many happy memories I have from having had Mr. Tiggers.  I must say, and my wife commented the same thing when we got home from church, that the house seems really quiet and rather empty.  It wasn't that Mr. Tiggers was noisey but he always was there and insisting on his way.

Marilyn, I liked your expression of gratitude and Janet's church bulletin posting as we so often fail to see the blessings all around us.  I am much more aware of the many blessings that have come my way this year and think in some ways, while difficult, it has been one of the best years of my life.

Colin, sorry to hear of the lose of Patches and to have his life ended so suddenly by being hit.  Thanks for telling us about him.

Liz, it sounds like you must about have the house to yourself.  Hope you are keeping the oars handy as it sounds like things might float up your way.

Etta Sue, someone in our Sunday School class announced she had taken 7 shoe boxes for the Samaratan's Purse Christmas efforts to the collection point.

Pat, that is a touching story about Sandy.  I can remember several pets that have enriched my life over the years.

We had an interesting morning at church.  Our choir sang an Bach anthem in German or at least we called it German.  However, we have one lady in our church who comes from Switzerland and speaks German and one of the choir members asked her if she enjoyed hearing the anthem in German and she said "Oh, was that in German".  I told this lady that we probably shouldn't share that comment with the choir director.  :)  Our youth minister preached today and he started his sermon on Psalm 103 by reciting the entire Psalm from memory and didn't use a note for a very powerful sermon.  I know he works very hard on his sermons.

Following church we went out to a buffet with eleven other friends.  Came home and took a nap and now am enjoying my easychair, watching the football game, and using the computer.

Hi, there,

What a blessing I received when I came here today! And, it was fast on the heels of a wonderful, and unexpected, blessing I received at church.

We had missionaries from Papua, New Guinea to speak to us, and one of the things they talked about was the hospital that had served the people so well.  It brought fresh memories back of my mother's death. She SO loved missions that we asked for donations to the church in her memory to be set aside especially for missions. There was just enough to fund a centrifuge to be used in the hospital laboratory in Papua, New Guinea.

So, I've been thankful all day for how God has blessed my life through my parents' ministry and through their love for others.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Boy, Sundays just now are so busy!  Sunday School, church, home for a while, then to the care home to sing with the folks, then musical practice, prayer time and church again!  And it will be that way until December, then it will be another church's turn at the home, then after the 10th, no more practice.  But it's all good, as the kids say.  :)

Liz, it is so good to hear from you and know you are okay.  Try to get some rest while the kids are vacationing, you need a break, too.  I miss you when you don't post.  If you don't want to "talk," how about posting some of your nice poetry?  I always enjoy that!

Ruth Ann, what a sweet memory of your Mother.  I'm sure she was smiling down from heaven at the memorial you did for her.

I want to go read a while before I go to sleep.  See you in the new Thoughts for the week.

I'm checking in too. :)

I didn't go to church today.  The weather was windy and rainy and I decided to stay home.  I listened to some good tapes I have, and just rested...all dry and warm.

I'm looking forward to watching Extreme Makover Home Edition at 8 pm, with a cup of herb tea and snuggled in my chair with a blanket tucking me in. :)  Oh, and of course, two small white dogs on my lap, one staring into my face, the other down on the foot rest, between my feet, chewing on a toy till his little head drops and he naps as long as I stay there. :)  Life is good.

Blessings, Nita

Good evening everyone,
I got home from church and laid down and took a nap. Now I'm up because the phone is ringing off the hook. I hope things go well at the Dr tomorrow. Well I hope everyone is having a good sunday (almost monday) and I shall be back on later this week.
Have a good week,
Trisha

Janet - I really, really enjoyed that back-of-bulletin article!  Thank you for that.  I too pray I'll be more attentive to what my Lord is doing and saying.

We're in the final stages in the next two days for our trip to Davis.  When you're old and decrepit you have to remember to take lots of things you probably wouldn't have earlier in life.

Liz - it was indeed good to hear from you up there.  Just stay in and stay dry!

Janet

Trisha!  Thanks for checking in!  Glad you got to go to church, but do take care of yourself and the coming baby!

Hi, Nita!~  Yes, life is good!

I spent about 45 minutes looking at photos in the gallery.  There is some amazing stuff in there!  So much beauty in the world, and we get to see and enjoy it through the efforts of many good photographers.  Thanks, all!

Now I really am going to bed to read a bit!
