JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

IMPORTANT RECALL NOTICE

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured,
regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the
primary and central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam
and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent
units.

This defect has been technically termed "Subsequential Internal
Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily
expressed.

       Some other symptoms include:
           1. Loss of direction
           2. Foul vocal emissions
           3. Amnesia of origin
           4. Lack of peace and joy
           5. Selfish or violent behavior
           6. Depression or confusion in the mental Component
           7. Fearfulness
           8. Idolatry
           9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is
providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct
this SIN defect. The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered
to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is
no additional fee required.  The number to call for repair in all areas is:
P-R-A-Y-E-R.

Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE
procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into
the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:
           1. Love
           2. Joy
           3. Peace
           4. Patience
           5. Kindness
           6. Goodness
           7. Faithfulness
           8. Gentleness
           9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers' Instructions
Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids
any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too
numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently
impounded.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have
to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter
Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!

        God

Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall
notice, and you may contact the Father any time by "kneemail".

Hi, friends,

I'm a long-time, no see person, but sinceely love all of you. It's so good to read all the posts from last week.

My Daughter in Law seems better. I hope that fusion works. Thanks for the good words, friends.

Those of you who have dealt with children's illness know how it worries us. And, though married to my son, she's also one of my children.

It was great to be with the girls.

Now, it's back to the old grind. Y'all have a good remainder of the day.

Good morning everyone!

I hope today is a blessed day for one and all.

I have a question for those who are more studied up than me (oh my what terrible english!)

What is your opinion of this verse?

Hebrews 10:26  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Y'all have a great day!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

Janet, I had never seen the devotional material you shared today and I really like it.  Sorry to hear that the arm pain is still very much with you but hope that each day it is a little less painful.

We are looking forward to our son and daughter-in-law stopping by for a short visit this afternoon.  They are coming over this morning from Augusta for some medical appointments for our daughter-in-law.  It has been several weeks since we have seen them.  This evening we are meeting some friends to have the baby-back ribs and then they are coming here for and we will play some cards for a little while.

Today is the day the housekeeper usually comes to clean.  However, she is ill again and may not be here for several weeks.  We will miss having the house all cleaned at once.  Of course, with just Pat and I here the house really doesn't get that messed up.  The yardmen should be here later today although the yard hasn't grown much in the last few days because it has been so hot and so dry.

I didn't have any problem singing yesterday and really enjoyed getting back into the choir.

Good to see all the postings.  Hope this is a good day for everyone.

Marilyn

Liz

Hello from another soggy day on Vancouver Island.

Samantha, regarding your question as to an opinion about Hebrews 10:26....
My opinion is that it primarily concerned the Jewish Christians who turned from Christ and returned to Judaism.  Again, my opinion is that we are to take serious warning from the the verse. This passage is not speaking of a believer who falls away, but rather someone who may claim to be a believer, but truly is not. Anyone who apostatizes is proving he never had genuine faith to begin with (1 John 2:19).  So much in the Bible tells us that our Salvation is forever....yet we are warned about the wrath of God and consequences for our actions.  I personally am fearful of the wrath of God.  Prefer his Blessings!

That is simply my humble opinion.  Hopefully this will open a nice, loving discussion and others will tell us what they believe.  Pastor Al certainly has more knowledge than this person..... :)  I was once thumped badly for not responding to questions.  Lets hope this won't earn another :clobber:

God Bless,

Liz

You're right, Liz, I can't help myself - I just have to answer a question like that!  However, all in all, I think the answer Liz gave is quite good and reflects my view as well.  I do think that the emphasis in the verse falls on the word "willfully."  When our Lord regenerates our hearts by His Sprit, He changes our "want-to."   He changes it radically, and we don't thereafter
willfully sin.  We do indeed sin - much too often - but we do not thereafter do so without caring.  We begin to hate our sin and desire to be rid of it as much as we already are of its guilt.  So I don't believe one who is regenerated by the Holy Spirit ever thereafter sins with the full consent of his/her heart - he/she doesn't "willfully" sin.  And Liz is absolutely right - we should take the warning seriously, and we should often exmine our hearts, for if we were to sin after regeneration, we'd then be absolutely lost - Christ's Blood would do us no further good.

Samantha

Thank you Liz and Al,

I really appreciate your answers.  We are struggling with the willfully part.  I think that as a "christian" any sin "I" do is willfull, because I "should" be better than that. Ha   But Terry is worried that he is "doomed".  Y'all pray for him that God will show him he is still part of the kingdom.  He is still having a hard time.

Thanks again,
Samantha

Samantha.  Just had to stop in and see what was going on..... Had to be a "God thing".  The willful sin is the sin that is done "because I can".  For instance even though we know that adultery is wrong, if we "willfully" commit that sin anyways, and often with the comment that we are "covered by Grace".  The "want to" is not there and frankly you have to want to , want to. You have to want to change so that you want God's forgiveness.  There comes in to play a matter of accountability as well.  We are to be accountable for not only our actions but also our thoughts and what motivates us, as God knows all.   Ok I will get off my band wagon, I will be praying for you all, all in your household.

Still struggling with my arm.

Have a good day everyone.

I think you might have been meaning this hypothetically, and I think you might have meant to include a "willingly" somewhere between "to" and "sin", but I'm still not sure you said what I think you would have meant to say??

Janet ~ Great devotion.  I am glad you posted the new thoughts early.  Now I feel I can post earlier than usual.  Seems Sunday is my longest day...getting up earlier than usual after a hard to sleep night.  Sometimes I have a very hard time staying up past 11pm to post the new devotion.

Good rainy, stormy, lightening, thundering afternoon.  The skies have opened over Indiana.  Last night also.  Kitty and I went to the State Fair Grounds to pick up our fair entries.  And while the skies were overcast, I did leave my sunroof open a little.  No rain yet.  Then we went to a Mexican restaurant...three days in a row for me...but I did not open the sunroof.  And am I glad that I didn't.  We came out and it was pouring.  And on the way home I even had to turn the wipers on FAST!

Kitty brought  her external hard drive because she 'lost' a picture she made with PhotoShop on it.  She was hoping I would find it.  So sure enough I found it.  Also she was looking for zebra cloth for a background and in PSP I have zebra, leopard and tiger patterns.  So I made .jpgs of each and saved them on her external hard drive.  And it has been raining ever since we got home.  God sure is tumbling potatoes in heaven today!!

Samantha here is the commentar that I found onthe Bible Gateway website re: that verse.

Quote"An exhortation to be constant and persevere, The example of Christ is set forth, and the gracious design of God in all the sufferings believers endured.

The exhortations against apostacy and to perseverance, are urged by many strong reasons. The sin here mentioned is a total and final falling away, when men, with a full and fixed will and resolution, despise and reject Christ, the only Saviour; despise and resist the Spirit, the only Sanctifier; and despise and renounce the gospel, the only way of salvation, and the words of eternal life. Of this destruction God gives some notorious sinners, while on earth, a fearful foreboding in

their consciences, with despair of being able to endure or to escape it. But what punishment can be sorer than to die without mercy? We answer, to die by mercy, by the mercy and grace which they have despised. How dreadful is the case, when not only the justice of God, but his abused grace and mercy call for vengeance! All this does not in the least mean that any souls who sorrow for sin will be shut out from mercy, or that any will be refused the benefit of Christ's sacrifice, who are willing"

I agree--Sunday is the first day of the week!  And it was either post it yesterday, or wait until tonight, as we had to leave this morning to take Beth to yet another doctor.  And on Wednesday, yet another MRI. Sigh...  This neurologist wants to inject Beth's legs with Botox; says it will relax the muscles and help the pain.  If she were able to walk, that would not be an option.  It is very expensive, he said, several thousand $$$ per treatment, so has to be pre-approved by her insurance.  I don't know how much help it will be, anyway.  I am trying hard to hang onto hope, but it is getting more difficult all the time.

I'm glad you enjoyed the devotional today.  I thought a different approach would be nice.

Darrel's toe that he had the sides of the nail removed, is infected, dangerous for a diabetic!  We were able to have his doctor look at it when we got to Dodge City today, he prescribed antibiotics and told him how to take care of it.

I'm getting my facial from the Mary Kay lady tonight, must run.  (Really rather have a nap, but you know how it is.)

Hi everyone.  Another hot and dry day here in Georgia.  Just watching the news about the hurricane.  Tha is really something.  Also the rains in Oklahoma and Minnesota and that area have really been something.

Have enjoyed the comments on the Bible verse today.  I don't have anything to offer.

After coffee this morning I will drive over to the subway station and meet our daughter and put another rmonth's fare on her MARTA card.  Pat has her quilting guild meeting for the month today.

We did meet our friends for ribs at our favorite restruarant and then went to their house for a little while and played a game of Skip Bo.  We did not stay very late as I am still aching from this cold and by evening just not feeling very good.  However, the cough seems to be a lot better this morning.

Janet, medical costs are so unreasonable.  Our son was talking yesterday when they visited with us for a couple of hours that he was taking some medicine that cost $400 per month.  Sorry to hear of the infection that Darrel is experiencing with his toe.  I didn't have to deal with diabetes and had no problems in having my toes heel.

Hope everyone has a good day even with the challenges that many face.

Good morning, all.  Just got to work after my almost-daily chiropractor visit.

Larry, I hope your cold gets better, and quickly.

Always good to see Marilyn :)  You are a real inspiration to me.  I love your desire for prayer.  That's awesome.

Al, it's my favorite job to keep you straight :)  You know I'm kidding.

Like Larry said, I hope all of you have a good day - even in the tough times.

I'm glad I can supply you with so much pleasure, Nards.

Nards you don't know how wonderful it is t see you posting again, y-all come back ya heah.  <3

I am gong for a blood draw this morning. I am due this month for another cholesterol check.  I have been drinking a lot of water and just hope my veins corporate.

Larry my Daughter in Law's medicine (just one) is $1800. per month. She gets it free from the manufacturer. It is the one for her MS. She is doing pretty well too. She keeps active and eats properly, very careful of what she puts into her body, I think the MS is only progressing very slowly. She is working again, two days per week in a doctor's office.

Janet there comes a time when we as parents have to let go and just let God  take care of our loved ones. You have beat yourself up enough already  over Beth's illness and her care. I am praying for you.

Liz please email me and let me know how everything turned out. You know what I mean.

Time to get moving,

Good afternoon.  A busy day.

My Ultimate TV on my television when ka-put when the lights went out night before last during the lightening/thunder storm.  I tried everything to revive it.  Unplug, wait, unplug.  Replace batteries in the remote...works for the TV.  But to no avail.  Finally called the 1-800 number and a technician is coming but not until Friday afternoon!!!  Withdrawal!!    :'(  I am hoping I can watch the finale of America's Got Talent on the web tomorrow.  That's really the only show I will miss.

Ivalou cut my hair today and we are going to Beef and Boards this evening.  We are going to see 'Best Little *house in Texas'!  I don't even remember the movie.

So I best get to moving or I won't be ready.

Janet

Hello, friends.  This has been a tough few days, but it has to get better.  Last night on my way home, after dropping Pat off at her house, I hit a deer.  Damage to my poor little PT Cruiser is over $3200.00; damage to me, not bad, just requires a few chiropractor visits.  It was 9:00 PM, almost dark, and the doe jumped out of the right hand ditch right into the front and right front of my car--no way could I avoid hitting her.  Thank God, I had my seat belt on, and had my cell phone with me.  I heard an awful noise, of course stopped as quickly as I could and found the right front fender was against the tire.  So I called my dear husband and asked him to bring something to pry the metal away from the tire, he did, and I drove on home.

Darrel asked if I should call the police, so I did, they sent a deputy out to take a report, etc.  He was very kind, even though he said I could have gotten a ticket for leaving the scene of the accident.  I told him I didn't know that was the case when an animal was involved, but did know it if another vehicle was involved.  So I learned something new.  Today I had therapy for my wrist/hand, then went to the chiropractor, then to the insurance office; then Darrel took the car for the appariasal.  So it has been a busy day.

Nards, thanks for the prayers.  Marilyn, are you saying that as a mother I can just suddenly stop caring what happens to my daughter?  I'm sorry, but my love can't be turned off like that.  And thank you for the prayers as well.  I'm sure that Larry and Liz understand where I'm coming from, as they too  have daughters who also have problems.

The Mary Kay facial was really nice, and fun.  But the joy of it evaporated quite suddenly when I hit the deer on the way home.  :-\

I wish you all a lovely afternoon and evening.

Janet!! You surprise Me to think that I could mean such a thing. Of Course not!!

Do  you think I am some kind of a cold Mother?  We never stop caring, but when there is nothing we can do we have to give it to GOD. It is NOT our falut that bad things happen to our children so there is no need to beat ourselves up over any situation that arises, even though we do.

I am praying for your broken heart.

I am so disappointed in your judment call on me.

I am so SHOCKED

I apologize then, Marilyn.  I felt you were making a "judgment call" on ME.  It is easy to say "give it to God", but the facts of life are that even after you do that, the situation is still here, needing to be dealt with as best we can.  And what makes you think I am "beating myself up?"  I guess I'd better stop talking about things that matter to me, if I am as misunderstood as that.  Sorry.

I know that it is not my fault that Beth is suffering as she is; I also know that she doesn't blame me.  And I know that she has no spouse or anyone else to do the things she needs done for her.  I'm not going to just say "Let the care home deal with it!"  Because the last thing she needs is to feel even her parents have abandoned her.

Sorry--I've said too much.  I guess you just struck a raw nerve today.

Janet Maybe the phrase "beating yourself up "was not a good way to put what I was trying to say. I apologize to you as well. and it is still OK to talk about the things that matter to you. I was only trying to sympathize with you and let you know that I care about you. I guess it didn't come across that way to you.
