JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

AWWWW, what a cute lil' mousie!  If Abby were here I would get the stuff and make some of those.  Maybe we can do that when she's out of school for Christmas break!  Thanks for the photo, Etta Sue.  When you told us about making them I wasn't able to picture them in my mind.  A picture truly is worth a thousand words!

My painting meeting was canceled and I have worked all day "decking the halls" so to speak!  The living room, dining room and kitchen look really nice, but my bedroom is a disaster!  All the wrapping stuff is piled in here.

I had to stop what I was doing to go to the care home.  Mom looks bad, feels bad.  So sad to see.  Beth is aggravated because of the lift they have to use for her declining condition.  She and I went to the Sunflower room and I addressed her Christmas cards for her---until we ran out.  She has a lot of friends!  :)

Pat, when are you going to be available to talk?

I must try to get my Christmas letter written!  The days keep flying past!  :o

Hi everyone.  We were gone all morning and then went out to lunch with friends.  I came home and took a quick nap and since then worked for several hours on redoing the website for our PC User Group.  I am using a new program I got and it really makes a nice looking page.  I have a few more hours of work to do on it.  I am now sitting in my easy chair and watching a women's basketball game between Kentucky and Michigan.  It is a good game and tied with only about 2 minutes left.

Etta Sue, I showed the little mouse to Pat and she wanted me to send the picture and how you made it to her.  She likes to make fun things like that for the holidays.  It sounds like you had a good time even if you did have to perform at the show.  The meal sounded very good.

Janet, do Beth's friends visit her in the home?  One of the things my dad couldn't understand was why when he was in the nursing home that so few of his friends would come to visit him.  There were a few that were faithful.  With your sense of art and design I am sure your home but be beautifully decorated.

Pat, I haven't been listening to the Rejoice station but the Pandora site and listened to Christian music all afternoon.

Liz, you are wise to be prepared for a loss of power.  I did something similar a few years ago but probably need to do more.  Hope you won't need to use the items.

Marilyn, glad you are enjoying your new jobs and they sound ideal for your situation with the dogs.  Sorry to read that your hands are bothering you so much.

Smokey, glad you were able to get off to participate in your Christmas music program.

Carol, are you a perfectionist?  You sort of sound like my wife in not thinking somethings she has made are good enough although I don't hear this very much anymore.  Are you getting snow out your way?

Ruth

Etta Sue:   Thanks for sharing your Christmas Mouse with us. I will be getting the ingredients and giving them a try, it sounds time consuming but easy.

This afternoon our son came with a delivery of paper product as he works in the industry, he and his Dad did a couple of errands  one of which they bought an electric insert for our imitation fireplace it looks so much nicer than our very old one, this one also has a heater in it as well.

Marilyn it is good that you puter is back to normal again, you feel lost when something is not in working order.

We are getting more snow this evening I do not think we are to get very much I hope as I would like to go to Cdn Tire for some Christmas Snow to finish putting together my village.

Tomorrow is another day          Ruth

Larry, could you tell us again about Pandora please?

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
(Click to hear music)

Suddenly there was with the angel a great company
of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace,
good will toward men.
Luke 2:13-14

Words: Henry W. Longfellow, 1864

Music: John B. Calkin, 1872

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Till ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men."

Hi everyone, so good to see all the posts from y'all.  Marilyn, I'm glad you are back online and your employment has improved.  Janet, glad you made it home safely, but sorry about your mother and daughter, will be praying.

Pat, I met a couple from Toronto this afternoon.  They were on their way to Florida.  They stopped at my little store while their motor home was being serviced.  I immediately thought of you, (beings that you are from Canada and all!)

Been really busy working and doing school with the kids, I get online but don't have much time to post.

Later,
Samantha :)

Hi Samantha!

Wish I had been with them!  It's so chilly up here.  Have a look in my temperature in my signature and you'll see what I mean!

(Thanks for thinking of me!)

Thanks for the comments on the Christmas Mice.  It is really fast doing them if two people work together.  I coated the cherries with stems in the melted chocolate and laid them sideways on parchment paper.  Kitty put the unwrapped Hershey Kiss on the end of the cherry and added two slices of almonds for ears.  After they set awhile, she put on the eyes and nose with red decorating gel.  Thats it!

Since I am CARless, I am going with Ivalou to church this morning.  It was so much fun last evening at her ministers home.  What a spread of food!!  Then this afternoon Ivalou and I are going to Welliver's Smorgasbord in Hagerstown, IN.  I haven't been there for 40+ years.  It will be our Christmas present to each other.

Good frozen morning to all y-all.  I am going to wear my winter tights under my clothing this morning, also put on two pr of gloves to try to keep my hands from hurting. I wish I could just stay at home where it is nice and warm and not have to go out to the cold car. I will also be wearing my long, lined leather trench coat.

I did manage to get out yesterday and walk the dogs, the day was beautiful but cold.

I spent about two hours IMing with my grand daughter late in the afternoon.

I pray all of you will  be keeping warm today.

Howdy!  It's cold here, but the really bad stuff missed us.  There was a continuous stream of church service cancellation notices running across the TV screen this morning, so much of our area got the bad weather.

Our pastor and wife are having an Open House this afternoon, then tonight is dress rehearsal for the Christmas play the kids are doing next Sunday night, so no evening services at our church tonight.  They are starting (in the new year) something called Six for Dinner.  Everyone who signs up will be divided into groups of six--four adults and two teens--and once a month for three months they will get together for dinner.  When it is the teens' turn, they can either cook or we will go out together for dinner.  Sounds like a nice way to get to know the church family better.  I signed us up!  :)
OH!  After the three months, we will be assigned to new groups for the next quarter, etc.

My computer says it is 23 degrees here, and it feels like it!  But no wind, so could be so much worse!

Prayers for me would be appreciated--my appointment with the eye specialist is early in the morning in Garden City.  Dr. Fry will decide if it is time to remove the cataracts, and I'm praying he will do it.  I went for a consult with him two years ago, and he said no at that time.  I JUST WANT TO SEE!!

Marilyn, do you have arthritis or rheumatism in your hands, or is it some other problem?  I'm so glad I had my surgery and my hand no longer hurts!

Larry, thank you for those kind words.  I wish I could say you are right, but I am not a great decorator!  But I like what I have done, guess that's what counts.  I'm so excited for you and the wonderful Christmas you will enjoy with your family!  God is SO GOOD!!!  :)

It's a little cold in here, my back is freezing, think I will go where it is warmer!

We have another little 'winter wonderland' on the island this morning.  The snow came one day early and it is supposed to rain later today.  Then one day of sunshine tomorrow.  So could surely be much worse....!  Cold, but pretty  :)  The cold here is so damp..not like in Alberta.

I didn't go out last night, it was so cold.  Wendy can hardly move this morning and it was not good for her....They had a nice group turn out and much singing went on.  This type of gathering is so good for everyone now, what with all the change going on around the area.  Neighbors getting to know one another and watching out for problems.  It all started with the death of that beautiful young Christian daughter, when people reached out to the parents.  So God's influence is present.....

Have read all the posts and will pray for the problems mentioned.

Pat, I tried Pandora when Larry first mentioned it, they wouldn't do Canada.  So much for free trade!!!!   ;)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

Liz, the gathering sounds so nice, sorry you had to miss it.  In these days of hurry-scurry, hustle-bustle, we need to slow down and make time for appreciating people.  Maybe if we all try to just give a warm smile and look into people's eyes and say something kind, it will go a long way toward a more civil world.  What do you think?

Stay warm!

Janet I have a bone spur at the base of my left thumb, been there for years. But lately (last 3 years) has been very painful at times. I have developed a cyst on top of the wrist bone, the one that sticks up. I am sure there is some arthritis or rumatoid arthrits as my little fingers are crooked and maybe some Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. God healed me of CPS 9 years ago.

Good sermon this morning but Danny got rather long wnded at the end telling stories. We went way overtime and I was starving by the them he let us go. I have eating my spinach salad right now. It has tomato, clementine tangerine, red bell pepper, celery, olive oil, vinegar, and fat free sour cream. I will also have a grilled cheese sandwich.

Carol

I am sad beyond belief over the shootings at a missionary school in Arvada - we were watching our grandson play hockey & thrilled at their win over the   #1 placed team - & he had 1 goal and 2 assists - big scoring.  We were right down a few blocks from the deranged killer.  Just make me so sick over this violence & a church in Colorado Springs had a shooter so they are trying to find out if it is the same person.  Imagine - that huge church had an armed security guard.  What in the world is happening to our county?

Marilyn:  When things hurt a lot, I take a generic Aleve.  Blessings to you as you!

Larry:  We have about 5 in. of snow, have new tires so the minivan did alright today - we just wanted to watch our grandson play and visit with the children at a pizza place.  Our wishes were granted - I am sick at heart over the sad news of this rough society.  When gentle, loving people are hated so much.

Pray for these families.  Carol

Well Our Christmas program went well on Saturday, we had about 110 who came. A few more than on Friday. We dodged the bullitt weather wise. They were predicting sleet and freezing rain for Saturday night, but it held off till Sunday afternoon, and then it wasn't as bad, as they had predicted.

Just some thoughts from Sunday morning

Choir performances are like life... you just have to keep going

Sunday morning we did about half the christmas program, and boy did things go wrong! We had problems with the sound, the monitors weren't working, the mikes on the actors developed severe scratching noises, and we had plenty of feedback. On one number the CD even started to skip! (I thought that went out with records!) We started that song over. Even though we had all those problems, we still got through it. We will all have problems in life. With God's help we will be able to keep on "performing" for Him!

FYI  the name of the program was "In the fullness of time" by Richard Kingsmore

Hi everyone.

We are going to have a very unseasonable 75 degrees today and about that for the next 3 days.

Last evening was our Sunday School Christmas party and we had a carry-in dinner with everyone pitching in for the ham and turkey.  One of the ladies had beautifully decorated the big round tables and everyone seemed to have a very good time.  I think we had 25 in attendance.

Pat is at the church this morning with her portable sewing machine helping make  costumes for our Christmas cantata new Sunday evening.  Our church has been borrowing costumes and our director decided it was time to have some of our own.

Carol, that was certainly a tragedy with the shootings in your area yesterday.  Glad you got to see your grandson play and be your family for pizza.

Pat, www.pandora.com is a website that lets you select the artist or type of music you want to hear and it will play some by that person and similar music by lesser known artists, which I have found to be of excellent quality.  You can setup your own stations after you do the free registration.  It doesn't put any software on your computer.  Liz, I didn't realize it wouldn't work in Canada.  I would think it would be available world-wide although I can see they might not allow registration outside the US.

Smokey, the problems in your program sounds like the things that directors would least like to happen but the program must go on.

Marilyn, sorry it is so cold out your way and that your hand is hurting so much.

Janet, we are really looking forward to Christmas this year with those little ones.  We have even done our shopping early.

I am going out to get Pat's Christmas present this morning but want to wait until they open and be sure they haven't sold out before I make the trip to the mall area.  I want to get up there an back before Pat gets home.

Pat

Ohhh, Smokey!

What a hassle for the folks running the program.  I bet it was still enjoyed though.

Larry when I click on the Pandora link, here's what I get:

Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for most listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

We believe that you are in Canada (your IP address appears to be 99.225.42.13). If you believe we have made a mistake, we apologize and ask that you please contact us at pandora-support@pandora.com

Hi all!

I have my car back.  Not fixed but okay, I guess.  There is a drain from the instrument panel on the battery and one small drain from the radio on the battery.  He said when I leave my GPS on that adds to the drain and if left un-started for 4-5 days, my battery will be dead.  So he says to make sure all my lights are off and my GPS's are UNPLUGGED, not just turned off AND to start the engine every other day at least, that I should have no problems.  He said it was quite costly to get the instrument panel fixed and the radio checked out.  So I told him....one more time of having to use a quick start or a charger, and I would bring it back and get it fixed right!

So Kitty took me to get my car.  Then I went to the bank.  I am baking baked beans in the oven right now and when they are done and cooled enough to handle, I am going to Kitty's to help her put a kitchen together for her granddaughter, Katie, for Christmas.  Then tonight is a pitch-in at the Photo Guild.  Big day!!
