Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Larry you are so right I don't spoil my dogs  the least little bit. :D
Bebe doesn't seem to want to eat today.  I will see how she is tomorrow, she does this every now and then.

This evening Gilbert and Sarah are going to Eureka to see Bill Clinton speak and I am in charge of the kids. I will be picking them up at swim practice, the go for pizza then on to the University to a program put on by the Science department in preparation for the coming Science Fair.

Gotta go now.

That's a great shot of the squirrel, Pat.  He posed just as if he knew what was happening.  The bird was something, too.  He didn't look very hungry, though - just FULL!

Yes Pat, you blog is awesome! Was that a Red squirrel in the picture? We are taliking about having a cull on the grey squirrels here to save our reds. The greys bully and eat all the food and also carry a disease which the reds are not imune to. Beautiful pictures on your blog!

Pat

No, Colin, not a red.  It's just the common grey but it looks as if it has some brown in it.

It is below zero F at our house right now - it is always cooler here than the weather thermometer reads on the computer.

I have a cousin undergoing prostrate cancer surgery today.  Yesterday, a gal I graduated high school with wrote that her son is now in hospice from his colon cancer so I am determined that all of our children will get that colonoscopy test.

We are off to the gym this morning.  I think I need to look into something like Glucosomine or whatever would help the joint pain - it just gets old.  Any ideas, any recommendations?

Carol

Hi everyone.  We actually have some snow on the ground and trees and bushes have ice on them.  However, the ice is not enough to break the branches.  The roads in our area never got slick.  It is suppose to dry off today and I think the ice is beginning to melt now.

Our grandson is suppose to come over and clean the house for us today.  It has been quite a few days and it really needs a good cleaning.  So far we haven't heard from him.

Ruth Ann, glad to see that you are using the time you have earned and not letting it slip away.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

Pat, maybe the weather will be better by Monday.

Hi Al, Etta Sue, and Colin.  It is nice to see you checking in.

I did get out and go to coffee a the Cafe.  If it hadn't been for our group they really wouldn't have had many come in.  We stayed a little longer than normal as don't think anyone was anxious to get back out in the weather.

I don't have any alppointments or things I need to go to so will enjoy the day at home.

Carol, I have been very thankful that I made the decision I did not to have the prostate surgery and just do the radiation seeding.  I was checked again this week and my PSA is basically undectable.  Some men end up with terrible problems with the surgery but sure hope that doesn't happen to your friend.  I agree with you that everyone over a certain age needs to have a colonoscopy test.  I have seen the effects o colon cancer on a couple of friends and it is a really tough way to die.

Marilyn, your dog may not have liked the recipe you fixed for them the last time.  :)  Seriously, I hope Bebe will soon be feeling better.

Al Moak

Carol - if the joint pain is due to deterioration of the joints (arthritis), then glucosamine is definitely indicated, along with Chondroitin and MSM.  But if it's only in one joint, then it probably needs to be evaluated by a physician to determine if it is some other problem, in which case glucosamine wouldn't help.

JudyB

Thanks for the info on the joints Al.  John has been taking the codliver oil orange juice combo and it hasn't helped.  He has pulled/torn ligaments in his knee and that is causing no end of grief.  At least driving he is off the leg and not aggrevating things further.

We have a skiff of snow that fell during the night. It is amazing how much snow has gone.  Before the thaw we had trouble seeing over the snow banks, now there are no snow banks.  Really strange weather we are having this year.

Pat tried to get into your blogspot, to no avail.  Explorer shut down on me.  I will try again later today.

I have to run. I have teaching to do.

Blessings Judy

Pat, your squirrel is so cute!  Also the junco--what a cute bird.  I also looked at more of your photos.  I'm amazed what a good photographer you are.  (Too bad you can't photograph yours and Paul's wedding.  ;))  Drive defensively, have a great time, and come home safely.  <3

Larry, it isn't often you get ice there, is it?  Darrel says the most miserable winter he ever spent was in Georgia, while he was in the army.  Cold and damp, he said.

Carol, I highly recommend glucosamine and chondroitin for joint pain.  Several members of my extended family use it, with good results.  But also, a good chiropractor can really help with those pains.  Mine adjusts my wrists and ankles and it really does stop the pain.  Those are my suggestions.  :)

We had snow, wind and ice here.  Church was canceled because of the weather.  It looks better today.

I need to be getting around, want to go exercise pretty soon.

Oh!  I forgot to tell Etta Sue that I have seen Run for Your Wife, and it was a cute play, I thought.  Our local group is working on Nunsense for their next production.  We saw that at Dodge, and it is hilarious.  Now they have three more on the same line, same characters, etc.  We saw the third or fourth one, and it wasn't nearly as good as the original.  Our conclusion was that they have played it for all it was worth and it's time to move on.   ;)

Marilyn, do your hands feel better yet?

Ruth Ann, so glad you have a few days off.  Is your son still there, or has he gone back to England?

Judy, John hasn't been on the cod liver oil/orange juice long enough for him to say it doesn't work!!!!

I'll get out my whip after him!!!  You have proof right here with someone who has a disability licence plate and used Jack's walking sticks with no further need for these that it DOES WORK but it's not supposed to work as quickly as it did for me!  And there's no big costs involved either!!!!!

You must get the book.  Anyway, no more from me.  I just know that he's not been on it 1/10th long enough for him to say it doesn't work.

Thanks Janet!  I can't honestly believe the comments I'm getting under that squirrel and the junco and they are still happening.  I hope that you click on the word "Comments" under the two photos and have a little read.  I'm honoured.

Pat he has torn ligaments in his knee.....Of course it won't work for that.

I have a very finikity dog here.  She won't eat her food unless there is cod liver oil mixed with it.  Marilyn try it, your pooch may eat better, just don't smell his breath...real fishy.  Her coat is becoming silky with the oil.

We are struggling to get work done today  It is frustrating, because there is a certain amount that has to be done.  Evven I am struggling.  We may work Saturday and make today a short day.  John won't be home till late in the afternoon so that won't be a problem.  They do so enjoy being and working with him when he is home.

Well back to the grind.

Etta Sue

Euchre was fun yesterday.  I didn't win.  But the conversations were great.  Afterwards, Ivalou and I stayed and played a marble game with Janet and Sam.  First I didn't like the game.  Then Janet and I won.  I like the game now.

Ivalou and I ran a marathon of doctor appointments today.  Ivalou doesn't have to go back for four weeks for her Pro-Time test and to take her chip from her CPAP to be read.  I got a clean bill of health for my cystoscopy and my flexible laryngoscopy.  I return for both tests again next January and in six weeks, respectfully.

Then Ivalou and I went to El Camino Real and had chimichangas.  Yummmm!

Ivalou didn't sleep well last night so she said she was going to take a nap.  I didn't sleep very well either but I hope to stay awake until bedtime!

It has snowed all day today.  Everything was white when we left this morning but now it is melting when the snow hits the ground.  Not too bad out at all!

Larry I gave her some turkey and that stimulated her appetite then she ate.

Judy I have been giving my dogs Cod Liver Oil for a long time. They love it.

Pat I did go to you blog and look at your photos you have done a wonderful job with your new camera. I just didn't leave a comment.

Carol I too recommend Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM but I have also added Hyaluronic acid to my joint regimen and of course the fish oil.

Janet the pain in my hand comes and goes throughout the day depending on what I am doing. The right isn't anywhere  near as bad as the left. The cold weather really affects them. Keeping them warm is the best help for me.

Got to go walk the dogs.

Yup, I agree.     I have allergies to some things, but I have been using Hyaluronic acid for about 4 years, and started cod liver oil a few months ago (my neighbor recommended it).  I also agree that the cold weather is a real "pain"   :-\

I want to thank all y'all who prayed for a peaceful, painfree passing for my friend in Fort Worth, TX.  I received word this morning that she passed away yesterday morning.  Before she died, her daughter said, all three of her kids, and their families sat in her room and sang hymns and talked and laughed, reminiscing about different events in their lives.  I'm sure that built memories they will cherish for a long time to come.

Dorothy's three grown children (2 daughters and a son) all live in Ft. Worth and they are very close.  That's a good thing, as Martha would say.  ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

:)  Hi to all.  I know that it is late and it seems that time just goes to fast when you have company from overseas.  Thanks for all your prayers for my wife and I for the long time it has been having visitors and it will be nice to have our place back to ourselves.

Also answered prayer with concern to my grandson and his back.  He was at the hospital on Wednesday and the surgeon is very happy and he says that he is getting strong just like a normal baby boy.  They will take x-rays when he is 3 months to see what changes there is to his vertibrae so we are trusting the Lord.

Again I have gone through some of the posting's and they are very encourageing.  May the Lord be with you all. <3

Good morning!  I'm ready to run away from home for a day!  I am driving to Fowler to visit the painting class I'm missing.  The last day is so valuable because Glenn gives a critique on all the work done during the week.  I used to tremble at the word "critique" as I was afraid it would be picked apart and criticized, but that isn't the way either Jack or Glenn does it.  They honestly compliment all the good points (sometimes things you hadn't even noticed!) and then gently suggest things you could do to improve it.  Very educational, and nobody feels at all bad.  Very cool.  8)

It's cold here, I don't know the temp, but yesterday started at 0!  Brrrr.

See you later!

Hi everyone.  Just back from the Senior Center Men's Coffee. We only had about a dozen men attend but we always have an enjoyable time.  I have a luncheon appointment with a good friend at noon and then will probably take it easy the rest of the day.  Unfortunately our grandson didn't get here yesterday to do the heavy cleaning so it still needs to be done.

Janet, hope you pick up a lot of pointers for your painting from the critique.

Marilyn, how is your new schedule working out for you?

Etta Sue, Euchere is a fun game.  I have it on my computer and occasionally play it.  Where I grew up they did not play it but some years ago I had a boss who did and one night after bridge he showed us how to play.  It is a pretty fast game.

JudyB, I believe you have a spoiled dog as well.  I always thought it was cats that were so finicky.  Hope John finds something that will relieve his pain.

Pat, sure glad that you found something that has helped you get around better.

Gord, it is nice to have company but, like you, I always feel a sense of relief when they leave.

Jane, it is good that the suffering for your friend is over and that her family were with her at her passing.  That is an experience I had with my mother that I will never forget.

Hi Al and all who stop by today.

Etta Sue

Larry ~ When I first got the computer, I went to Yahoo and was playing Euchre.  I didn't realize that I was actually playing with other people until I noticed at the bottom that I was getting cussed out because I wasn't playing fast enough.  That wasn't for me so I left and never went back.  Is your Euchre a game for yourself or do you play with others?

Well, Tony is to come today and fix a water leak in my crawl space.  Then if it is near lunch, I will take him to get a pizza or a sandwich somewhere.

Also Ivalou is having some bleeding in her urine.  She thought it stopped but she was up all night so called the family physician since when she mentioned it to the nurse at the cardiologist and she didn't think it was coumadin related.  So Ivalou has an appointment at 3pm.  I will drive her.  So say a quick prayer that it isn't anything serious.

When it rains, it pours!!

Kitty called me yesterday afternoon.  They were spending the night at Louisville, KY, and will be home today!  Hurray!!

Bright and sunny in Indiana but COLD!!  Only 18° right now!!  Brrrrr!!

Pat

Hello Everyone!

Where in the world has this week gone?  It seems as if it was just yesterday  that I opened this topic with the devotional in it.

Last night was the Guelph Hiking Trail Club monthly Slide/Photo Night and it was my turn and I had some wonderful DVDs sent to me from England that were from the BBC Four channel on their TV on hiking the mountains of Wales/England/Scotland and also 9 Wainwright walks in the Lake District.  Well, usually we have between 20 and 30 out for these nights and we had 46 out!!  It was a lovely evening and all enjoyed movies.

It's snowing quite heavily outside here today.

Good Morning everyone .

Larry I like my new hours as I have every afternoon to myself to do whatever I need to do.

Today I need to take some stuff out to the kids in Blue Lake after work. I was hoping they would come here to pick it up. I also need to do the usual weekly cleaning and laundry over the next day and ½.

Janet you have a safe trip

Pat glad to hear you meeting was so enjoyable.

Etta Sue I hope Ivalou is ok.

Almost packed, we are going to granchild visit while the parents go skiing and snowshoeing for the weekend.  No hockey game to take grandson to - instead, we are thinking of several other things including the huge Stockmen's Show in Denver - it is so big now that they may need to move out to larger spaces & this is a very old show.

I do have more than knee pain at times, thumbs, wrist, shoulder.  I do take fish oil, 2 X daily & calcuim 2 X daily.  Gotta remember the bones everyone.  I have not lost any height at all.

Al:  I copied your note.  Thank you - I tend to forget the other aches & twinges when it isn't happening &  if anyone asks me how I feel - "Fine" is the answer.  Really feel aged some times though.

Jane & Marilyn:  I will check out that Hyaluronic Acid and see what it helps - ready to do something though because of the bitter cold winter here and it has had an effect on me.

Janet:  Hooray for you - one class.

Gordon:  Thinking of you and your wife.

Judy B:  Hello - It sounds like you have so much going on - I send my wishes for your good health and John's good health as well.

Pat:  You sound happy in your posts, must be

Taking a llittle sewing project for my granddaughter and perhaps a puzzle for both of them.  They have strict instructions on how much they can get on computer or any t.v.   They can play the piano for us and read books & go sliding - it is so cold but they don't seem to mind it at all - I used to be that way & Don grew up in Duluth, Minnesota so he is never bothered by the cold.  He sometimes puts on a llight jacket while I am in three layers of wool or fleece  ;)

Have a good and loving weekend.  Carol\

Have a good time, Carol   When will you be home?

Yes, Marilyn, it was a lovely evening.

I'm off to get my travel insurance from CAA

I will try again.  I have tried twice today to post and was shut down each time.

We have a cold windy day here.  Minus 25 celsius as the high, brrrr that is cold.  Mind you I remember mid January being minus 40, so minus 25 isn't quite that cold.

About our Cimi being spoiled, we call her the prima dona.  She is such a gentle old lady and loving to the nth degree.  BUT she will only eat her food out of her bowl,  the other dog bowls are beneath her.  LOL To know her is to love her.

Girls are working hard today.  I am impressed, they are working on USA geography, and thorouogh y enjoying it.  It is amazing to me how much they remember from their trips in the truck of the geography they saw.

Carol enjoy your trip.

hi Marilyn.

Pat enjoy your trip, can't wait to talk to you when you get back!  Yes the week has gone fast.

Etta Sue praying.

Anyone I have missed...sorry, just remember We all love hearing the news.  And I do pray for weach need represented here.

God bless all

Pat

Hi Judy...  Sure it's C? and not F?  Your thermometer in your signature says 19F and minus 7!  Still too cold for me!  I'll post this and see what mine shows.

Hi everyone.  I was just listening to the weather this morning and we are expected to get from 1-3 inches of snow this afternoon and evening.  It is raining right now so we have a danger of ice as well.  Our minister had me put up a notice on our website about the possibility of either changing or canceling our Sunday morning services, depending on the road conditions.  I am expecting a decision by 10 pm so I can put up the appropriate information.

We have a meeting to attend this morning and then should be able to stay in until the roads are clear again after the snow.  A snow storm is a big thing down here.  It is suppose to get to 17 degrees tonight.

Judy, I sure disagree with you about -25 degrees not being cold.  The year my mother passed we were in Northern Iowa the first part of January and it was well below zero and it was very, very cold.

Carol, hope  you have a wonderful weekend with your grandchildren.

Pat, it sounds like your Hiking Club meeting was a great success.  That is a lot of people in a room.  How long will you be in the USA on this trip?  Sure that Paul is counting the hours.

Etta Sue, like you I played games with other folks over the Internet but really didn't enjoy it so it has been a long time since I have done that.  I bought a Hoyle game pack that had Euchere, Hearts, Spades and several other games.  However, it is very frustraing to be beaten by the computer.  :)

Hi Marilyn, hope you got your laudry taken care of and can find some spare iminutes for yourself.

Time for coffee.

Samantha

Morning everyone,  we need your prayers again.  Terry had another episode with his heart.  I called for him, thats how bad it was.  We stayed in the ER for about 4hrs for them to say that they don't know what to do other than put  him on a 72 holter monitor, (again!)  So, it looks like we are starting over.  But, the ER doctor was a Christian and said he would pray for him, and that was nice.   Hopefully, this time the monitor will pick up something and they will know what to do for him.  Please remember him.

Have been reading all the posts, Larry, we missed the snow last night, but got a good dusting on Wednesday.

Later,
Samantha
