Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Samantha ~  Pa-tooey!  I don't like to read news like Terry's.   :clobber: I am praying they find out a fix for him quick!

Larry ~ I like playing Mahjongg--I have three software CD's...each are different.  And I discovered Spider Solitaire that I like very well.  Problem is I am not 'caught up' on the computer until I play each of these at least once!  Time consuming...but all I have is time!

Pat ~ Your temp thingy shows 18F.  My WeatherBug shows 5F!!  Not fair.  You are north...you should be colder weather!!  It is bright and sunny here but oh, so cold....Brrrrr!

JudyB ~ One Christmas we had -50F chill factor.  We were going to Alabama for Christmas.  We had blankets, layers of clothing on, thermos of coffee, candles, flashlights, boots, coats...everything to survive if we got stranded even a few minutes on the interstate.  The heater was on high and the blower on high and the windshield frosted up....on the inside!!!!  What were we thinking to travel on such a cold night??

Carol ~ I know you will enjoy grandchild visiting so no need to wish you do.  I never was one to like playing outside in the winter even here in Indiana.  I can only imagine how cold it gets in the winter in Colorado simply because I have seen those snow-capped mountains in the hot summertime!!  I have a small area of temperature that I am comfortable in....not above 72F and not below 68F.  BUT I do remember of playing in the snow in Colorado in July and that was heavenly!

Marilyn ~ Thanks for the concern for Ivalou.  That means a lot.

Tony came yesterday morning and crawled in my crawl space and fixed a water leak.  It was just a drip....drip...not spraying so we used an All Purpose Cement.  Worked fine.  No drip...drip now.  Then I paid him with pizza and bread sticks at Pizza King in Lapel.  Good to have time with my son.  In fact, I love it.

Ivalou took Marge to have some out-patient surgery on her knee yesterday.  If she thought she wouldn't be home by 2:30pm, she was going to call me to come to the surgery center and take Marge home while Ivalou went to the doctor.  But Ivalou got home about 2:10pm.  I drove her to the doctor and she has a real bad bladder infection.  Later she was telling me she was scared to death.  See, her husband had bladder cancer but when it found out it was cancer, his bladder was removed...the tumor was the size of a softball.  Then he went through the chemo and all the side effects of that.  Ivalou has never had a bladder infection so she didn't know what that was but she knew what Charles went through with bladder cancer.  Thank God, it was an infection.  I called her this morning and the antibiotic and OTC meds did the trick last night...she got a great nights rest!

Then Kitty called to say she was home and if I would come and go out   with her to eat.  So I went over and we went out.  I didn't eat since I had just eaten with Ivalou.  Then back to Kitty's to see some of her pictures and movies of Katie, her granddaughter, taken at Disney World.

I didn't get home until 9 something!

Again, it is very cold this morning.  Bright and sunny but Brrrrrr!

Take your pick....my temp thingy says 21 F.  My Weather Bug says 7 F.  My thermometer says 10 F.  It's below 68 F so it is

JudyB

We did go down to the minus 25 C and it was hard keeping the house warm.  On go the layers of sweaters.  I know the temperature thingy says otherwise but I go by the thermnometer outside and the weather reports from the air port at the military base.  Yes that is c-c-c-cold.  It is only -14C today.(+10F)

Not much going on today. So I am off to check the photo's.  Come on over and join me.

Marilyn

Good Morning everyone. Well the thermometer on my computer says it is  35 here, I think that is at the airport. I don't have an outside temp gauge but I put the one from my desk out there and will let you know what that one says.

I have all my housework and laundry done and my CPAP equipment is in the dish drainer (done too).

I am waiting to hear from a friend to see if she is postponing her vacation another week or not. There is a Women's conference next weekend and I would like to go but need someone to go with. We would be staying at Susan's  other house in Willits whether or not she was on vacation. But  I don't know the location of her house.

Samantha I sure do pray that  those Doctors find out what the problem is with Terry's heart.

Hi Everyone!

Brrr... it's cold here.  Geordie didn't want to stay out for very long.  It's such a cold wind.

I'm getting ready to leave on Monday.

I have  to  admit that I enjoy reading all the discussion about low temps, etch.  I lived at approx. 5500 feet a few years ago, and we had snow about 60 days per year.  Quite often the three passes into California or Nevada were closed, so we had no way out for days at a time.  And the temps were around 0 to 15 quite a bit.  I shovelled snow - a lot. Thanks, but no  thanks!  Here in McKinleyville it never gets below about 30 F, and it never gets much above 90 F in the summer.  Yeah!  I like it!

Pat

Well, it's minuis 10 C right now here in Guelph, Al.  I'm looking forward to the balmy temperatures of Virginia on Monday!  HAHAHA! :sidedance:

Janet

It's far from balmy here, too!  And more of the white stuff predicted for Sunday night into Monday.  I'm thankful to have a warm home, and not have to get out early and go to work.

I had a nice day yesterday visiting the painting class.  I didn't get to paint, just watch, visit and listen, but I really enjoyed it.  I do have my portrait class coming up next month, so looking forward to that.

Today I spent the whole day at the library at our monthly scrapbooking get-together.  Some gals from Abby's town came up, and brought Abby with them, so that was special.  She had a good time scrapbooking her own little book, and then spent time making Valentines.  Of course I loved having her there.

Prayers for all those needing them who have requested.

Pat, we will miss you, but have a wonderful time!

I have barely seen my sweetheart today, so must go spend some time with him.

Well, thankfully the computer has a new hard drive and it's working very well. So, maybe I'll be able to be around more.

No time to talk - need to get ready to go to church with my son. This is the last day I'll get to be with him. Oh, how nice it's been to see him these 3 weekends!

Brrr - it's 10 degrees here in Nashville, too. Wonder if the truck will start?

More later.

Love to all - Ruth Ann

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd say "Hi" and chime in with the weather in my area.  We woke up to about an inch of snow and the temp right now is 32 degrees F.

Hey, how do I get a thermometer in my signature?  I see that most people have them, but I don't know how to get one.  Please enlighten me!  :) Thanks.

Have a great Lord's Day everyone!

Blessings, Kathleen

Good afternoon on this cold sunny & windy day ( the wind is out of the north) in Nobleton.

I have a lot of reading to get caught up on but I would like to extend my congratulations to you Pat and may you & Paul have a wonderful life together.

Our breadfast today was grits with strawberries on top with a little brown sugar and milk.  yum it is sure good.

In a few minutes I must leave for a funeral home visitation.

Brrrr!  When I got to Greenfield, one of the temperature marquees said
1° F!!!  My car was mighty stiff when I first took off.  I ran the heater on high all the way after it warmed up!

Both sermons were great today...as always.

I ate at Taco Bell and then went to WalMart to get a few things.  It sure was cold walking in that parking lot and gusty wind from the west as I went back to the car!!

Got an email from Kitty...one of her bathrooms....the pipes are frozen.  They have 5 bathrooms.

Ivalou left me a message saying she has a pot of chili on the stove and asked me to come over this evening to eat.  The ticket is that I need to bring some crackers....she is out!

Speaking of temps; Darrel is watching the football game, and the temp there is 0  :o with a wind chill factor of -15.  I wouldn't want to be sitting in the stands watching that one!  Makes you cold just looking at the people from inside a nice warm house!

They are going to sell one of our schools.  This one is about 10 miles out in the country; was built for the children of the people who worked in the gas plants out that way years ago.  Now it isn't being used any more.  I wish I were younger--and wealthy--I would buy it and use it for kids camps, family reunions, community gatherings, etc.  There is a kitchen, gymnasium, classrooms; plus a 4 bedroom house, all on 8 acres of land.  I do hope someone buys it and puts it to a good use!  They are having open house so people can look it over and decide whether they want to bid on it.  I think I will just drive out and take a look!  The school was remodeled and repaired just a few years ago after a tornado, and used until about 3 years ago.

I will try to stop by again after I get home.

Hi everyone.  It is only 22 degrees F here.  We did have snow all afternoon but it really didn't accumulate or cause any problems on the roads around here.  They had more snow in other parts of the Atlanta area. It is cold but very sunny and truly a lovely day today.  All of our church services were cancelled except the 11:15 am service.  I am sure there were some embarrassed ministers and others in the deciding business as the roads were totally clear and dry, at least in this area and many churches cancelled their services.  It was another example of the news media selling us a bill of goods that was far from what the truth was.  They hyped the storm for two days and yesterday it was full time.  The best one was when they went to a reporterette on location who reported there was nothing to report but managed to take at least two minutes to say it.

We did attend church and there was a pretty good crowd and the church was warm.  A group of 13 of us went out to lunch together following lunch and now I am watch the football game where it is so cold.  The one tonight in Green Bay should be interesting.

Janet, it was very nice that you had some special time with Abby.

Etta Sue, glad to read that Ivalous is feeling better today.  My wife has played the Mah Jongg game on the computer for years and has several versions of it.

Hi Ruth and Kathleen--good to see you posting.

Ruth Ann, glad you have your computer fixed again.  Enjoy this last Sunday with your son for awhile.

Pat, have you checked with Paul on the balmy temperatures?  I have a feeling it is pretty chilly in his area as it is down here in Georgia.  Hope you find all the roads nice and clear.

Al, I think where you live now sounds much better than where you once lived.

Marilyn, hope things work out for you so you can attend your conference.

Judy, it is unusual to see you comment about not having much to do.  Hope you enjoyed your day.

JudyB

It was minus 28C this morning when we woke up.  brrrr really cold.

Our Pastor Was really good today.  What we really like about him is the fact that everything he says is backed by scripture.  So often we hear pastors who don't do the scripture cross references and somehow it causes me to wonder.  On top of that he puts all the scriptures on overhead.  makes it easier for writing them down.

Janet that would be an awesome thing to do!  You could rent it out for weddings or reunions, then it would be available for your doo's.  The house could be rented for the cost of the mortgage!.... Yes I am dreaming.

Ruth I had grits on the road when I was driving.  Thankyou but no thankyou.  I think it is an acquired taste, one I haven't acquired!

John leaves again tomorrow morning.  I do envy him being able to go to the milder climates, but driving for a living is work and much of the time requires split second decisions.

We pass a area where there is a dam and it spillls over onto rocks.  I was caught up bu the scene at the hydro dam this morning going to church.  The water is considerably warmer than the air and all the trees were covered in hor frost.  It was an awesome sight.  I didn't have my cell phone or camera to take a picture of it.  I hope tomorrow is as beautiful as today was.  John is taking the camera, and if the trees are  as coated with the frost he will stop for pictures.

Well I have to go, I have his meals to prepare for the road, preparing at home like this saves an enormous amount of money.  He would spend in excess of $250 a week if I didn't.

Bye for now
JudyB

Larry - can you help Kathleen?  She would like to get one of those temperature bugs we've got on our posts, but she doesn't know how.  I don't either.  Do you?

Marilyn

I sent her an IM on how to do the temps and where to go to get them.

Church was great this morning. The music was a bit too loud, a new lady came and left saying that she couldn't even get into worship because the music was so loud it hurt her ears. I have been telling that to the pastor for 3 years. I even take earplugs and let the pastor see me putting them in my ears. She left a not with me for the Pastor.

I am so happy but I can't tell you why yet. That will come in time. There may be some changes for me in the future. Just know that I am smiling from ear to ear and then some.

Hmmmm - Marilyn. Now you've got me wondering!!

Pat, do please be careful while driving. We want you to receive a great, warm welcome and enjoy your visit.

Marilyn, I don't know how to do the temp thing either, but don't have IM on my machine.

In fact, right now, I don't have much of anything excepting a new hard drive and someone set it up so all add-ons are disabled. I wish I knew a guru!!

Y'all have a good evening.

We are back - had a mostly lovely time with the grands although I don't care for their lazy ways in the mornings ---- so, I found an air-horn in the cabinet and used it instead of yelling.... ha!   they will never forget that sound in the morning.  We all got a great laugh out of it.    ^-^

Ruth Ann:  I failed to mention how wonderful it must be for you to have a son who is actually making records in the music business.

Thanks for the tip, Marilyn. Your programming works fine. No wonder I'm so cold! It's 17 degrees outside. Brrrrr

Hi everyone.  It is really cold here today and I had to bring in the little heater from the bathroom into my office for the first time today.  The warmth feels very good.  It was chilly at the cafe and the ice machine water lines had frozen over the weekend and the cafe had to go across the sreet to the drug store to buy big bags of ice.  At least the ice didn't melt while they crossed the street with it.

Not much on the agenda today.  I don't have anywhere I need to go.  Pat is going to go walking at the Methodist church as they provide a nice indoor walking track and then on to Wal-Mart but I am staying in.

I did enjoy watching the football games yesterday afternoon and especially last evening.  It was an exciting game that went into overtime.

Judy, I expect John would much rather have a homemade meal as to eat at a truck stop.  Does his truck have the living accommodations in it?  I saw a program not too long ago that showed the living accommodations in some of these big rigs--not shabby.

Al, I appreciated Marilyn providing the information on the temperature coding.

Marilyn, shame on you for teasing us like that. :)  Glad to see it is something that is making you happy.  It is too bad when the volumne of the music drives folks away from your church.  Maybe this will help get the message across that they need to tone it down.

Ruth Ann, you have a clean slate with your computer.  It can be a lot of work restoring it in the way you have been used to having it.

Carol, I loved your story about the airhorn.  I bet your grandchildren won't forget that experience.

Hi Samantha.

I am sure Pat must be on the road to Virginia today.  Hope she has a safe and enjoyable trip.
