At the end of Blackpools North Pier, they built a helicopter landing pad, which was ever so popular for flights along the promenade, I don't know if it was a storm or fire that put paid to this little venture, but the helicopter once belonged to a radio & TV host, Noel Edmunds, someone else who's long faded into media oblivion, aparently he's a Christian.
