JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I thought I posted earlier.  I guess not.

I was doing my computing stuff this morning when the phone rang and it was Kitty...wanting to know if I wanted to go shopping and have lunch out.

So she came and we went to Shoe Carnival for her a pair of shoes which she didn't find what she wanted.  Then Meijer's to find the candy pumpkins by Zachary that are like gum drops...the hostess had them at Euchre yesterday so I got some for my Euchre Clubs here next month.  Then we ate at a Mexican restaurant and back to Barnes and Noble.  I was looking for the PaintShop Pro magazine but they didn't have it.  So we went to Borders Book Store.  I found more than I should.  I got two PSP magazines...new one out today.  I also got a parallel Bible...NIV and The Message.  Also the best seller book, The Shack, and a cute bookmark.  Too much but I know I will enjoy each and every item.

It is really hot today but I am not going to turn on my A/C.  I am not going to turn on my A/C.  I am not going to turn on my A/C.  There....I said it.  I have a fan on me so I am comfortable.

:)Good afternoon to all.  Everybody seems to be very busy and it is good to be that way as it helps keep our minds alert.  My wife and I got up early today as from now on I have classes at the Y.M.C.A. for the cardiac program that I am involved in.  So the class starts at 8-30 a.m. on Wed. and Fri. and then my wife is able to go to Aqua-fit class in the pool which is one of the things she is able to do. So we don't leave the Y. M.C.A. till approx. 10-45 so when we finally get home we feel a little tired.

Larry:  We will remember your kids and your son sure has been having a rough time.  How is your daughters foot?

Ruth:  Hope that you are getting used to the med's it will get better.

Judy B.:  It sounds that you are very busy make sure you don't overdo things please say hi to John.  God bless sis.

Well our weather is beautiful and the sun is still very warm.  May the Lord be with each one on C.P. and Micheal I hope that you get lots of HUGS. <3

Jeanine  and Frank:  The Lord will be with you both and he will give you the strength that you need.  Love in Christ.  Gord. <3

Hi Gord!

Etta Sue, I didn't even know you could get a Paint Shop Pro magazine!!!  Enquiring minds want to know more about this.  I'd certainly make good use of it.

Hey Gord.  Glad you are able to get to the YMCA the exercise will do you both good.

The weather here is absolutely beautiful.  As one customer said "we are finally getting summer"!

Well bye for now and God bless you all.

Oh thanks a million Melody, needed that.

Thanks for the comments on the poem. Take care all. God bless.

Marilyn, I love my Magic Bullet.  I use it to make smoothies almost every night. (fat free milk, frozen fruit, sweetener)  Today I cooked some apples and put them in the Magic Bullet to make a small amount of apple sauce for Maycie.  Nita

Marilyn

Nita I use my Magic Bullet every day too, from grinding Flax seed, making finely chopped cheese, smoothies, making salsa and guacamole to mention just a few things.

All I have left to do as far as house cleaning goes is to vacuum the living and bedrooms, Got all the rest done today and also made some apple crisp, did 3 loads of laundry. It seems like I am busier than ever  since I am  not working the other job.

Well, I'm glad Marilyn beat me to the punch - that way, I can stay in the background as she leads the birthday song for you, Liz. :D
Seriously, I hope it has been really great and that you'll enjoy many wonderful events and much love and good health this year.

Also, I notice that ChevyGal had a birthday yesterday - if you're listening, friend, hope your birthday was great, too.

It's been really busy today. Grocery shopping. physical therapy, lunch with my daughter, a very short rest, then took daughter to pick up her vehicle from the repair shop, on to a haircut and finally found some gasoline.

We're also having a gasoline draught here in Nashville, Larry. Many stations are closed and long lines at the ones that do have a bit of product to sell.

Y'all have a great evening.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet

I was several pages behind on the posts, wow!  Good to see so many of them.

I cannot imagine never having a hug.  Summicron, if you were here, I would give you a big hug.  I've been told that I give good ones.  ;)  They say hugs are always the perfect fit, and are fully returnable.

I have been on the phone with the Mayo clinic again today, had to start again at square one, when I finally got to the right department, found out the doctor in charge of the NF trial is away all this week.  They promised to call Beth next week, as I will be away.

Ruth Ann, sorry about the gasoline drought there in Nashville.  I think a lot of things may get tight, in view of the massive government bail-outs happening.  So much greed and corruption and has been for years.  Sad.

I had lunch with my two youth friends today and they each made a yarn octopus.  Do any of you remember those, from the 1960s?  They had fun, and liked them.

Colin, that was a sweet and thoughtful poem.  Time is the thing that takes away a lot of the pain, plus the fact that we know Michael is now whole and sound, running, leaping and shouting for joy!  But we sorrow for those who feel the ache of his loss, and pray for their comfort.

Larry, glad your son's attack was just when there was help right there!  And I pray this will be the last one.  Darrel has four stents now, too, but is doing really well.  May your son also do as well.

I must get to bed, had a short night last night.  Hello to to rest of you, and I will try to keep up better the next few days.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZ!!  MAY GOD'S RICHEST BLESSINGS BE YOURS!!

Liz

Thanks for the lovely birthday greetings.  I had a very nice day.  Was sort of tired today, a day of rain!  So did not want to go out for dinner and we will do it another day.  The kids gave me (to share with Wendy) one of those robots that wash the floors.  I had thought about going 1/2's with Wendy, then forgot about it.  It will help her with the bathrooms and entrance as it hurts her so much to do them.  The hardwood is easy.  I have a large kitchen, entrance and also the laundry room, so my back will be blessed :)  Amanda gave me a nice card and took some photo's as I need a picture to send to my old roommate.

I'm glad that I took your advise, Larry.  Sent off a card the other day and got a reply this morning.  Seems both she and my other girlfriend were wondering how to find me......They kept in touch and both were living in the States....I had sort of vanished.  So that was a real nice birthday surprise and we will try to meet sometime in the future.  I must say, she is as lovely and elegant as ever. Sent me a picture of the two of them.  I had Amanda take a picture of me holding Squeek.  I need all the help possible....... ::)

Nice to see you back, Janet.  Will continue to pray about Beth. Also for the other folks here on CP.  Sad that our leaders won't stop their fighting and simply gather together and turn things over to God.  What a wonderful world we could have....

Pleasant Evening/Day and God Bless.

Liz

FROM THE FIELD OF SIN

Laughing wind it plays in delightful glee
With drifting leafs from off the tree
They dance with her in circles round
Then rest themselves upon the ground

Coloured gems alight with red and gold
Yellow and brown that branches hold
Twiggy fingers gnarled that must let go
And drop their jewels to ground below

Once green their dress that did not stay
Yet in richer colours they must decay
Leafy carpet thick on forest floor
Will rustle awhile and then be no more

The autumn mist dewdrops shall weep
As through the valley she will creep
For she knows well that death's around
Creeping silently by without a sound

Weep she does for a harvest coming
Gone now the days when bees were humming
Coloured wings of butterflies folded up at last
And all to come is the icy blast

Her dewdrops are like tears of God
Who returns all life to the sod
In spring He gave the seed to sow
Now in autumn fall a time to mow

A time to gather the harvest in
From fruitful field and field of sin
That which is gathered from the soil
Feeds only body and rewards our toil

But a golden sun turns to a silver moon
And a harvest of souls is coming soon
When a scythe will swing and death will call
And lives drift away like leafs in fall

Coloured gems they are but for awhile
Soon decaying away in forest pile
We who dress in sin's coloured attire
Swept up like them and ready for the fire

Our righteousness is false beauty you see
Decaying away like the leaves from the tree
Autumn winds whisper and speak in the ear
Are you ready for the reaper as he draws near?

Spring saw your birth and summer, life run
Autumn now warns, soon all will be done
The lull before the biting and bitter icy blast
And winter's cold shroud that soon now be cast

Beautiful days of autumn of golden leafs and red
Where mist of the morning creeps along the river bed
A harvest that is reaped and safely gathered in
Off the fruitful field and from the field of sin

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee.  Fall is in the air here as it was a bit cool this morning but a beautiful day.  However, our drought condition continues in our area.

Our son had to spend another night in the hospital as the night before he had an episode where he felt like he did before having the heart attack.  So the doctor felt they should keep him overnight and monitor him.  Pat spoke with him about 8:45 last evening and he was feeling good, had been up walking and had showered.  So we expect he will be released today and hopefully can get back to work in a day or so, probably Monday.

Our daughter was feeling better last evening.  She had been out yesterday to attend to some business and when she got home her foot was red and hurting.  She was to go to Grady this morning to get her insulin and was going to try to get in to see the foot doctor to have him check her foot.

Marilyn, I guess I have seen the Magic Bullet advertised on TV.  It does sound like a nice kitchen tool to have and one that doesn't take up a lot of space.

Liz, sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday.  I was happy to see you can contacted your long lost friend.

Jane, hope your day yesterday was focused on the joys related to those no longer with you.  Hope your yard work went well.

Colin, thanks for the two new poems.  You really have a talent.

Janet, I agree with you that the place to have a heart attack is when a cardiologist is in the room.  Glad you had some success with Mayos.

Ruth Ann, I see that you are finding out being retired still is a busy time.  However, the nice part is we don't usually have to hurry anymore to get these things done.

I have several things I want to work on today so better get started.  I think I get to stay home today and am looking forward to it.

Pat ~ The Paint Shop Pro Photo magazine has only three issues out.  It is published in the U.K. so probably won't be delivered in the mail so book stores will most likely be the only place to receive the magazine.  I may be wrong.  It is pricey, I think.  $14.99 at Borders Book Store.  The magazine website is www.officialpspp.com  They even have a gallery that you can register in and upload photos by clicking on 'Register' at their website.  Our guild has be talking about HDR photos but you need a software for it.  I got Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 and HDR is on it using jpeg.  Guild, you have to use RAW.  I have tried it but I am not satisfied with the results yet.  Here is a website of some HDR photos.  http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/03/10/35-fantastic-hdr-pictures/ Truly, if your camera took pictures like this, you would take it back or get it repaired but there is something about the images that I really like.

Sorry about all that but this is a photography website.

Today I am leaving with Ivalou around 11a.m. and we are going to Stone Creek restaurant to help one of our Euchre ladies celebrate her birthday.  A new restaurant to us but only about 8 miles away.

Wow Etta Sue those are sure some  awesome photos I like those images too. I think they are fantastic.

I have to go to the nail salon this morning and get a couple of nails repaired, Iam also going to vacuum the living and bedroom and dust then I  have tomorrow as a do nothing day. Over the weekend all I will have to do is cook, wash, dishes and eat, not in that order.  ;D

Al Where did you  make your appointment for the Massage Therapist? I have heard of that therapy, and in  some Tai Chi classes we have done  lymphatic stimulation exercises.

Jeannine

Good afternoon all,

Thank you for your prayers and words of comfort. Colin thank you again for the poems.

THE HOUSE IS EMPTY
The house is empty without your smile
And all we did to go the extra mile
Your love for life and happy face
Now replaced by an empty space

Slowly your things disappear
All the reminders you were here
Teddy bears, books, clothes and things
All the little stuff that helped you sing

With the speech valve your opinions you voiced
And in your laughter we greatly rejoiced
Now the house is full of silence
And is now deafening with your absence

All the things I thought were true
Were not what made you you
Material things they come and go
But it is your spirit that lives you know

How I miss your sweet smile and laughing eyes
And when someone left, oh how you would cry
You accepted everyone with unconditional love
So generously given by your Father above

You never had to learn of amazing grace
Because He gave you all you needed to run this race
He gave you His heart of purest gold
And when He made you, He broke the mold

You were my teacher, one of the best
You taught me patience and when to rest
You spoke to my heart, yet never spoke a word
And everything we shared, in God was anchored

You touched so many lives with your life
Now God has called you home from the strife
Now you can walk, talk, run and sing
Sharing it all with God, everything

He gave you to us for so short a time
But what we shared will last a lifetime
And even though you are now home in heaven
Your life will still touch others, of that there is no question

Jeannine Faith

Michael will never be forgotten and he will always be loved! The grief and sorrow are still so fresh!
May you all have a God filled and blessed day!
Jeannine

Wow!  That is an interesting video, Janet.  My GD and her friends are always on the cell phones.  Wendy and I are not in danger because we either forget to turn them on or can't hear them ring   Increased the sound on mine to max and must remember to put it on the side of my good ear when in my pocket....

Tomorrow my daughter goes for her X-Ray.  The only reason she got in is because of a friend in high places.  Seems that dept. has been closed for updating and only just reopened.  Also, seems the dr. made a huge mistake and should have known that a form was needed.  Can only believe that God has taken a hand in things or she would have waited until weeks more had passed.  In the good old days, one could look for a better dr.  Now we are lucky to even have one!

Lovely poem, Colin.  I am so glad that you post them for all of us to enjoy.

Interesting site, Etta Sue.  I will go back and check it out more carefully later.  Saw the most perfect chance for a picture yest. and my darn camera is not good enough to catch distant pictures.  A little squirrel was sitting on top of the small cherry tree (likes the birds peanut food) and had it's tail over it's head to protect from the rain.  Sat there for ages.....new kind of umbrella.

The Rufus hummers are gone and the Anna's have come back.  Three real cuties.  It is quite something to get them in the garden.  They will be here all winter and provide much pleasure for my daughter.  The feeder is by the kitchen window.

Time to go.  I am going to spend the morning playing in acrylic paints, trying to learn something.  Now that would be a wonder :o

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Whew! I'm relieved.

My son pointed me to Snopes.com when I called him to my monitor to see the popcorn video. Y'all will want to read this. It first talks about cooking eggs with cell phones and then how the supposition has been transferred to other foods including popcorn. Even shows some of the pictures in the video we've viewed.

http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp

Janet, thanks for bringing this up. I do believe there's not a lot of good to our health by using the cell phone too much, but I carry one with me all the time because of my propensity to fall.

Shelby and I walked past 8 1/2 houses on our street, which translates to about 1700 or 1800 feet round trip. It was funny, when the dog got hot and tired, she simply laid down in the dry grass and wriggled around on her back. She did that 4 times before I could get her to walk back home with me. Ummmm - maybe she's older'n I am!  :P

Now, it's time to clean the pantry - yikes, I dread THAT job!

Y'all have a good afternoon.

hey ya'll
I have come to ask prayer for my aunt. her husband passed away yesterday and the family that he had (his kids from another marriage) are being real jerks to her. Calling her names telling her she never really loved him etc. its making it hard on her and she is goin through a lot with it. Please pray for her, name is Gwen. thank you

Thanks, Ruth Ann, for that Snopes article.  I note that we NEVER place our brains between TWO cell phones, that we never leave them on and transmitting for over an hour, and that moble phones of the slightly older variety emitted MUCH more power than the newer ones, and that we generally use only one at a time.  In other words, thankfully, the whole so-called danger is nothing but a hoax.  I'm glad that's settled!

Sarah - I pray our Father to free Gwen of this.  I pray that our Father will bring those causing it to repentance and faith, and to confession.  We sure can see the effects of the Fall, can we not?

pitbullangel

I, along with my husband and pastors at our church got refueled at a pastor's conference the past few days. got to hear from pastors all over, (one man came all the way from London! ) about how God is working through people. it was just great to get away into the woods and reconnect with what's important. the importance of building up our youth, taking an interest in the next generation was talked about a lot during the three days. as well as the importance of remembering the ministries we do are not ours. they're God's. they belong to Him. and that Jesus must always be between us and the ministry. never putting it before Him. we should do things TO the Lord, not For the Lord. many people get too caught up in doing things for the Lord they forget to BE for the Lord. overall the whole event was a great encouragement and exorting experience. a story one pastor shared was how he was always so busy and his child was dirty and so he gave him a quick bath, and usually the child would jumped out once the bath was over and run all over, but this time, when his father held out the towel ready to catch him, his son instead jumped right into his father's arms, tucking his head into his father's neck and just holding on tight for a long time. long enough that he sat down on the bathroom floor forgetting all else and the child starting rocking and that's when he heard God speak to him, saying "this is what I want from you. this is all I ask for. to be with me in this intimate way."

Janet

Ruth Ann, I am so  :-[ :-[ :-[.  I never even thought to check on Snopes about that!  I am so sorry, everybody.  Please forgive me.  I know that my cell phone gets quite hot in one spot, when it touches the side of my face, it makes me wonder what it might do to those who use them for hours every day.

Sarah, I'm sorry about your aunt.  How painful for that family to treat her so shabbily.  I will pray for Gwen.

Liz, glad Wendy finally got her X-ray appointment.  I am so thankful we still have the freedom to choose our own doctors here.

I haven't accomplished much today, sort of draggy feeling for some reason.  But tomorrow is a brand new day!

Carol

You asked for more posts - ask and you shall receive.

We are back from a round-trip to Cheyenne, Wyoming that passes through the city of Denver and it has to be about 180 miles in total.  Two more Thursdays to go.  Don had a retina scan and it showed that there is nothing happening to endanger his eyes from the pre-diabetic diagnosis he received a couple of months ago.  His numbers fluctuate between 123 down to 75 at times.  Twice per week check.  He is totally exhausted and taking a nap in the bedroom right now - I drove back.

Don's high-school friends only live 15 min. away and they came for a few pleasant hours yesterday - we sat on the back porch.  We need to take time to invite others over instead of this all-consuming drive to fix things on the house.

Larry:  Glad to read the good news on your son's health care.  Two stents - how young is he?

Tomorrow begins the weekend of hockey tournament here.  Daughter and two children will be whipping in and out of the house driving to the rink at the Air Force Academy - I want to see this too but 5 games will be too much for me.  How these youngsters keep up the pace, I will never know.  We look forward to the hugs & kisses - even the 13 year-old loves to hug.  So far.

Pat:  I looked at your first site and gee, you look exactly the same!!!

Summicron:  Nice to see your face too!

Janet:  Thinking of you.

We have been invited to join the church we are visiting however, we will most likely join it but do want to go to several others as well.

I found the breadmaker in the very last box we opened - it was driving me crazy.  Bought fresh yeast and it is good to go tomorrow for dinnertime.

Praying for this nation - what a pickle we are in at this time.  Praying that our children won't have the burdens of mistakes made by greed and ignorance.  Praying for those who are hungry, losing their jobs and homes.

Hello Canada!
Greetings to Ireland!!!!

Good day   I am getting a little dizzy
Today I was berry picking and got me some good partridge berries. Yummy.
Sarah Will pray for your aunt.
pitbullangel It sounds like you had a refreshing time at that conference. I was able to attend a womans ministries retreat this weekend also and it was: woman of the word and woman of worship.

Enjoyed that poem Colin.
Summicron -good to see you posting
Hello carol.

Summicron

You know I posted a rather long acount of a run over too Burnley hospital for Margery to have a cardiology test before she has a minor bowel op, I also posted a pic along with it of her sat on the settee at her grandaughters home, looking after their two dogs, Riley a Bichons Friese, sat on the top of the settee, Margery's dog, and Skye a mongrel bitch, snugged on the settee itself, Jennifers bow wow, but when I finally posted, the text vanished, and all that was left was her photo.
