JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Pat:   I can remember whan your mother took things out of that big freezer and they had been there 5 years and when defrosted they were so good.  That was peaches I think from your own peach tree.  Love ya. SIS.

That's so true, Gord.

When we were clearing out the house after Dad died, we found lots in that freezer that were still able to be used.   I'm wanting to get my huge one empty and get it thrown out as it's an energy guzzler since I've had it since 1967!!!

I'd like to get a new one (upright).

Its a beautiful sunny day here today and I am just loading the washing machine.
Have to go out to a prayer meeting in a few minutes.
Turkey wings in the oven . So I am trying to juggle a few things here right now.

SNOW.  Hey folks don't you know that is a four letter word????

I am late getting going today.  Rough morning.  I lost something at home on monday and have spent the rest of the week looking for it.   Well 12:30 last night I found the item and was finally able to rest.  Reminds me of the verse "Seek and you will find."

Pat I will see you on Friday.  Heading to Kitchener with Dana.

Got to run

God Bless all

Marilyn

Good morning It is cold here this morning. It is colder now than it was at 5:30 when I went to Curves. But at least the sun is out.

Nothing much planned for today. Will walk the dogs later when it warms up some. Maybe I will so some vacuuming or something that will get me out of this chair. I m not like the scale lately so I need to  keep moving  more, eating less bread and sweets.

Marilyn I understand cold.... I wish I could take Al up on his invitation to live in CA to get away from the cold.  I probably would head for Garden Grove.

Marilyn

It would be warmer there than here this morning Judy. It's supposed to be 63° this afternoon. Now that is nice weather. I would rather be cold and layer up on the clothing that to be too hot I it was in the desert.

Give me the heat any day.  I will never complain about the heat, but the cold goes right through my bones and I find that hard.  It will be a warm -1 C here today that is about 30F for our southern folks.

Etta Sue

If you judge a good time by the talking and laughter, everyone had a good time yesterday!  They were all here by 1pm and didn't leave until 4:40pm.  I had all the dishes done, everything put up and away by 5:50pm.  Great time....but glad it is over.

Now I want to crochet an afghan out of scraps for a Christmas present.  I put all the scraps out on the floor, organize the colors and crochet.  My house will be a mess until it is done....hope the kitties co-operate and not move the yarn around too much!!

Tomorrow is a fasting blood test at 9a.m.  We are trying to go out to eat somewhere for my SIL's birthday (Nov 17) but they are leaving for Florida Friday, I think.  And Friday afternoon, I have a furnace/A/C man coming to clean the furnace and check the A/C.  Then nothing until election day!!!!

Nice and sunny in Indiana but cold...40 degrees.  Windy, too.  But the solar heat is running and the electric fireplace so it is nice and cozy in here.  Did I say I was so relaxed that I didn't get up until 9:50am this morning and only then because the phone rang????

Carol

We came home again and I am baking two pans of Kringle.  One is for the dessert tonight  - the real dinner club is tonight.  Remember, I walked up the street last week with dessert and it was the wrong week  :-\

We just had an email showing the picture of a darling Korean 5-month-old girl being adopted by good friend's daughter & SIL in Washington.  Everyone is so happy - she is a beautiful, serene looking child.  Child of God!

We went to a school band and orchestra concert last night - WOW is all I can say.  The kids have improved so much - our grandson plays First Seat trumpet - he really does a lot of practice and now they have a very accomplished band teacher.  Don did the same so many years ago,  with the same old  trumpet so it is so much fun watching them.

Larry:  Good for you for getting that test over.

JudyB:  It sounds like you need to wear long underwear in the house.  We have lived in houses like that and I know the chill seems to go right through your bones.  Even the furniture seems cold.

Etta Sue
:  I love the animal stories.   I was just going to post and here you are - your scrap yarn crocheting sounds interesting - very different.  I just bought two skeins of lightweight yard to make a knit scarf - am all thumbs & wish someone could come and help me.  Glad your day yesterday went well - of course it would, you are so friendly.

shutterbugmom

It's a little chilly here this morning, too, but should warm up to about 69 or so.  I hope it warms up some...we're suppose to go to my friend's son's football game late this afternoon.

I grew up in So Cal and my grandparents lived in Garden Grove, so we were there a lot.  I much prefer the four seasons here in Idaho to the generally good weather year-round and smog of Socal.  Maybe when I'm older I'll long for the warmer, more predictable weather of California again.  We will see.

Food, fun and fellowship are planned for this Friday night at my mom's.  Should be fun.  We don't celebrate holloween, but our church usually does some harvest festival in October or November and my mom always passes out candy on Holloween so she can also pass out Christian tracks.  We do that, too, if we are home.

I've been busy uploading images to my new website.  I just wasn't happy with the quality of prints from my other site's fulfillment center.  This one's great!  They offer framing, too.  Framed prints make great Christmas gifts! (hint hint...shameless, I know) LOL

I was sick all last week and every time I think I'm better, I go into the field to do some shooting and come home exhausted and feeling poorly again.  Never have gotten my energy back, yet.  Frustrating.

Not much else going on, just school.  I can't believe my oldest daughter's graduating this year.  Yesterday, when I was in the shower, they made a short film.  It's called "iSticky", it's one of their ongoing characters called Sticky Frog, dancing around to his ipod music.  It's pretty cute, but maybe not unless you're familiar with the character.  Here's the link, if you want to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dG1DHtzCHU

Well, better go grade some papers now...you all have a Fantastic Day!

Pat

Etta Sue, I'm interested in knowing more about your afghan

What kind of yarn are you using and do you have a pattern in mind?  The reason I'm asking is that I have so much yarn in my basement that I must either use or get rid of as I do this horrendous job of decluttering.

I'd love it if you even wrote me about it.

Pat I was thinking about you as I read their talk about crocheting!

Pat

Yes!

Since taking the orange juice and cod liver oil for the past year, I think I could do some crochet work now.  ;)

Hi everyone.  I got a fine report from my test this morning with no problems noted and don't have to repeat it for 10 years.  Glad it is over but it wasn't bad.  They put me to sleep so when I woke up it was over.

It is chilly here again today but nice and sunny.

Pat

Whewwww...  Glad that's over with, Larry.

I'm just waiting to find out if I have to go through it.

I am late today.  I had to take Dexter over to Heather's this morning.  On top of that Kassie was slow this morning.  Dexter is our rottweiller, and he is not well.  He has a lump the size of a California grapefruit on his hip.  I am not doing the vet thing because of the $$$$.  If it is what I think, he won't be with us much longer.  To those of you who remember Jake, he looks like him and has his personality.  BUT I didn't get as attached to him as I did Jake.

It is a beautiful morning this morning.  Cold but crisp and sunny.  Just a little frost on the windows not a heavy icing like we have been having.

Must run, God bless

JudyB

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I see there are only a couple or so of postings since I posted yesterday afternoon.  It is another crisp and sunny day here in the south but suppose to get up into the 60s today.

This morning after coffee at Waffle House (McDonald's didn't get open according to their original plan) we went walking at the church gym here in our town.  They have a preschool there and today the little kids came in their costumes and were so cute.  We really enjoyed seeing these little ones.

I stopped at the Post Office and mailed off the box to a soldier in Iraq that our choir put together.  We had 15 boxes ready last evening and there is enough stuff to have two more filled.  There is a flat rate to mail these boxes and have to have a customs form filled out and was attached a the Post Office.

I don't have anything else on the schedule where I expect to leave the house.  I want to finish reading a book I am reading and have several projects to take care of here on the computer, as well as get the bills organized to be paid on the 1st of the month.

Marilyn

Good Morning everyone, not much new here yet this morning, it is almost a do nothing day. I am going to work shortly then getting my nails done, back home after that and walk the dogs this afternoon, I may decide to vacuum the house  too. Laundry tomorrow morning, to get the last of it over with before Keith arrives.
I am going to   cook the last quarter turkey in the crockpot tomorrow too.

Sarah:  How sad for everyone when a child doesn't get the chance to grow up.

Pat:  I know Cod Liver Oil is good for joints, have not heard that about orange juice. Good luck with that de-cluttering.  Just remember that you will have a lot less "so-called free time" when you move into your new house.  It seems like the day fills here for us so quickly just when we think we might have "free time".  I hope that you get everything moved before the snow hits.

Don's knee suddenly gave out on him several times yesterday so when we came home this morning, I found an old stretchable knee support which I had used and this seems to be helpful.  We just spent a long time cleaning the fireplace glass - am sure these people before never took it apart - they didn't do anything.

A grand time at dinner group last night.  We are invited to another church for a concert/sermon the night before Thanksgiving.  My turn to host the dinner next month.  We sure have enjoyed visiting a lot of churches in the area.

As for my knitting a scarf, I took the easy way and am only knitting each short row and it is a bumpy pattern that way.  Onl 14 stitches across - it is looking OK so far.

Etta Sue:  Have you started your crocheting?

Etta Sue

Yes, I have started my 'Afghan of Many Colors'.  My favorite pattern.  Pat, I sent you an email.  My living room floor is full of yarn.  I separate colors into piles.  Then each pile is sorted light to dark.  I start with a light color, a round each and change colors to the next lightest shade.  When done with one color, I start the lightest color of the next color.  If I run out of yarn on a round, I change to the next lightest shade and fasten off at the end of the round.

You can make it as small or as large as you want and I like it because there is no putting together at the end.  The last round is done!  Great for scrap yarn!!!  I have probably made 15 afghans of this pattern...makes a beautiful afghan all one color also!  If anyone wants the pattern, email me.

I got my blood test this morning and ate at Bob Evan's.  Then Ivalou needed something at Best Buy.

Then we went to AAA.  I am in NEED of getting away from these four walls.  So I said I was taking a map of Indiana, shutting my eyes, and pointing on the map.  That's where were are going.  I told the AAA agent this and he opened a map, turned it around and I pointed.  So Ivalou and I plan to go to Greensburg, IN, next Wednesday, Thursday and come home Friday.  I said we need a motel with a heated pool and internet.  They have two motels there with that.  Other than a tree growing at the top of the courthouse, nothing much else is at Greensburg, IN!

Now I am home for the day.  Cool today.  Only 26° when I got up and took the trash out.  But warmer now.  49° and sunny now.

:coffee: good day. Its a beautiful sunny day here today and about 60 degrees. Not bad for this time of year around here.
I was able to get in a good walk and took a few pictures.
Something seems to have gone wrong and I can't get them transferred unto my computer.
Oh well I am sure I will figure it out sometime ;D

Melody - absolutely every time I see one of your posts, the DJ in my head plays the following song.  So there!  Now you listen to it!  It's a good thing, but it happens every time.

In My Heart There Rings a Melody
(Click to hear music)

"You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.  You show that you are a lttter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

Words & Music: Elton M. Roth.

I have a song that Jesus give me,
It was sent from heav'n above;
There never was a sweeter melody,
'Tis a melody of love.

Refrain

In my heart there rings a melody,
There rings a melody with heaven's harmony;
In my heart there rings a melody;
There rings a melody of love.

I love the Christ who died on Calv'ry,
For He washed my sins away;
He put within my heart a melody,
And I know it's there to stay.

Refrain

'Twill be my endless theme in glory,
Melody - absolutely every time I see one of your posts, it sets off the DJ in my head.  The song he plays in my head is as follows:

With the angels I will sing;
'Twill be a song with glorious harmony,
When the courts of heaven ring.

Refrain

melody

Al I have listen to that song and I like it to :)

[quote With the angels I will sing;
'Twill be a song with glorious harmony,
When the courts of heaven ring.
][/quote]

AL ----I hope this part is true because down here I love to sing but I can't carry a tune they tell me ;D
So lets hope up there I can sing with the heavenly choir
But in my heart there rings a melody all the time

Al Moak

Melody, it wouldn't surprise me if, upon arriving there, He would impart to you His own singing voice!

Marilyn

The word says to make a joyful noise, I think to to God all of our "joyful" noise is music to His ears. So sing on Melody, keep on singing praises unto the Lord for it is a sweet sound to him.

Melody......that is the song I was trying to tell you about when I wrote my poem with Melody in the title and like Al, I hear it everytime I see your name. The teacher made me mime to the words of songs at school so you can guess how I sing! Sure didn't the same Lord that gave voices to larks and nightingales gave voices to frogs and crows that they may sing as well so Melody, you and I will keep singing our hearts out!  <3
