Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

G-g-good M-m-morning.... It's c-c-cold here!   Marilyn, it still hasn't reached 30° here!   The temp on my porch was 25° when I looked at 8 a.m.

I'm going to be doing just about nothing today.  I'll probably get at a movie or two on the DVD.  My VCR is dead according to my son-in-law, so that takes care of a bunch of stuff that I can no longer watch.  Unless, as my daughter suggested, I look on Craig's List for a new one.   :-\

For sure, I want to wish Ruthie a

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

before I leave.  I'll be back --- eventually.   :hello:

Hi everyone.  Am writing on my iPod Touch while resting and watching college basketball and football.

We had a two hour choir practice this morning with the orchestra that will accompany us tomorrow nights.  I enjoyed every minute of it but we were standing most of the two hours and it left me exhausted. I will recover by morning and am really looking forward to tomorrow night.

While I wa st choir this morning Pat drove down to Stacey's and brought her out to the house for the weekend and so she can attend the Cantata tomorrow evening.  Pat and she plan to put up our Christmas decorations.  Pat has trimmed these down to one plastic box from several boxes.  They also plan on making ham salad from a ham Pat baked yesterday.

Etta Sue, suggestion when your tv area is cool use your laptop and you can watch many programs on the network websites or sites like Hulu.

Not going to try to make individual comments as am using one finger to type and it is a bit slow.  However have read all the postings and enjoyed the graphics.

Happy Birthday Ruthie.

:)   Good evening to all.  Just a very short post.  Noreen and I have been busy with the grandkids and I don't know where all the time seems to go.  I have gone over the posts and do not have time to comment tonight but will remember all in prayer.

Al:  Glad to here that you are home and I do hope that you are feeling better today.

May you all have a wonderful day in the Lord's house tomorrow  and God Bless.   Gord and Noreen <3 :cp

Ruthie:   Happy belated Birthday. :hb3:

Jane ~ I got a VHS/DVD player at WalMart for $70.  Brand new.  Not someone elses problem. I love it and only one unit.

Larry ~ I have never heard of Hulu.  I must check that out.

The extra throw rug in the bathroom helped last night!  Yea!

I got busy yesterday and dusted, swept and moved the furniture around in the living room.  The way I had it blocked what heat was coming from the fireplace.  I like it this way but I like changes also.  Now I am sitting directly in front of the TV and can use the laptop in the recliner as well.

Kitty and I went swimming.  30 laps of swimming and 4 of walking.  Kitty did 32 of swimming and 6 of walking.  I think 33 is half a mile!!  Then we went shopping at Hobby Lobby, Office Depot, Barnes and Noble and ate at Chili's.  At Barnes and Noble I found the tea that my Secret Sister got me last year.  It is African Autumn by Harney and Sons.  Wonderful tea!  I got Peppermint also.  AND IF YOU WANT A CD OF WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, SOOTHING MUSIC GET SUSAN BOYLE'S BRAND NEW CD!!!!  I guarantee you will love it and it gives you goose bumps.  Her voice is like an angel.  Remember she came in second in Englands Got Talent Show.  A 50ish single lady.  Beautiful voice.

Well, that's my suggestion for a gift for yourself for Christmas!!

I am ready for church.  It seems so weird to not have Ivalou next door.  I have thought of her a thousand times wondering how she is doing.  Just hope they bring her home early enough to go to the Christmas Cantata at church this evening.  She said she wanted to go to it.  And yes, it is great to get a second wind on the weekends.  Just not long enough.  But I am thinking that I will be home at night's soon.

Hi everyone.  I am ready for church but it will be about an hour before we leave.  Today is the lady's craft sale at church to raise funds for the senior ministry.  This is an annual event and the ladies make Christmas type decorations, gifts, and have a bake sale each year at this time.  It is not open to the public.

Today will be a long service since it is Communion Sunday and following the service there is a congregational meeting to elect elders and deacons.  Then this evening we have the congregational dinner and then the Christmas Cantata.

I spent all afternoon and evening resting and watching the games and feel revived again this morning.

Etta Sue, glad you are enjoying your time off this weekend and were able to do some things with your friend.

Gord, it does seem that time flies by.  Glad you can be with your grandchildren.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day as we express our gratitude to God our many blessings.

Good morning!  It is another Lord's day, another opportunity to worship Him and thank Him for who He is and what He has done.  Thank you, God.

We are ready for church and have just a few minutes before time to leave.  I am listening to David Jeremiah just now.

We had a lovely evening yesterday.  We drove to Hugoton, arriving just in time to walk down Main Street with the sixth graders, singing carols.  My goodness, there is such a disparity of sizes in kids that age!  Some look like little kids and some look like adults already.  It never ceases to amaze me.

After the singing we went to Diane's, where she had a nice meal ready and waiting.  How she gets so much done and still works long days is really something.  Then we went to watch The Nutcracker.  Diane had set up a small Christmas tree on the entrance table, all decorated with things from The Nutcracker; also had four nutcrackers, about two feet tall setting there.  She also supplied a nine foot Christmas tree and all the decorations for it, for the stage set.  No wonder there was a special thank you to her family in the program!

Anyway.....our Abby did a wonderful job dancing.  She had three pretty big parts this time; as one of two Oriental dancers, as one of the Dew Drops, and in a group number with older girls.  All of these parts were en pointe, and she had really come a long way since her first performance en pointe last year!  She is the only sixth grader who dances on her toes, and one of only three not yet in high school.  One little downside, when she did the splits at the end of the Oriental dance, she pulled a muscle, and was hurting pretty bad when we left.  I helped her make a heat pack with a sock full of rice to put on it.  They are performing again this afternoon, so hope she will be fully recovered by then.

Today is full, too.  Sunday school and church, this afternoon is the Parade of homes and reception at the museum, tonight Shiloh is singing at the Country View Baptist Church.  We will pick up our friend Maxine and take her to that.  She hasn't been getting out much lately.

Time to go, so see you later!

Good Morning from a very chilly Oregon Coast!

Etta Sue, I will check that out (one of these days) John says the VCR I have is a "mono" and I don't know what that means, but he said "it's dead."  :-\  Oh, well ......  I gave him the converter box for DTV too, because it only "helps" me get one station and I can get 3-4 without it!  They can use it on their TV in CA, hopefully, because they don't have the "interference" I do ... tall trees, near the ocean, distance from the TV towers, etc......

I did get myself an early Christmas gift yesterday

I bought Susan Boyle's CD as well as Andrae Bocelli's first ever Christmas CD. And I love them both!  When Joy was here, she slipped some $$$ bills into my pocket and said "Merry Christmas" ..... that's a good daughter.  :)

I found a box of cookie cutters up on the top shelf of the pantry; I think I will get that box down and see what is in there. My family may be getting cookies, candy and banana bread for Christmas since I can't afford to buy any gifts.

Keith already gave me my Christmas gift of $200. and I  bought myself a pr of tennis shoes, I need to renew my drivers license and put gas in my car for the trip to Blue Lake for Christmas. So it is pretty well already spent. I  restocked my vitamins ($39.) and ordered bags for my Oreck Vacuum cleaner. (Can't buy them in the store.) That was another $22. right there.

I made some fudge this morning so I can have some of my favorite comfort food, I love chocolate.

Jane  we can't even get high speed internet from Verizon because of where  we are located. We do have DSL but not the high speed one. Verizon tried to get me to order the dish network for the TV but I told them there are too many trees around her to get a clear view of the southern sky. Don't want the Satellite dish any way. We don't watch that many channels, kinda set in our ways we are..

This morning, the sermon was on "Do You See What I See" - the JOY of Christmas, really the joy in life.  Interesting about the division between churches regarding music in history.  Chanting versus hymns.  I can say that I do enjoy both but love some of the great hymns.  Snowing hard this AM and we had about 8 inches of snow - 4 more days of this off an on.

I finished writing on Christmas notes and now will look at recipes for Christmas Eve.  This is always exciting.  Had to stop and take a five-minute nap over all the excitement!  We are both struggling with Don's hearing problem over music because music was such a huge part of his life.  I see concerts where we would be going and then I see a CD or t.v. program - this morning, the piano and flute was awful for him.  We continue to fight having depression over this - now I have to stop talking about it.

Broncos won over Kansas City!  About time!  Sorry Janet.

Janet

Carol,   :'( ....Actually, I really don't care which team wins.  That shows what a dyed-in-the-wool football fan I'm not.   :)  I'm sorry about Don's hearing, and so in hopes it gets better, or that you can find something to help him.  For a music lover, that is just such an ordeal.

Marilyn, those edible gifts sound good.  I love fudge, too, but am really going to try to curb my cravings this season.  We will see how successful I am at that.  I used to make Aunt Bill's brown candy every Christmas, but haven't made it for years now.  It's SO good, though.

Pat and I enjoyed the Parade of Homes, now have about an hour to rest before going to hear Shiloh (group) sing.

Here we are at the beginning of a new week again!  I have dusted, wiped down the counters, washed the dishes, and made cinnamon strudel and lemon meringue pies, (whew!)  So come on in, sit down, pour yourself a cup of fresh coffee, tea or cappaccino, and visit a while.
