Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

I was here earlier, but ran out of time before I could post.  So I am back.

It was up into the 50s here today, with some wind.  Eastern Kansas was much colder.  We are in for dirt storms later if we don't get some significant moisture pretty soon.

Etta Sue, The Foreigner is one of my favorite plays, hilarious!

Today was busy.  Exercise, home to shower and change, then to the center for lunch, back home for a bit, then to get toenails clipped; then to care home for Ladies Tea.  They had Show and Tell, and Mom wanted me to bring a beautiful crazy quilt robe she made years ago, tell about it and model it; and I found some cards Beth had made while she could still use her hands; also, she wanted to show the scrapbook I made for her of her journey through the valley of the shadow of death.  (When she was in the hospital for 8 weeks last year.)  Also I had gotten a book Beth wanted, so I read her a chapter from it; then Mom wanted to talk to me about something.....so it was almost 5:30 when I got home.

Now supper is ready, so I better go eat!

Yes that could be Al. A bad battery could cause the computer to loose the CMOS settings but most of the time a weak battery will cause the clock to loose time but I don't think it would be by the hour, maybe a few minutes a day or week. If it is set to the wrong time zone everytime it re-syncs it would change the time to the time zone that it is set for.

Check the time zone first Judy.

It could be other problems but you have to start somewhere.

So much fun with the bantering back and forth. :)

I'm a little behind the geese, but have decided to "fly south" for a few days. Then, maybe I can lead the charge for those birds to head back north, thus shortening these long wintry days.

Jeanne Ruth Ann may not be able to find any warmth down south. I think everything froze as far south as Florida. But then again the cold we are having is probably bikini weather for you.

Don, at my age (and current shape) I'm not really part of the bikini crowd.  ;D But those would be almost balmy temperatures.

Maybe 2 gremlins...Elizabeth and Kassie?   Whoever mentioned time zone was right on.  I was on the same time zone as Al....  Say Al how did you do that without taking me back with you?

Exam stress is on Kassie. Teachers are cramming to get the entire course covered and the stress of this is transfired to the students. She is now cutting her eating so her tummy stays settled.  The teachers know to let her out of class with little notice.  She cannot afford this weight loss.  So frustrating and we have 14 school days to go.

I am listening to the news on Haiti   This is so sad.

I am off for now.  God bless

How about a chuckle to start the day...

Dangerous Cargo

Our Supply Clerk at the factory where I work, discovered a box that was left on the loading dock with this warning printed on it: DANGER DO NOT TOUCH!

Management was called and all employees were told to stay clear of the box until it could be analyzed.

When the foreman arrived, he donned gloves and safety glasses, and then, very carefully opened the box. Inside were 25 signs that read: DANGER! DO NOT TOUCH!

*Thanks to Pastor Tim for this joke!*

Judy, only 14 more school days?  Surely the term isn't over that soon, is it?  Sad to see one so young getting stressed out over things; not at all good for her health.

We are up earleir than usual this morning.  After Darrel goes to the chiropractor and to the hospital to get his IV removed after the last dose of med; and gets some equipment in the mail to be repaired (whew!) we are going to Garden City.  He wants to get the new version of Turbo Tax so he can start on our taxes.  We don't have a store here that sells it.

I will be going to exercise again today.  It's good for me!

Ruth Ann, I'm glad your wings are ready for you to fly South!  And if you don't find any warm weather there, come get some of ours!

Good one, Jeanne.  Thanks!  :)

'The Foreigner' was hilarious.  The lead role was played by Jeff Stockberger.  He has been in several plays at B&B.  When you look at him, you laugh/smile.  He will do about anything to get a laugh out of you.  His facial expressions alone will cause you to laugh.  So this role was perfect for him...he doesn't have to say a word to get a hilarious laugh out of everyone.

And it was soooo good to see Ivalou there.  There are several steps into the building but there is a drive that you can let people out right at the door so I did that for Ivalou.  The dinner theater is tiered.  So we had to go up a tier and then down two tiers to get our food from the buffet.  She handled that fine.  Then our waiter carried her plates back to the table for her.  It was joyful to hear her laugh during the play.  Then we kind of hung out when it was over so she wouldn't get pushed by the crowd...that was her main fear...someone pushing her and her lose her balance.  I got the car and picked her up right at the door.  She didn't even take her cane with her!!

Now for the weather to straighten up and she can walk over here to see me!!

Today is her first out-patient rehab and at 3pm is Euchre.

I woke up to a hoar frost on everything.  Beautiful.  I should have known it would be like that...we drove in fog coming home last night.

Today is the 23rd anniversary of my Dad being killed in an auto accident on Mom and Dad's 53rd Wedding Anniversary.  Jan 13 was also my Grandmother's birthday.  A happy reminder day and a sad reminder day for my family!

Have a great day!!!

Etta Sue, I'm so glad you enjoyed the evening, and that's wonderful news that Ivalou had a successful and pleasant outing.  She does really seem to be making fantastic progress.  Praise the Lord.

Hello everyone!

I am just popping in to say "hello" and let you know a little of what's going on with me, lately.  I'm doing pretty well, although my eye symptoms have returned and that is quite frustrating.  It's especially hard after my month of clear eyesight.  God works in mysterious ways and I'm just trying to be thankful for the time I had clear eyesight and not dwell on the why it didn't last.  I know God knows what he's doing.  I am still praying for permanant healing and I my God is more than able, if it is His will to do so.

I'm offering a FREE download of digital wallpaper/background for your computer.  This image will only be available for a limited time, so don't wait!  Get it today!  http://www.shekinahphotography.com/p884590023 (I hope it's okay to offer that here.  If not, please feel free to take it out of my post.)

I'm still racking my brain and straining my eyes trying to choose my four best images of 2009 to enter in the current challenge.  A difficult task, indeed.  I did get an image on the cover of the Golden Eagle Audubon Society January newsletter, recently...http://www.goldeneagleaudubon.org/newsletter-pdfs/nl10/geas1001.pdf

Praying for Haiti today and saddened by the death and destruction caused by the earthquake...

Take care, everyone!

Kathleen, I am so sorry you are still/again having problems with your eyes.  I am praying the Lord will touch them with His healing hand if it be His will.  And that He will give you comfort, whatever His answer may be.  <3

Dear all, got a bit chaotic yesterday and today, so I didn't post anything  :-\

Marilyn, my mom was promoted to glory 18 months ago - she's out of her pain now; praise the Lord!!!  I am enjoying my job so far, but I need to do two things: 1. get more organized and 2. find a wife.  If anyone knows where one is going drop me a line  ;)

BTW, why is Jeanne wearing a bikini?  Some funny things going on on C.P. lately  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the advice about the problem I was having with the forum.  I'll start hitting the preview button and see if it works .

Janet, What you said about the lack of men in the caring field is very true.  There are so few that the only uniform they had was a tee-shirt.  They said that I must wear the tee-shirt at all times to show the company logo - it is sub-zero temperatures at the moment and I am wearing a tee-shirt - even with a coat over it I am still freezing  :uglystupid:

Etta Sue thanks for the explanation on the theatre and card game.  They both sound great fun.

Must get to bed now.

God bless all and have a great night.

Anthony.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  The day has whizzed by and have a busy evening ahead with choir practice.  This morning after coffee I went to the grocery for a few items and then on to Bible study with our pastor.  Today's study was of Psalms 106.  I then stopped at the bank and when I got home it was time for lunch.  I did a little web work for the upcoming Senior Games and then took a nap.  Not very exciting but day but a busy one.

Anthony, could you wear the t-shirt on top of warm clothing.  I would freeze with just a t-shirt this time of the year.  Hope you like your new job as sure there is a demand for men in this field.

Kathleen, sorry to hear of the return of your eye condition.  Thanks for the screensaver offer.

Etta Sue, it has been years since we had access to dinner theater.  We used to really enjoy attending the performances and the meals were always good.  Glad Ivalou is making so much progress.

Janet, I would have been willing to share some of the rain we have had this past year and we have more forecast for the weekend.  I will be out-of-town on Saturday and most of Sunday so should be inside most of the time.  However, this is a new place for this meeting so don't know whether we will had access to the meeting rooms from the motel where we are staying.  At the motel where we have been having this meeting it was a stand-alone building for the convention center.

Judy, I know many students suffer from test stress.  I was fortunate as always enjoyed taking tests as it was a change from the regular classroom routine.  Glad you were able to get your computer time problem solved with the good help of folks here.

Carol, it sounds like you will have to replace your sugar supply soon with all of the dessert baking.

JudyB

Janet the semester is over on the 29th.

I have been on and off the news of Haiti.  I can't watch the constant coverage.  It is just too hard.

I am off to bed. I have a book that was given to the girls that I want to read before they do.  So that will be tonight.

Good night everyone.  Have a good rest and God bless.

Janet

Ohhhh! The Semester!  Now I understand, Judy.

Only one post since I was here last evening.  Nothing much happening here this morning, either.  Darrel did get his IV out yesterday, which is a relief to him.  He slept better last night, and no night sweats until this morning about time to get up.  He has to go back to the doctor soon and let them see if the infection is killed.

I need to dress and get going to exercise!  I've been up a while, but haven't gotten dressed yet.  Probably wouldn't do to go in pajamas and housecoat.  ;)
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Jeanne Lee

Janet, I would say that depends on the pajamas and housecoat!   ;D

I'm carrying my box of tissues around with me this morning.  Yesterday I had a nice nap and woke up to sneeze and blow and blow and sneeze the rest of the afternoon and evening.  The drips seem to be continuing this morning and I need PUFFS:eek: But as long as I continue to drip it's not backing up into my sinuses, so I'd rather have a sore nose.   ;)

The rehab went fine with Ivalou...just an evaluation.  She is to have Speech Therapy twice a week but we won't know when until after today.  Marge is taking her back to rehab today to be evaluated by the Physical Therapists and we are hoping that she can have Speech and Physical therapy back to back so we won't have to go to rehab but twice a week.  We don't know how long this will last also.

We have been invited back to Florida to stay with Kaye Don and Barb.  So we want to find out how many weeks this therapy will be.

Euchre was fun.  Janet and Sam had a four-seasons room built on the back of their home.  Nothing in it yet but the two tables for us to play cards.  Nice and sunny!  The soup and salad and cheese ball and crackers were yummy!

Today is my class luncheon but that is after I take the trash to Kaye Don's driveway.  And then after the luncheon is a trip to WalMart again, Goodwill and I want to see if I can find a large print Bible for Ivalou.

And today is the first day this year to be above freezing!!  Yeah!!!!

Hello Everyone...

So sad about Haiti.  Let's keep praying.  We have a topic in our Prayer and Praise board and you can get there by clicking on the link in my signature.

It's cold here.  Guess that's normal for winter in Canada!  ;)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  The morning is about over and I just got back home a little bit ago after coffee, a quick trip at the store for coffee and bread, walking at the gym and getting a hair cut.

Last evening at choir one of the choir members, who is a retired nurse, mentioned a nurse friend who has set up and runs one or more orphanages in Haiti.  She had not been able to reach her or receive any information and was very concerned.  Of course, we prayed for her and a number of other needs and praises that choir members had.  This morning at coffee one of my friends mentioned a lady he knew and had gone to church with who ran an orphange in Haiti.  I mentioned the ladies names, which was a very unique first name, and he said that was his friend.  Small world.  When I got home this morning there was a message from the choir member saying she had been in contact with the lady and she was fine and her orphanage was in another part of Haiti and had not incurred damage.  Glad to hear something positive regarding Haiti.  Judy I agree with you that I can only watch the news for so long and then must do something else.

My schedule is free the rest of the day.  Pat seems to be much better from her cold and we went out to eat last evening so she could get out of the house for a little bit.  She slept until about 3 am and then got up as was having trouble breathing with the cold.  When I left for coffee she went back to bed and is still sleeping.

Anthony

I've had some trouble with my computer today.  It keeps freezing up on me - I hope I can write this message out.

I was a little worried about driving this morning, because the forecast told of black ice all across the country, but it was quite warm when I got outside and travelled about a lot easier than yesterday.  I went to the gym when I finished and met up with a friend.  We are going to the British Museum in London one the 23rd to see some of the Bible antiquities - for instance there is an oberlisk made by the Assyrians that shows one of the Kings of Israel bowing down and paying tribute money to the King of Assyria.  I am looking forward to going.

Larry, the shirts are too tight to put anything underneath, but I am planning on buying one of those mountaneering jackets and wearing that.  I am glad that your day went according to plan Larry.  You seem very busy even though you are retired.

JudyB I am having trouble watching the news at the moment.  So many lives lost, it is hard to take.  Thank God for the emergency services.

Janet, I am so glad that Darrel had a better night last night.  God bless you both. (p.s. it's pygamas, not pagamas - where do you Americans get your spelling from  ^-^)

Jeanne sorry you are such a drip at the moment  :P. I hope things dry up a bit and you feel a little better soon.

Etta Sue, I did not realise that Ivalou has been so poorly.  The Lord bless her and all of the medical profession who are helping her.

I am just off to cook some tea for myself.  God bless all.

Anthony.

Hi to all,

A quick "fly by" to say I will be heading to the mountains for some rest and relaxation--The Poconos still have some snow, so I will be staying in my the fire.

Trying to finish reading Dr. Charles Stanley's book -How to Handle Adversity.

Have a good weekend,

Etta, I sent you an email ; I need help with the Footprints animation

Thanks

I had company this afternoon.  Was nice to have RuthV here for a visit.  We have to do this more.

Elizabeth is shoveling the ramp and Kass making dinner.  We have great temperatures, 32*F.  good for getting the ramp clear.

I need to go and "help out" with dinner.  She makes the greatest meals!

Hey there .... I finally have my "access numbers" corrected, so I can get here properly!  ::)

Judy ... How nice that you have your own resident cook!   :)

I'm probably too late to wish Joyce a pleasant getaway ... oh, well, the thought counts, doesn't it?   :-\

Gotta go ... I've spent far too long messing with this computer and "talking" with the tech ... via live-chat this time .... now I need to get my fire stirred up again and see if I can warm up.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!
