Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

My family and I were driving the backroads on the way home and we came across this beautiful rainbow - incredibly wide and vibrant.  Unfortunately since the mud was so bad it was a good 20 mins before I found a spot to pull over and the once vibrant rainbow was no more.

Forgive me if I post this incorrectly, I believe this is my first photo shared here.

Oddly enough, I find my favorite part of this shot is the fence and tattered rope.

That's very good. I think the only thing I would suggest would be to straiten the horizon a little. This has potential to be a great landscape. :)

REally nice backroad scene, I like the fence and tattered rope too...wouldn't be the same though without the cows!!! WE had rainbow here too-it was about 7-730ish am...with winds, sun and clouds moving fast across the sky... :)

I like it.  You can see the foot of the rainbow.  I agree about the cows, they just add to the quality.  Well done.  Way to go.  Let's see more.

Don

Sorry you couldn't find a place to pull over for your shot. Happens to me a lot also.

You still caught a rainbow in the fence though.

Too bad you couldn't get the full glory of the rainbow, but even without it the picture is great - a lovely pastoral scene.

Thanks for the kind words everyone...still getting used to this new camera.  My mistake was using the LCD screen whilst not having a tripod for slight adjustments.  As silly as it may seem, the horizon actually looked flat to me on the screen - I would have caught that mistake using the reticle through the viewfinder.  Ah well, live and learn as they say.

I love the subtle pearly color in the sky.   Not as spectacular as many rainbow shots, but in it's own way, it's a winner.   I wish I had taken it.   I hope you don't mind, I tried to open up the color just a bit.

I really like the way that sun-tinted cloud, the bit of rainbow, and the water in the lower left side pull the eye down to the intersection of the crossing diagonal of the fence, and then up just a bit to the rainbow again.

Very nice.

Great work, really good job lightening the foreground.  I will say this, no offense of course, but I'm partial to the original as terrible a technical shot it was it captured the mood.  The grass was dark and rich, above us was overcast and in the distance the light broke through.

Thanks for all the kind words all.
