Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

He Knows My Name
from the messages of Adrian Rogers

BIBLE MEDITATION:

Psalm 139:14 - "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:

Ever feel like the little girl who was endeavoring to pray what we call The Lord's Prayer when she said, "Our Father which art in Heaven, how does He know my name?" I have. But friend, He does know our names. He knows me. He knows you. But you say, "How could God be interested in me? The great God who made the universe – how could He be interested in me?  I'm like a fleck of spray in an ocean of existence." Well, He is interested in you. You are not an accident. You are intimately known by God.

ACTION POINT:

Read Matthew 10:30. What does this tell you about God? What does this tell you about yourself?

His Eye Is On The Sparrow
(Click to hear music)

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender words I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears
Tho' by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Tony came yesterday and cleaned out the underneath of the mower deck for me.  I had to leave for the baby shower.  The baby shower of my great-niece was sooo nice.  I don't think she will have to buy Colt Dylan any clothes until he starts school!!

Then it was home and watching TV.

This morning Ivalou and I were greeters at the door at church.  I uploaded the photo I scanned yesterday.  When church started and the congregation was asked if there were any anniversaries, Dick stood up and said him and Jean were married 60 years April 30th.  Then their wedding photo was put on the overhead.  Then it was asked that would all of Dick and Jean's kids, grands and great please stand.  Gosh, I bet there were 60+ people that stood!  What a milestone!

After church 4 of us went out for Chinese.  Betty went on to her daughter's house and I took Ivalou to her son, Jeff's house.  Today is Jeff's 57th birthday.  They are having a birthday dinner at 5 so now someone only needs to bring her home instead of coming and getting her also.

Me?  I am catching up online.

Tomorrow will be busy.  I have a blood draw which I am dreading at 9am.  Then rehab for Ivalou at 2:30pm.  Then council meeting at church at 7pm!  A broken up day but busy!

Hi everyone.  We are still awaiting the rain which is suppose to arrive tonight.  It has been cloudy, hot and very humid here today.  We attended church and then out to eat at a buffet (no supper needed tonight).  I came home and took a nap and have been working here in my office, cleaning it up as have a friend coming tomorrow and we will work here in my office.

I finally worked up the pictures from the quilting retreat that Pat attended and I went along for the rest.  They turned out very well.  I will try to post some of them in my gallery but have to check the rules and resize them.  This Canon camera I have just doesn't allow me to take very many pictures that don't turn out well.

Judy, congrats on the new grandbaby.  I agree that is always a wonderful time.  The older I get the more I enjoy seeing the babies and the little ones.  Where we walk at the gym they have a pre-school and we often get to see the teachers, who have met the arriving parents outside, bring a group of them through the gym.  Also appreciate your posting the information on the hymns as well as posting the hymns.

Etta Sue, 60 years of marriage is a wonderful milestone.  It sounds like you had a wonderful service.  Remember hydrate, hydrate before your blood test tomorrow.  I had blood taken last week and they took out 5 vials.  I didn't think they were ever going to stop.

Jean, thanks for the devotional for the week.  I believe that God has a plan for each of us if we will seek his will for our lives and do our part in hearing and feeling his direction.  I also think we very often are oblivious to the many miracles that God provides for us as he cares for each of his children.

Jim, I sure hope we don't get anywhere that amount of rain.  It did sound like the majority of it would be in Tennessee and Kentucky and the NW top part of Georgia.

Ruth, it sounds like you have had your plate full.  Sorry to hear of the split scalp your husband encountered.  I bet that stung!!

JudyB

Al.  The name Nathaniel was chosen because he is indeed a gift given by God.  After years of infertility this baby is indeed a gift.  The full name is Nathaniel Benjamin McKay Lord.  6 lbs, 10 ozs, born 6:57 this morning.  He has such a sweet face, and is so tiny...you forget how small they can be at birth.

Wonderful message this morning at church, on end times.  There was nothing in the message anyone could disagree with, he dealt with  2 Timothy 3:1 - 6. He pointed out how all of this is actually happening in our day. He then went on to Matt 24, how we can expect persecution if we live for Christ.  How many of us will be able to stand during persecution.....I pray I will.

Ruth

It has had the look of rain all day but still it has not arrived.

It has been a quiet day lots of rest which is a good thing. I did phone my sister-in-law and we are to meet for lunch some time in the very near future.

Judy: Who's last name does this new arrival have?

Larry:You seem to keep busy as well.
Etta Sue:You are another very busy person.

Well, here we are at the HandiMart Parking Lot again.  We've been to church with Jim & Marla and now on our way home decided to see what you are all doing!

Comcast is looking grim.  :(

Yes, pretty well, Jeanne, except Satellite which involves a big contract to try to get out of if you find something better.

I feel so sorry for Doug, he was up all day yesterday, all last night, and all day today.  Megan said he was wonderful helping her through.  I must say I am a proud Mama.

Pat it is good to see you online. I am sorry you are having such a time with the internet problem.  Check your email, when you get a chance.

Jeanne I reread your devotional.  It is wonderful to know that Our Father knows my name. Thank you for that.  So many times we feel invisible, but He knows my name...Not invisible to Him.

No rain overnight and none in the forcast so the drying out process will begin in earnest for many within the area today. I'm so thankful that I and mine escaped
damage and flooding from the torrential rains. My prayers are with the many who
were not so fortunate.
My wife (Pam) and I have had a foster child with us over the past year and will be preparing for a court date this Thursday. I think he will be leaving us soon afterward. I'm not sure he will be going home however. We pray seeds planted in his young life will be watered and nourished by our Lord. The time he has spent with us has been his first exposure to the bible, Christianity, and church. I'm certain in later years he will recall the time spent within such an environment.

Jeanne Lee: A wonderful devotional. Psalm 139 has always been one of my favorite and teaches so much.

JudyB: Congratulations on the new grandson. Nathaniel is a great name by the way.
Larry: I hope you have battened the hatches in any case.
A recovering sinner,
my name is Jim, and I love Jesus.†

Hi everyone.  It has been a very rainy night and early morning.  We are having a lull right now as the rain has stopped but I think more is on its way.  I think we have already had close to 2 inches and it has really caused a traffic mess in the Atlanta area.  There is some flooding and the subway line is having some troubles with a couple of the lines closed this morning.

Stacey is staying in today.  She doesn't need to be getting her wheelchair out where she might have to go through puddles of water and out where it is lightning.  Since she only works 4 mornings a week she will be able to work on Friday rather than today.

I have a quiet day planned other than my men's Monday luncheon.  It is at a place close by.  This will give me the chance to have most of a day at home, which has been rare recently.

Jane Walker

I'm here again!  Joy came home last night and brought her laptop with her!

Congratulations, Judy, on the safe arrival of Nathaniel!  I know he is truly a "bundle of joy" to Doug and Megan since they have waited for him so long.

I may be going to Yountville today for another visit with Tom.  His sister is supposed to arrive in California (from Minnesota) tomorrow.  I know she and her daughter and son-in-law will be happy to take a good report back to the rest of the family.  I don't know when or if I'll be meeting up with them, but they do have my phone number so I will be hearing, I'm sure.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jeanne Lee

It's dark and raining, with a "promise" of scattered thunder storms or showers for today and part of tomorrow.  So I may need to suddenly shut down.  And I may need to run about closing the windows I've had open the last couple of days.   :D

I drank and drank and drank lots of water after getting up this morning.  I got to the doctor's office and the nurse got 2 vials of blood with only one stick!  I was so happy to only be stuck once that when leaving the parking lot I backed into a pickup truck!!  I pulled over and waited until the man came out.  This is a three-story medical complex so I had no idea how long I would have to wait.  But he came out in about 5 minutes.  I got out of my car and told him I was sorry but I backed into his truck.  He said 'How did you do that?'  I showed him where I was parked and when I backed out, I hit his truck...the only vehicle on the back row!!  He looked and said, 'No problem.  I can fix it'.  I was certainly relieved that it was both of our bumpers that are flexible.  We may have some marks where paint is scraped but no dents!

Then I ate breakfast at Perkins again.  I like their hash browns better than the home fries at Bob Evans.

Now it is rehab at 2pm and church council tonight at 7pm.

Busy day!

Etta Sue that can be scary.  I'm glad it turned out as well as it did.

Janet

Look who is home!  :)  We had a wonderful trip, lots to tell you about, just not right now.  The mail carrier just delivered a huge box full of mail!

I have a brand new great-granddaughter!!  Born May 1, 7 lbs. 13 oz, 20 inches long, named Chelsea Rebecca.  I saw lots of photos of her on Facebook, and she sure is a little chubby one.  She has blonde hair and blue eyes, her big sister, Alexis, had dark hair and eyes.  Lexi's hair is now a soft brown.  Anyway, as Larry said, babies and children are wonderful.  I can't wait to get my hands on this new one!  ;)

Last night I came in here and turned on the power strip to my PC, then turned on the computer---and it exploded!!  :o  Sparks flew, and boy, does it stink!  Still stinks today like burnt electical wiring.  :P  I hooked up the laptop directly to the wireless and got online, so not as upset as I would be otherwise, but still not happy about it, for sure.  I have far too many computer problems, and not the knowledge to fix any of them.  >:(

So anyway--I have caught up on all your postings now.  I missed all of you, and am glad most are doing well.  So good to see Ruth Ann back!  Sorry to read that not only Wendy, but also Liz is having problems.  Ruth, I am praying for you.

Costa Rica may likely be the most beautiful place in the world!  It is truly a nature lov er's paradise!  I just reveled in the beauty, thanking God constantly for allowing me to experience it.  And we did lots of fun stuff:  Zip line, hanging bridges, white water rafting, ocean outrigger canoeing, horseback riding, jungle trekking to the ruins at Tikal, saw so many beautiful birds and lots of wildlife--three kinds of monkeys, and whole troops of them at a time!  Sloths, coatamundi, raccoons.......by now I'm sure you get the idea that I had a great time!   8)

Now I must go start sorting that box full of mail!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Ruth

Janet: Sounds like you will be a month getting all the mail sorted, it is also wonderful that you had a good vacation. Also sorry to hear about your computer.

Larry:We sure could use some of that rain up this way.

We went to Newmarket for dinner they give the Birthday person a free meal with identification and yes it was my birthday. While there we met past work place friends and one of them was celebrating as well, it was good to spend some time with them.  Judy & Pat they are related to the Dicemans.

Earlier in the day I drove to Orangeville  to a camera place that does specialized photo work with the hopes that they will be successful with some cropping as it is the only good photo we have. I will know tomorrow what they will be able to do.

For those that do not know Orangeville is a 40 minute drive north and west of here and Newmarket is approx. a 40 minute drive to the north & east of home.

I will check in perhaps tomorrow but again I have a full day but will be staying closer to home this time it will be a 30 minute drive to the south.   Ruth

Hi, friends, I'm a bit tired tonight. We're having a flood of truly epic proportions here in Tennessee. Thankfully, my family is safe. And, though water got into the former garage in my old house, I think I can take rubber gloves out there tomorrow and put the few things that are wet out to dry and then set a rotating fan to help them dry out.

Love to all of y'all.

Ruth Ann

:)   Hi to all.   It is late and it has been very busy since I was last on this site.  the grandkids keep us  busy and thenmany family things.  My wifes Aunt has Had two things happen in the past few weeks she has had two deaths and they are very close to her.  So we ask that you could pray for Dolly Grace that God would speak to her in some way as she is not a Christian.   I was speaking to a very old friend of mine also tonight and it is just two years since her Husband died of cancer and still it is very hard for her.  Her name is Helen and I spoke to her about 1 hour on the phone and she knows the Gospel but she told me that she just cannot have the faith that I have to accept the things of Christ the way that I do so I ask you all to please pray that the Lord will place someone into her life and show her how easy it is to give her life to Christ :)

Larry :  I glad to here that Pat is doing well and that the surgery went well.  I hope that you are also looking after yourself.

Judy B and John.   Congratulations on the safe arrival of your new baby grandchild

Paul and Pat:  Hope all is well and that your health is good..

Hi everyone.  I have three minutes before needing to leave for morning coffee at McDonald's.

Janet, so good to see your posting and to know of the wonderful time you had on your trip.  Also, congrats on the new grandbaby.

Ruth Ann, sure glad to see your posting as was wondering how you might be impacted from the flooding.  The pictures are truly terrifying.  Glad there was no major damage to your former home.

Gord, you are a fortunate man to have a close relationship with your grandchildren.  Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about myself.

Ruth, sure some of us would be happy to send some of the excess rain your way.  Unfortunately we don't have that kind of control.  :)

Etta Sue, you certainly did the right thing in regard to the little accident and the result was good.  Know how upsetting those types of events can be.  I try to be so careful in driving now, especially when I have to back up.

Hope all have a glorious day.  I am off to get mine started.

Jeanne Lee

Larry, you got a lot in, in that three minutes!   :D

Janet, it's great to see your smiling face again.  I don't imagine you did much smiling when your computer exploded, though!  Glad you're home and that you had such a great trip.

Church council was interesting.  First I left home a tad early for the meeting since the clouds were dark and scary looking.  It started raining before I got 4 miles to church and the parking lot was full of cars.  Then I remembered that the church basement is a voting place for the west side of our township today and they were setting things up.  So the council met in my Sunday School classroom.

It was discovered that our little church is like many churches...everyone is having to tighten their belts in spending and that includes giving to the church.  We need to ask people to dig a little deeper and help the church.  We are in progress of building a new building AND hiring a youth minister both of which are necessities not options.  Thankfully we are gaining more children in the church and a youth minister would draw more families with children.  And our little church is celebrating 150 years in August so parts of the church is that old.  There are too many things to fix up and it would still not be code so a new facility is in the works.

Sorry to ramble on but our church is on my heart today.  Our church started Reading the Bible in a Year in April.  I feel that with everyone reading the same books, chapters and verses every day, that something amazing will happen.  God will provide.

Not much planned.  Kitty and I plan on going swimming today.  I didn't go anytime in April!  And after a rainy evening, there isn't a cloud in the sky today and suppose to get in the high 70's!!

:)  Good day to you all.

Etta Sue.   I meant to say to you on my last post that you are such a busy person it just makes me tired reading what you do in one day but praise the Lord that he gives you the strength to do it.

It is a nice day here today and we have good tempratures.  Have a great day.  Gord. :coffee:

Kassie went to Wonderland on Saturday and came home with a sore neck.  She rested over the weekend, but by yesterday afternoon the pain was too much, causing a migraine.  She called me from the school.  The hospital determined that there were no chips or anything else with her bones, and that is was all muscular.  She insisted on going back to school today but has Tylenol with her.  It seems it is like a sideways whiplash.  She will be fine, this will take time.

The weather up here is beautiful. but wouldn't you know they weatherman is calling for snow on Saturday or Sunday!  I know it won't stay, but it is time for heat not cold.

Ruth we need the rain as well.  Lake Nipissing is way below normal levels as is Superior and the other great lakes.  The river we pass on the way home seems to be at a high level, and they are not draining it as I would have supposed.  Hydro is responsible for that.

Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will never lack any good thing.

Psalm 34:10 NLT

Dear God, I know you will provide, but why don't you provide until you provide?

Jewish saying

The empty basket

When Palestine was partitioned, Maltar and his family were stranded in Jerusalem. Daily his family read the Lord's promises, such as those of Psalm 34. One day Maltar said, "Children, we finished the last of our food for breakfast. We have no money. We'll tell this only to the Lord, and I'll go out with this basket." So they prayed around the empty basket.

Maltar went to the bank, but there was still no money coming through. As he turned to go, he saw a friend from his hometown in the line. He'd left before the worst troubles and banked his money in Jerusalem. "Maltar!" his friend cried. "What are you doing here?"

"We were on holiday in our small house in Jerusalem and weren't able to get back home," Maltar said.

"Then you must be having money problems. How are you managing?"

"Fine," Maltar told him and left the bank.

His friend overtook him: "You can't be fine, Maltar, with nine kids to feed." He dropped a handful of bank notes into the basket.

The children, waiting at the gate, stared in wonder as Maltar returned with an overflowing basket.

I'm back in the apt. after working a while at the house. Primarily damaged are a great cache of old photos. I've got them spread out and drying, but need to go back and spray the area with Lysol to prevent mold. Gotta rest and regroup, first.

Love to all.
